- One thing that most motorists seem to underestimate is how much difference passenger weight can make to a car’s behaviour. One or two people on board won’t change much but when you’re talking about a fully-loaded 7-seater SUV, there’s a lot of change you can expect.
So when we got the Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar, we decided to have a little fun in the hopes of learning something new along the way. In the not-a-comparison-review, we put the cars through a short series of tests to get a better idea of how they manage braking, cornering, ride comfort and more.

They try to do something other's don't even think about
One of the more meaningful reviews of cars compared to the meaninglessness that is dished out routinely on chrome finishes, design elements blah blah blah. We have to live with performance and behaviour for rest of the ownership while design elements are forgotten once a car is bought. Wonderful to see fresh thinking and innovative test routines.
@Tushar Kamath excellent idea, you could also show us how quickly we can change a spare tyre, how durable and effective are the Jacks and handles
Can't wait to see same test on other compititor also in this segment after launch of XUV700.
I think XUV 700 would Start with 18 lcs as base price. It will go up to 28lcs, Tata Safari allready increased 15k today.
Safari will still rule this segment.

If you need ventilated seat and wireless charger more then anything else in life from a car, go for Alcazar. But if you are a serious car lover with safety and all other serious elements expected from an SUV, then go for Safari
Safari is more fun to drive and Gives a more SUV feel (even tho it's not really an suv) rather than that MPV Alkhazaad

@@pranavp386 it will definitely will be in pieces. Ask why? Natrax also do test on how the car will perform when rusted. And in that rusting process the whole tata car will decay from inside. And will always rollover on cornering test. And these tests will done on third party engines as tata's own engine will die in the first test itself.

Safari looks like a furniture shop from inside with about 2-3 sofa sets. It would be more comfortable for passengers.

@@shaazali911 Lol, that was savage 🤣🤣. I love the butch styling of the Scorpio, but sadly it has a horrible ride and after watching that Crash test 😵😵. Its a big no no until the next generation comes out.

Alcazar seems like a MPV and worst looking car. Old creta design was better.. Safari has rear suspension from "LOTUS" and front one is similar to"LR Discovery".
Guys review the ac performance as well. No one seems to think that is important somehow.

There are so many vlogs creeping comparing both, seems Alcazar giving sleepiness nights to the other , some areas not covered such as cabin noise ,no guess who has more, refinement of engine and gear box , parking problem the biggest problem and who comes out winner no Guesses again

Safari has three advantages.. Build quality, powerful engine and bigger size. Fit and finish is really below par as compared to the Alcazar. Software and the camera is still way behind as compared to the Alcazar.. I have driven both. Its a compromise in the end if you choose either car.

From the video, I can clearly tell there's a soft corner to Alacazar, bcoz at 05:05 the author tells third row is far better to access in Alacazar. Yes I agree, accessing is better, but what about comfort , leg and knee room in Alcazar when tall and Healthier person's are considered ?? #JustAThought

Tata safari is a proper SUV which has LR DNA only lacks AWD , whereas Alcazar is just an lifted and extended crossover which is trying to look like an SUV but you know its not.

I am planning to buy the Alcazar Diesel Signature AT as it provides 1.5 ltr engine for way better mileage and is packed with features. I already own Tata Zest XMA diesel AT and Tata Altroz XZ+ petrol MT.
In youtube - Buy safari for it's safety, space, engine.
In real life - Buy alcazar for wireless charging and air purifier.

5:02 you guys talked about it is a little easier for healthy and tall person to use alcazar stumble forward seats but didn't said how cramped the last row of alcazar is and a healthy and tall person cannot sit there. On the other hand safari's 3rd row is more spacious then alcazar.
Yes. I went for test drive with my friends in Safari. I am 5' 11" sitting in 3rd row. was comfortable. Only small issue, my knees were little high. Not bad. It's a great suv.

This should be the norm of testing. No, not the exact format, but testing with full capacity load for a MPV/ 7 seater SUV. If off road capability is a test criteria for a SUV, I dont see why not a full seating capacity for cars too. Also if you take all my suggestions on test criteria seriously, you probably will have to make each review an hour long each, atleast :P
That said, as fun as this shootout was, it did bring out some rather important points about each vehicle. I seriously wish tumble down seats should be the standard on all vehicles with 3rd row seating, the slide forward just doesnt make the cut, people arent really getting much slimmer by the day, well, not most of the us. (i see lockdown blessings on all the reviewers in the video :P)
Btw dont you think Safari should ditch the all white upholstery or atleast give customers an option of a darker shade?

So for me the big takeaway is that even at a relatively low speed of 60-65kmph, these cars do reach their grip limits. And if its raining, the grip limits are lower to begin with. Plus, our roads are dusty and bumpy too.
Perhaps 4WD would legitimately make a difference here.

The Safari is hands down the better SUV then the Alcazar, but still people would buy the Alcazar over Safari just because of the goodies it offers. Safari beats Alcazar over all the characteristics that an SUV should have. Bad road or no road capabilities, third row comfort, a full house driving manners, all of it.
Service experience of Tata owners are fun to hear when they complain though I support make in India .it doesn't justify service related issues.
