- TA run finally, showcasing Safi Dragon GS. At first I wanna do Savage run with this, but BB said that Ruiner is weak against dragon element, so I gave it a try.

Fantastic run. I know from experience that it's a lot harder to keep Ruiner Nergigante at bay than people think. One tiny hiccup and he suddenly gains a massive amount of momentum, and it's quite hard to get it back.
I cant understand how speedrunners do to have monsters so agresive like nerg or velk totally quiet and softly moving ,like they only have 2 moves or less and only cries letting him get the damage on head,totally awesome😂🔥
Its called resetting the quest a hundred times until you get the perfect RNG

Probably a dumb question but can someone explain why Nergi just whiffs dive bomb when he doesn’t even try to avoid it? It always seems to catch me 😢

Short answer is R. Nerg has 3 dive bombs: left, right, and middle. He shows which he's gonna do by which hand he holds up. Left for left, right for right, both for middle. Prey gets hit by the middle one, but avoids the left and right ones by moving to the opposite side.
@Brandon Thomas There are types of ruiner divebomb, for example the ones that aimed at the right, left or directly at the hunter. In 1:07 you can see that the divebomb will be on nergi's right because when it roars, its right hand is positioned higher than the left (and vice versa). I think since Prey is in front of the left hand, he is safe and doesn't evade.
Just got pass Ruiner Nerg and i didnt know this about his dive bombs. Really good tip for anyone having issues with his dive bomb. I noticed to he gives you a window of time before he goes up for his dive bomb. You have to be aware to look up ☝. Nice vid.

wouldn't you get more EFR by running sharpness VI instead of attack VI and using a handi+ jewel and attack charm instead?
That doesn't work at all. The level 6 awaken skills aren't all that much stronger than level 5. You still need at least handicraft Lv3 to hit purple with sharpness VI
Azi Steel you only need handi 2 to hit purple

Technically it is higher damage and with gs it's not hard to keep 10 hits of purple alot of ls wont do it cause it really limits the monsters you can fight too many hits in our soften attack x.x I've been using different weapons cause of that specifically

I run peak performance 3 over focus 2 and my agitator is only at 4. Should I just drop the peak performance and max out agitator while adding focus?
Agitator is more reliable since it is active during enrage while peak needs you to remain untouched for a similar attack bonus its just a matter of personal choice i find agitator more comfortable even if i dont dont get hit much in a hunt and with focus its a nice damage increase since you hit sooner but its also a comfort thing it means you get more out of openings since you can possible get an extra level or two of charge anyway hope this helped and good luck
@@evil_orange7877 hmm, I might try it with focus but I do love running peak cause I have the health augment which always keeps me topped off and with that set up I usually slam a monster for about 1200 to 1500 on average, maybe I can work around it so I could max out both.
You mean you're not running focus 2 atm? I have a set that combines peak 3, agi 4, and focus 2 if you want.

I'm so disappointed in Ruiner, out of all the elder dragons, he seems to be the one the easiest to stagger
You mean kushala and teo velkhana right? All 3 have the same stagger animations.

@stab_me_pls good for you but that doesn't mean he is still not easy to stagger and you don't have to be a speed runner to do that

Can somebody explain to me why he doesn't make nergi run into the wall? Isn't that a huge chunk of damage with a long down time?

He is playing by TA rules, which means he is forbidden to use any external help (environment, mantles, etc) and various other rules. You can look it up if you want further information.

That's Trial Attack rules (TA) is suppoused to be like a challenge run taken from older games. Shadow of The Colossus for example had a trial attack mode. It mostly consist on fighting the monster with only your weapon. However, with the introduction of the cluch claw and the Tenderizer synergy the rules change according to some random guys on the internet. Not a big fan of it tbh.
With that gear everybody can do it

It is yeah, need to work on evading his roar, ultimately I wanna get sub 4, but invest quest only already killing my motivation to run this :(

No nerfs nerfs bad but at the same time its bringing the rest of weapons up to where they should be most of us are gonna replace safi with guild weapons elementless same raw as a safi with 3 atk 5 and atk augment purple in one handicraft. Also element wise safi is just barely ahead and even for gs acidic is right behind safi most ta still use it safi just allows comfier builds and amazing tank builds with 3 defensive set bonuses at once
