Is my 2025 vacation going to be determined by Skittish dates?
Of course not, that's unreasonable.
Am I going to one of 3 possible cities all several hours' flight away after Aus/Ireland dates are announced?
Also no, but yes.
As a Swedish man, I must concur that this sketch is , to my ever increasing horror, true to the letter...
YEES. You are coming to Copenhagen. YES. I also would like a Danish immigration version. I would be more than happy to give you a few insides to Danes.
But the parental leave, you realise that the next child is born by the end of the first leave ..no chance of getting the application sorted
Couldn't see you in Copenhagen last year but next year I'm coming!
I love the "common way to greet someone" joke. Wordless answers are always funny.
Literally the funniest...I died at this joke😂😂😂
Sorry, didn't get the joke

A complicated compliment, but I'll take it
@@foilarmsandhogÄNTLIGEN (Finally) you made the 🇸🇪 immigration! 😂 VÄLKOMNA to Stockholm! 🤗
the pint of beer joke hit too close to home, shit's ridiculously expensive here😭
It's nearly as bad here
I once took a business trip from France to Sweden. Short flight but two men sitting behind me managed to order many, many drinks. I finally just had to turn around to look at them. One cheerfully swished his glass and said, “we’re going back to Sweden”. Once i saw the cost of liquor there, i understood
Don´t be an alcoholic then.
Thanks for making me understand that joke 😂
If you're looking for an affordable drink in Stockholm I highly recommend the Oxsvansen pub. It's also run by a really nice australian guy.
Surely was one of my most entertaining evenings in a pub ever.
The Sun joke is the best opening joke ever 😂😂
The northern tip of Sweden is in the arctic circle (same as Norway and Finland)
As a Swede, I found it the worst tbh. In the northernmost part of Sweden, the sun won't set at all during summer - 24 hours of sunlight per day so hardly "rarely seen".
"Den svenska sommaren inträffade i år på en onsdag." är ju ett klassiskt skämt.
Visst, solen går inte ner, men om det är molnigt så syns den inte iallfall. ;)
@@suntiger745 En förkrossande stor del av landets befolkning bor söder om polcirkeln så det är nog där ditt skämt är "klassiskt".
@@vardekpetrovic9716 Nah a big part of summer is one single day.
The real Swedish immigration exam is to leave a single cookie on the table and observing if they are gonna take it.
Ummm…what’s the correct answer ? 🤷♀️
@@andrea8764 You never take the last piece in Sweden :D
@@ledamethOP There are places in the US like Minnesota with similar tendencies, which makes sense because there was so much Scandiavian immigration to there. I still hesitate to take the last of something, even at the grocery store. What if someone else really needs one?
@@lethargogpeterson4083lol. It’s fine at the grocery store. But if you have been invited to someone’s home definitely not. 1. It can be seen as a sign your host did not provide enough. 2. The host was probably so busy getting things ready and serving other that they probably didn’t even get to enjoy much of what they prepared. So, leave that last bit of cake for them to eat once everyone has left.😊
Got it! Thanks!
Coming from blunt Americans who love it when guests eat, I view putting food out as saying, “Please help yourself to as much as you want!”

@@rolandet nuh uh its still swedish
Also, Volvo will always get 10/10 in my book for inventing the modern seat belt and making the patent open for everyone to use, just to save lives
Constructing huge cars, with or without seatbelts, is still very unsafe for the people outside of the car... Apparantly safety is only important for those who can afford asocial, loud, polluting, piblic-space taking, metal boxes....

Only the question about swedish sexy and luxury car brand should had the answer Koenigsegg, maybe even the Saab not just Volvo and Volvo is specifically known for their safety and modesty not design or luxury.
‘Those jumpers look so cozy’ probably shouldn’t be the takeaway from this sketch, and yet here we are. Blame the baltic June weather 😂

All the answers are no niin.
It starts with filling in forms. And then more forms. And more forms. And you have to open a bank account. Which you can do by filling in forms.

Thank you for the detailed historical research that went into this sketch. Too many people think the Vikings wore horns, but it's genuinely more true to say they were horny. (Sometimes.) (A lot of the times.) (Winters get cold.)
haha, the winter is tough on all of us
That whole horned helmet thing was because they kept finding drinking horns placed near the helmets at dig sites.
This like most of the jokes had a double meaning.
Actually there are statues and rock art depicting horned helmets from the Nordic bronze age, so the Victorians were only off by 1700 years or so. No big deal.

incidentally, every few years the north east of Sweden has the most hours of sun in all of Sweden that year (that's because the sun does not set at all in the summer and there are fewer cloudy days than in other parts of Sweden - there just isn't much sun in the winter).
I am originally in the southern US and the first time I went to northern Sweden during the summer was freaky. It got sort of dark about 2 in the morning and that was it..

Sketch idea: the snob being kidnapped
They'd let him go for sure
You’d have a Ransom of Red Chief situation-the kidnappers end up paying to get him off their hands!😅
They'd probably feel so bad for him and his financial situation that they would briefly consider letting him join before discovering the real challenge is keeping him away
How about the reverse of the Yorkshireman sketch with 3 snobs trying to outdo each other about how rich their upbringing was. 😁
As a Brit living in Norway, the bankloan for a beer joke is spot on.
Yes, the beer (and everything else) is much more expensive in Norway than in Sweden, isn’t it?

You did great, Swedes will find this very funny. I showed it to my other Swedish friends and they laughed too. loved the Volvo one haha! Also the parental leave spot on!! And the sun joke was my fav that I wrote, you delivered it great.

@@lucyg7572 alcohol is expensive as fuck in sweden compared to many other countries
@@lucyg7572 It's expensive. A beer can cost as bad as $12 for 0,4 liters/ 13,5 oz and at best $8 for 0,5 liter/16,9 oz. This is bar prices. I'm sure there are worse prices and better prices, but this is general.

I was waiting for the punchline in the "what light is rarely seen". That's not a joke, that's the truth. Go far enough north and the sun wont even rise for a month in winter. here in Norway go on holliday and to buy food in Sweden because pretty much everything cost 2/3 to 1/2 of the cost on Norway... Also people in Sweden actually greet you even if they do not know you, that never happens in Norway (at least that is how it is outside the larger cities in Sweden).
