Poor Oisín 😂 Foil excels as Oisín, his expressions and timing are just so well done, the "I need to go home" line was 👏👏👏 Thank you for the extra scene where Oisín bypasses THAT talk from his mum, was that so you didnt have to film it?!! 😂😂
More books for the great FAH library! 😂 The "if I just speak louder they'll definitely understand what I'm saying" bit was so accurate (for people from many countries).
I’m just imagining Anne’s face when she sees that painting. (Obviously Oisin won’t give it to her, but she’ll probably insist on cleaning out his luggage while complaining about how badly he folds clothes and then see the picture. I can imagine her face now. 🤣🤣)
There are two funny ways that she might react! Will she put it on the wall in the good room and make her son die of embarrassment, or will she be scandalized and insist "it's going to Oxfam"?
Anne: How was France, Oisin? Oisin: Ahm, ahm, great mum. A: What did you do? O: ...I read. A: Really! And what did you read? O: Books. Interesting books. French books. A: Right. Did you see some art. O: aha, A: Are you hungry pet. O: Yes mom, A: Dinner will be (ring of the doorbell). Oh, that's your granny. Will you go let her in. Oisin: (opens the door) Hi granny. Gran: Hello pet. Come here and give your granny a kiss. Oisin: No, no, no kissing. NOOO (he screams while traumatized curling up into fetus position, sobbing, in the corner of the room) Anne: Oisin! Barry: (appearing out of nowhere) I'll kiss you granny. (And gives her the biggest kiss before she wacks him with her umbrella)
My most favourite bits i keep coming back to is Pierre's "Shhhhh..." to Oisin as he leaves on his date, and Oisin eventually adopting to the French life in the pre-outro! This is such a great sketch! 😀
"Je suis Irlandais" (or the equivalent thereof) is 100 percent a magic phrase! Have had personal experience of that suddenly helpful/friendly attitude shift in France, Belgium, Italy and Greece.
Great sketch!! I love it!! I love how the sketches about Anne and Oisín are so connected to each other. There's one where she said she has spent a lot of money sending Oisín to France (right? Or am i mixing it with something else) And now we got to see him in France. I also understand why Oisín forgot the French he learnt, it seems it was a bit of a traumatic experience 🤣🤣🤣🤣
There's also a sketch called "Calling Your Parents From Abroad" which they made before the pandemic. Oisin is on exchange to France there as well! (Was it the same trip, or did he go twice? We can probably imagine it whichever way we want.)
He's gonna be the lad wearing turtlenecks and the occasional beret when he's back isn't he? Had me laughing out loud from start to finish, I don't know how you lot keep outdoing yourself every Thursday.
OMG, BARRY! 😂😂😂 Yes, what's HE getting up to? I wonder what he would be like as a foreign exchange student! Unlikely probably - too far from Anne's fridge! 😂 But I think he's full of surprises. He's a dark horse, that one!
This makes my exchange experience look very tame! 😂 I mainly remember the struggle to wake up with the complete black out from the shutters and a huge bowl of hot chocolate for breakfast ☕
Even though my own exchange-student time was a totally different animal, I still got flashbacks from the disorienting differences in personal space and alcohol consumption. Oisin's bewildered expression nails it 😂
As a frenchwoman I was so chocked when I went to the UK and I discovered that people would eat their lunch in 10-30 minutes ... When I eat with my family we can start lunch at 1pm and finish at 6 and then start over for diner from 8pm to 1 am and in between we talk about food
Yep. I nearly missed the ferry from Dunkirk to Dover! Stopped at the local French McDonald's for a quick bite after driving from Milan. I was fourth in line. The first people in line - a group of course, spent almost 30 minutes discussing the menu. Well plenty of time for the next in line to make their choices... er, NO! Another twenty minutes... But faut de mieux - an ENGLISH, KINDLY ENGLISH executive from the Norfolk line was just behind me and seeing my distress at the prospect of missing the ferry, arranged my tickets, executive room with shower, etc., etc., before I shocked the other customers by ordering immediately and "fleeing" avec mon 'ambeur geur... (burger) Love the Norfolk Line.

As an American living in France I especially enjoy the wallpaper with the random picture on the wall. It seems that wallpaper is everywhere and a different pattern in every room. Like they put it on and never redecorated. But it’s lovely 🥰
Oh my days, this brings back so many memories of my French exchange! I remember my first meal - a massive pile of beetroot for a starter - I'd only ever eaten it once and hadn't liked it so I had to stuff it down! Then, touring the garden, I said to my new friend "Oh! You have so many pet rabbits! How lovely!" and she responded, with this very sweet smile, "Oh! We eat them!". 😅😬😆
The part with the kisses is so funny! Foil, you tried to keep a straight face, but you almost cracked up at the end🤣 Fun fact: I grew up in France, and in some regions, you first kiss on the right cheek. In others, on the left...So we usually end up kissing on the lips! It might explain a lot about the French culture 😂

And maybe it won’t even be a joke! 😆) looking forward to seeing you here!!
I was very certain my Country (India) is the undisputed land of strikes ,till I heard about France 😂😂❤
Poor Oisín 😂 Foil excels as Oisín, his expressions and timing are just so well done, the "I need to go home" line was 👏👏👏 Thank you for the extra scene where Oisín bypasses THAT talk from his mum, was that so you didnt have to film it?!! 😂😂
I'm French living in Ireland 38 years, and I'm in bits laughing! You are brilliant! Looking forward each Thursday so much!
More books for the great FAH library! 😂 The "if I just speak louder they'll definitely understand what I'm saying" bit was so accurate (for people from many countries).
Would be great if that would be a thing, the FAH library! 😛
I’m just imagining Anne’s face when she sees that painting. (Obviously Oisin won’t give it to her, but she’ll probably insist on cleaning out his luggage while complaining about how badly he folds clothes and then see the picture. I can imagine her face now. 🤣🤣)
I hope they do that sketch! @foilarmsandhog

There are two funny ways that she might react! Will she put it on the wall in the good room and make her son die of embarrassment, or will she be scandalized and insist "it's going to Oxfam"?
I have a feeling that painting will be 'lost' before Oisin gets home 😆! Thanks for the sketch, very funny!
Along with the painting of the The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies
Anne: How was France, Oisin?
Oisin: Ahm, ahm, great mum.
A: What did you do?
O: ...I read.
A: Really! And what did you read?
O: Books. Interesting books. French books.
A: Right. Did you see some art.
O: aha,
A: Are you hungry pet.
O: Yes mom,
A: Dinner will be (ring of the doorbell). Oh, that's your granny. Will you go let her in.
Oisin: (opens the door) Hi granny.
Gran: Hello pet. Come here and give your granny a kiss.
Oisin: No, no, no kissing. NOOO (he screams while traumatized curling up into fetus position, sobbing, in the corner of the room)
Anne: Oisin!
So much wine!
I love Oisin/Foil's looks of overwhelmed confusion! Very funny and very relatable!
Brilliant sketch lads! 😂
As an Englishman living in France I can’t tell you how accurate this is: I sent it immediately to my French teacher :)

As a Frenchman I can confirm it is quite accurate😂

Who would have thought you would ever hear Oisin say that he needs to go home?
He'll be dead by 20 living like that
Oh poor love, he was so stressed! Never thought he'd actually want to go home! Fabulous sketch, as ever!
As someone with autism and debilitating social anxiety, Oisín's awkwardness during the kissing part is more of a mood than I'd like to admit.
Since COVID a lot of people stopped doing "la bise" and I find it better.
I was slightly afraid they were going to start... French kissing.
Me too, and I´m not autistic ☺ It´s also a cultural thing, personal space means a lot in my country.
I guess that's as close as I'll ever get to my fah ot3..😂
@@martavdz4972out of curiosity, what country?
Thanks Anna, a very silly sketch this week, really good fun doing it and sharing our stories from the exchange days
@@foilarmsandhog which one of you went to France then?
That little hand wave for his wine at the end...chef's kiss!
Fair play Oisin 😂 thoroughly embracing the culture.
Anne will be livid when she finds out.
Absolutely, but as long as he gets an 'A' it will all be fine
So funny! While Oisin samples a bit of french decadence, I wonder if Barry is back home quietly looking through Anne's fridge for magnums or bread?
OMG, BARRY! 😂😂😂 Yes, what's HE getting up to? I wonder what he would be like as a foreign exchange student! Unlikely probably - too far from Anne's fridge! 😂 But I think he's full of surprises. He's a dark horse, that one!
No, he's looking for Ann...
Or, since Oisin is away, through her underwear drawer!🤫

This makes my exchange experience look very tame! 😂 I mainly remember the struggle to wake up with the complete black out from the shutters and a huge bowl of hot chocolate for breakfast ☕
The parents having lovers was so funny. 😂And poor Osian stuck in the middle.
I got a bit worried when the mother said "Oisin, you can't leave!"
Even though my own exchange-student time was a totally different animal, I still got flashbacks from the disorienting differences in personal space and alcohol consumption. Oisin's bewildered expression nails it 😂
Best one at the end when he finally gets comfy and just waits to be handed his cigarette and wine.😊

Sadly uk is a nation of sandwich eaters. It's so sad. Mostly eaten in ten minutes, not 30. There's no appreciation for the finer things in life. None at all.
The kissing bit is far too accurate!
Living in France for the past six years I’ve kissed strangers in greeting far more times than I’ve kissed my own parents.
Imagine how difficult it was when people couldn't do it due to C*vid! I was relieved but now I kind of miss it with my family

Iconic.
Anne is going to have a heart attack after hearing about her son's experience in France. I loved your attention to detail, including the wall paper. This was one of your funniest; will be watching on repeat for sure.
This brings back so many memories 😂 made me laugh out loud quite a few times.
Your French sounds quite good actually. I mean, I could make out half of the very loud French. Chapeau.
Bonne journée !
There's a funny expression for adultery in African French dialects : avoir un deuxième bureau / to have a second office
How on earth is there no cheese in the sketch? 🤣
Love the kiss on the cheek part, it even confuses French people themselves when they go to another region of the country 😂
Oisin is travelling around the world, just how rich is his family! 😂
Shit good point hha
Highschool exchanges inside of Europe are not that expensive😂 Put your child on a €9 flight with Ryanair, and just send them some pocket money. It will be less expensive than having them at home
I was just thinking the same 😂
Especially when it's been France twice now haha
@Allergy It was just a joke...
"Bonjour, are you American?"
"Eehhh no"
"Welcome"
Oisin is such a good kid covering up for Pierre 😂
As a Frenchman, I feel both attacked and very accurately represented. Lot of laugh
Oisín really gets around on this student exchange program. I agree we need one where the exchange student comes to Oisín’s house.
As an American living in France I especially enjoy the wallpaper with the random picture on the wall. It seems that wallpaper is everywhere and a different pattern in every room. Like they put it on and never redecorated. But it’s lovely 🥰
I couldn't stop laughing. It's an amazing video. Poor Oisin. I can't imagine how he'll tell all this to Anne. 😂😂
It’s a great business model this- mildly insult their culture in a really tasteful, hilarious way, then let them know you’re coming over for a gig 😂
Haha good point.
Bahahaaa!! You guys have had way too much fun with this one 😂
All to our benefit 😂😂😂
The part with the kisses is so funny! Foil, you tried to keep a straight face, but you almost cracked up at the end🤣
Fun fact: I grew up in France, and in some regions, you first kiss on the right cheek. In others, on the left...So we usually end up kissing on the lips! It might explain a lot about the French culture 😂
What's the point of even kissing each other in the first place?
@@AndreiBerezin don't know, & it was really confusing! 😅
@@AndreiBerezin It's a form of greeting. It's like asking what's the point in a handshake. There is no point, that's just what we do.

Hehehe, the [Louder French] was so accurate. I'm French and my S/O is Polish, and I've heard some older folks speak very clearly and politely, but extremely loudly at her 😂
And the only thing you forgot about the croissant for breakfast is to plunge it in the hot coffee 😅
The only time Oisín wants to go home & his mother didn't call him!? 😱 Anne has changed 😂
Maybe she forget about him, because she has a little fun for herself 🤫 and doesn't want him to know. Or she wants him to call her. And it's a trap. 😮
The best part is Oisin getting quite comfortable with the French ways in the end :)))
