One of the best themes in the game. I still remember my nervousness and slight disappointment when I visited this dungeon for the first time. I feared that everything would be answered once I talked to Xatu and I didn't want this game to end so soon. And I also thought that there had to be so much more dungeons - so there's no way that this would be the last one. Thankfully, I was right. As for my nervousness, I was afraid that things would spiral out of control after whatever Xatu would have to say. So yeah, I was slightly disappointed, fearing that this game would end soon, hopeful because I knew from various articles about this game that there were much more dungeons and nervous because I was somewhat afraid of whatever Xatu might know. Those things combined made my first exploration of this dungeon unforgettable.
Agh, my favorite. I remember coming into this dungeon when replaying the game not too long ago and trying to make it last as long as possible, haha. I kinda like the whole feel of it; like you're travelling to get answers about something, and you're not sure what's gonna happen, cause these answers could be a big deal, and stuff, y'know? Yeah.
Just found my DS yesterday after the best part of 7/8 years (I got it in about 2011 and played it for a good few years but then misplaced it). First thing I did was load up this. I'm not even a huge Pokémon fan, and this is the only Pokémon game I've ever played, but I was crying yesterday when I heard all of the old OSTs as I played through the dungeons, particularly this one. I'm so glad I found my DS and the track here on TH-cam. It reminds me of simpler times, when things were seemingly easier for everyone and we were all just in for the journey. If anyone sees this, I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do :)
MlpAtomicSpin Sure does! Can't believe this game is almost 10 years old now. Sometimes I feel like these songs almost transcend their medium. Luckily, we have lots remixes to satiate this yearning.
Bespinben Don't think of me as some rub it in kind of person, but I have this game in my collection. It's because of awesome tunes like this I'm glad I didn't sell it away.

This is my favourite PMD song, if not Pokémon as a whole. Always love listening to it and last night it randomly appeared in my dream so had to listen to it awake as well :)
I remember the absolute amazement I had seeing the great canyon in this game as a kid Almost 15 years later living in arizona I put this song on driving into Sedona for the first time with my gf and almost burst into tears watching the sun set over the red rocks as the nostalgia came flooding back.
Easily one of my favourite pieces of music in this game, I would sit there for hours, my pokemon hoping up and down pointlessly while I just closed my eyes and smiled.
The best mistake ive made in my life so far was thinking it was a "classic" pokémon game when i asked my parents to buy it with my birthday money. I was so young when i played it, it was like 2005 or 2006, and all the music themes are stuck in my head since. Absolute video game gem. I still have the same gameboy cardridge for over 16 years being in the slot of my GBA, and it never left it since i first plugged it in. I just cannot describe how this game changed my life over the course of the years, it had me buying every new PMD games after this one, even if the new ones doesn't really tastes the same (except for sky explorers). This specific song and the sky tower one are stuck in my head until i die, due to how magnificient they are, and how much i struggled finishing theses specific dungeons as a kid. Both have a fatalist melody, as with some hope at the end of the tunnel in their notes, depicting perfectly the game's story plot and catching the emotions you could feel climbing the dungeon, knowing what you are going to find up there. Thanks for everything.
One of the coolest things I ever got to experience in my life was playing this game when my family moved across the United States. Around the time I got to this part of the game, we were driving through Arizona and New Mexico, and we got to see a lot of Native American cultural landmarks and areas that were important to their heritage. Every time I hear this theme I think back to everything I saw and learned and I can't really think of a more fitting piece of music.
Whenever I accidentally look into the sun for too long, I think of Xatu. That's not even a thing from PMD specifically, it's just a Xatu quirk, but this music just made me think of it
So I'm not the only one who loved this track. The difference in views when compared to the others speaks volumes... I just love this track so much, it's so special to me 💚
I find myself whistling this tune incessantly every now and then, 10+ years after the game was even made. That's how you know it's good song writing lmao
This was my first Mystery Dungeon game I ever got. I remember getting a used version of this from Gamestop, and the data was never erased! So whoever had the game before me got ALL of the legendaries! XD

I remember playing this game for the first time. I turned out being an Eevee. I guess I was rather naive back then. XD I remember I didn't want to continue with the plotline because of this dungeon. It was great to train in, since I was rather low-leveled, and the music was fantastic. I never truly got into listening to soundtracks until I heard this song. I love it to death; it shall forever be my favorite OST song ever.
this music always made me feel like i was in an old western movie. it conjures up an image of a cowboy riding a horse through a desert. the hill of the ancients in the remake also reminds me a lot of cliff town from spyro 1 (not the music, just the visuals)
definetlly one of the best themes in the game, if not in the whole pokemon franchise
agreed!! this song is so underrated I honestly can't believe it! This should of been in Smash Bros Wii U. >.

To turn and reverse the past.
Ho, oh, run away,
Seek the victory to repay.
See, now, how we’ve known
in the end, we are alone.
how the hell could SIX people dislike this epicness?
REMAKE IS COMING BOIIIIIS
I got so happy when they added this in one of the DLCs in Gates to Infinity! ;3; This is by far one of my top favourite songs in the first pmd
I remember playing this game for the first time. I turned out being an Eevee. I guess I was rather naive back then. XD
I remember I didn't want to continue with the plotline because of this dungeon.
옛날에 PC로 체험판 버전인 황금구조대 했었는데 그때 체험판으로 가능했던 던전이 여기까지여서 제일 기억에 남음.
Ohhhh im so excited to hear the remaster of this...
Pokémon mystery dungeon music is the best music in the whole franchise period.
@@ampharos3106 Yep. Sadly other pmd games don't have this great of an ost.
@@lorenzomanzoni9693 Literally every pmd game has a kickass ost
Man I never even got to play pmd1 but somehow this song is still nostalgia-bombing me
These games have amazing soundtracks! Especially mystery dungeon Explorer of Sky!
Oh man I'd forgotten how kickass PMD1 songs were.
I cant wait to finish my PMD2 soundtrack remasters so i can get to remastering the PMD1 soundtrack istg, and the first song ill start with is this one
