To paraphrase for relevancy - Stellantis CEO: "I told you that my business plan would take the company places. I never said they'd be places we wanted to go."
Pretty unfortunate what Stellantis did to their dealerships. Almost seems like they intended to screw them. Maybe a play to move toward a Tesla style model. The precedent has been set, it's only a matter of time before the direct-to-consumer racket takes hold outside of Elmo's little monopoly.
Guess with all those sales numbers going down for stellantis, it's probably time for them to raise the prices again, that was they can still make money selling less cars. Isn't that how Carlos would have done it?
Big SUVs are moving to smaller ones except for the $$$$ earners. The average consumer is buying only what they need. Smaller houses, smaller garages, smaller vehicles. Jeep wrangler unlimited was reasonable and cool looking. Now it is way too expensive for a horrible long trip vehicle. I think people bought one but never another one!
This discount will sell more cars, eventually all car makers will definitely shut their factories in US, it’s becoming too expensive to make a car here specially after thalassemia labor contract that boosted hour wages by more than 50%.
I like to search for multiple cars and compare. Example, right now I'm looking for Hondas and Toyotas with non cvt transmission. So I use auto trader to find the cars, then use car edge to filter out cvt. If CE search allowed multiple vehicle search no more auto trader.
People buy Hyundai and Kia simply because they are cheap and what a lot of people can afford. They find out they are junk, but at least it gets them in a new car somewhat affordably.
You people are just jealous. Carlos Tavares invented the reversal of the celebrated business strategy of a trader selling goods below his cost but making it up on volume. Tavares said let's aim for stratospheric vehicle margins paired with sales approaching zero. That's how he earned $40M in 2023, praise from Bloomberg writers, and Fortune 100 Most Powerful People in Business ranking. I wish I could have thought of it but I am not in his class of financial wizardry.

From my experience, fully 80% of car dealers are indeed, immoral, unethical, and dishonest [looking at you Honda dealers]. But like you said, there are a few dealers out there that do it honestly [Brian Harris BMW].
I don't think stellantis has truly seen the worst. While im no fan, I don't really blame them so much. They tried to hike the covid prices and maximize their profit and this was a mistake. It will take a while for them to regain market share and they will need to pay the piper in order to get out of this.
Yet their cars are so overpriced even as of today. No deals. Dealers do not want to negotiate better prices. Just walked out of a few dealers due to this and not buying their product line.
Hyundai and Kia are slightly cheaper, however they have a longer warranty than alot of other mfg's if i remember correctly. I do not think their reliability is great, but the price seems to be winning. That invoice was total crap, which is why no dealers or auto mfg's should be bailed out when they start failing...
The craziest part about stellantis is that while sale volume was going down by 2019, they were stll raising priceses.
Thats because they were maintaining the same profit margin. Then, doing stock buybacks to keep the stock high. But, I really believe that the horrendous quality and denying warranty work is a much bigger issue

How nissan is able to build the GTR but most of their other cars are sshhiyt is crazy imo
I like to search for multiple cars and compare. Example, right now I'm looking for Hondas and Toyotas with non cvt transmission. So I use auto trader to find the cars, then use car edge to filter out cvt. If CE search allowed multiple vehicle search no more auto trader.
Cat burgler in the background?
The width and height of the graph , determines the the degree of the slope line.😊
Make reliable products and sell them at reasonable prices. They do neither.
I don’t use your car search because there is no way to filter Cummins high output Ram heavy duty trucks.
They haven’t spiraled anywhere, management drove them directly into the disaster where they currently find themselves.
Stellantis flooded the market with (overpriced) trucks the people couldn't afford. Now they can sweat it out.
The math is very simple. Wages are flat since 1985 when a new vehicle was $10,000 and now That equivalent new vehicle is $40,000
Tavares would have been gone earlier, but the company was still making massive profits.
$50 oil change? Sign me up! You shouldn’t get an oil change past 5K miles. What year does Ray think we’re in? 😂
Jack Don’t Know Jack About Cars…But Ray Don’t Know Jack About HVAC 😂
Like someone is going to steal a Kia! What a scam.
Make that 60% and maybe I would think about it. Junk is still junk at any price!
Never going to happen.
@ You got that right!
People buy Hyundai and Kia simply because they are cheap and what a lot of people can afford. They find out they are junk, but at least it gets them in a new car somewhat affordably.
Ray said, "Hit the Road, Jack!" Great rant, Ray!
Nice how ford has been making up grades nice V8 aluminum body amongst other things. What has ram done?? Nothing just raise prices
Stellantis is the Clown-Show of auto making .
I saw that moment of pride on Ray's face when Zach made a dirty joke.
Appreciate you guys 🙏
Appreciate YOU!

You asked why I’m not using you to shop for my car…
While I am a subscriber for over a year, I found it difficult to find the basic information needed like invoice pricing. Likely, it’s user error on my side - I abandoned my efforts to realize the benefits of your site. That said, as I mentioned, I’m still a paid subscriber - and watch your videos weekly.
They've carpet-bombed their own reputation. I agree.
How many months have you been saying, this is it! THIS IS THE END! And the prices never come.
Everybody finally tired of 70 grand and up for a normal pickup truck? They think they are selling the rolls royce of trucks!
What's going on in the background? Lol
Yet their cars are so overpriced even as of today. No deals. Dealers do not want to negotiate better prices. Just walked out of a few dealers due to this and not buying their product line.
Why lie?
Hyundai and Kia are slightly cheaper, however they have a longer warranty than alot of other mfg's if i remember correctly. I do not think their reliability is great, but the price seems to be winning. That invoice was total crap, which is why no dealers or auto mfg's should be bailed out when they start failing...
