      Agreed! Despite being a PoGo player since the start, I never played the original games so I have absolutely no clue what I’m doing most of the time when it comes to any kind of battling. Now that winning battles is a mandatory part of some of the level-up tasks, I’d love to see a back-to-basics type primer to help me be a bit less clueless.

    • @filipledin6548

      Brandon Tan did a test comparing a 0% tyrannitar against a 100% tyrannitar. he did the same raid twice and the shadow did it in 13 sek and the none shadow in 17. So shadow pokemons are worth it even if their IVs are just decent.

    I'd say that recommendation for Zarude is a bit of a reach outside of players that are swimming in rare candy looking for ANYTHING to dump it in, because as you said, Zarude is only barely top 10 GRASS, and unless you're ridiculously unlucky with Shadow pokemon and/or incredibly impatient and CANNOT wait for Sceptile (I'm not sure if there's a string of legendaries coming soon weak to grass or w/e), upgrading Zarude is way way WAY on the backburner

  • @pozestillusion
    @pozestillusion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'd love it if you'd make a video featuring future feature requests from the community.
    Here's my wishlist:
    Pokemon Tracker-- In the same way that the game automatically prioritizes pokemon that you've never caught and are silhouettes, I want to be able to tell the game to prioritize pokemon that I have already caught, either because I need the candy or the pokemon is rare. Maybe at a certain level you can select the pokemon you want to be alerted about, maybe your Team Leader could pop up or even give us a long quest line to unlock the feature. It will encourage excerice by motivating people to get out and walk for the things they want.
    Bottle Cap-- Some kind of long quest line where you choose a pokemon and do the quests ultimately resulting in a +1 stat increase, maybe unlocked as an option after a pokemon becomes a best buddy.
    Pokemon Camp-- Just like in sword and shield, I'd love a camp to have a place to interact more with my pokemon and--even better--to see them interact with each other. I'd love some minigames to be able to play to potentially boost friendship or unlock other bonuses.
    Quality of Life Requests:
    -Start raid button or solo raid button, especially for 1 and 3 star raids (less time standing in place--more time to explore)
    -Ability to remote raid at gyms where you have a defender
    -If you’re close enough to put a lure on a stop, you should be able to see and catch the pokemon that spawn because of the lure
    -Feeding berries in a gym should count as feeding berries to a pokemon for field research
    -A way to trade with our lucky friends that are long distances away. Even if it's one "extra" special distance trade a month or an event bonus.

    • @udajs
      @udajs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great suggestions. I really miss the 40 km trade distance OR mass trading. Even if mass trading would result in less lucky chance or lower IV outcome I would do it for candies and especially candy XL.

  • @Merennulli
    @Merennulli 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Now I need to decide if I want to start powering up my 98% purified Gardevoir or keep hoping I get a hundo. I have a shadow that would become a hundo, but the odds of getting a good shadow again are much lower than getting a hundo from mega Gardevoir raids or a random Ralts research task.
    EDIT: If you're looking for more topics like this: What Pokemon to have a squad of for raids; what Pokemon have potential relevance that have yet to come out; an updated review of PvP and PvE info resources; maybe a prep guide like this specifically targeted at the remaining mega legendary raids; or perhaps a segment on Pokemon that would be great if Niantic gives them their signature move or some other move they have in the main series.

    02:01 🦅 Moltres (Shadow and non-Shadow) is the best non-Mega Flying-type attacker, providing strong DPS and TDO.
    03:23 ⚡️ Zekrom is a solid Electric-type attacker, but Shadow Raikou, Shadow Electivire, and Shadow Zapdos can outperform it in damage.
    04:47 👻 Mega Gengar is the top Ghost-type attacker with Shadow Claw or Lick and Shadow Ball.
    05:57 🧚‍♀️ Mega Gardevoir is the best non-Mega Fairy-type attacker, outshining other options like Togekiss.

    Nick, long time fan - thanks for this. Regarding this video and the one prior, what type of IV’s should we be looking for? PVP IV’s or simply high IV’s? Perhaps the determining factor should be how the Pokémon will be used(?)

      All of these want to be 100% if possible. (Zarude is a you get what you get when it comes to ivs.) You are powering them up way past the great and ultra league cp ranges so pvp ivs won't be useful at all.

    Awesome video! I absolutely LOVE when you gush over Zarude because I was one of the first in the world to get the hundo 😅 Always glad to see it on the lists of great Pokemon ☺️
    As for something else, maybe a list of best gym defenders/attackers and movesets for them.

    Hey Nick! thank you for these back to basics videos! I love watching the fun and community in your blogs and have started to get back out and play, even recruited some new friends to Pokemon Go but i guess its been a while so these videos rly help with the journey to finally break lvl 40. I've been meaning to ask if you can cover IVs, specifically how you choose to power up certain pokemon, I've watched in other videos you check IVs and are rly excited when it's only a 2 star pokemon , or how you're sometimes disappointed by 3 stars. Are the factors different between checking IVs for raid counters or pvp pokes to power up?

    • @cptsetsiyah1729
      @cptsetsiyah1729 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes theyre different, generally in pvp you want low attack with high defense and hp although the exact perfect iv varies slightly from pokemon to pokemon (could be that for one pokemon 1/14/15 is perfect and for another its 0/15/13, for example).

    Also, since I dont have a community to do bigger raids. I Focus on walking with certain pokemon each day to get the mega evolution candy.

  • @hyphen2612
    @hyphen2612 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only way to power up Zarude or Meloetta right now is just to buy a bunch of raid tickets and farm the raid reward's rare candies. Although sometimes you can get rare candy field research by spinning stops but they're far and in between, I wouldn't waste my time looking for those. Walk them will get you candies, but it's waaaaaaay too slow. Just raid and farm unless you have too much time on your hands.

    I have already spent over 5 million dust based on your great suggestions.
    Those rare candies weigh heavy on my item capacity and i am glad to be able to spend them.
    I must admit, i am a notorious hoarter when it comes to leveling up / evolving, because of possible community days etc.
    But it really took a toll on my raid performance over all. And i bet i am not alone here. Gotta spend them all :D

    Hey! It would be nice to get some information about iv on shadow pokemon compared to the normal version of the pokemon. As mentioned shadow Mamoswine is great but at what iv does that change for shadow pokemon. Its kinds sad to throw so much stardust into a low Iv shadow pokemon.
    Keep up the great content :D

      the worst shadow mamoswine is still going to be better than the best regular mamoswine. i try to get a decent shadow iv though haha because as you said it’s kinda sad powering up a low iv shadow. - but they are still very good
