You got any advice for a headset i can buy for my ps3 ? I connected my wireless headset but it is not working for the sound, only the mic worka, i guess its because it does not contain that usb thing. So do you know any headset that is compatabile with ps3 ?
The PS3 can only output audio via HDMI or Optical Out. The closest newer headset that would work with a PS3 (that I know of) is the Turtle Beach Ear Force Elite 800
Guys it does work on the regular blue PS4 headset on a PS3 (stock non jailbroken PS3). Here's the part that almost caught me off guard almost making me believe that it wouldn't work. After connecting the dongle it won't immediately work, for whatever reason Sony has to complicate things... After plugging in the dongle, on your headset there are two rocker volume looking buttons, one is for Volume, the other one (which also looks like a Volume button on the opposite side of the same earphone) will say SOUND/CHAT. Press the stupid SOUND button once to activate it. After this press and hold the + VOLUME key to max out the headset volume. Now play / move around in the menu and you should now hear the little clicks from the main menu! Voila! Done! Go in game and enjoy sound finally!!! Also to add more to make things more complicated, i had rebooted my PS3 and no longer had volume output on headphones, had to unplug and re plug the wireless usb dongle and it started working again FFS, nothing is ever simple i guess.
There is no sound button on the pulse 3d headset only chat and game tried them both it doesnt work. Why would you make a long post just for it to be bullshit?
Okay so the headset works sort of. In the audio settings you can test your mic and you hear your voice in the headset. I tried playing it in a game and there was no sound output in the headset or my TV

That is sad, I think I will buy an extra golden wireless headset in case the ones that I have stop working, I was expecting this new headset to work with the ps3
I haven't tested it yet, but it should work with a DAC. If you use an optical cable plugged in to the optical out on your PS3 and the othe end in the DAC and plug the Pulse adapter in the DAC's USB, I think it should work.

Sony / PlayStation is a business first and foremost so they are in the business to make money and they cant do that if every legacy console worked with current accessories such as head sets. This was just a stupid experiment I did and had no idea the video would get the traction it has
1:25 it's not stupid, it's simply removing the variables. Also the note about the bluetooth vs the radio frequency doesn't matter. The headset it speaking with the dongle, the PS3 isn't taking in the dongle as audio. This video also doesn't confirm whether you touched on the accessory setting's output.

If I remember correctly the ps3 didn't allow all the sound through any headset. Just in game voice chat. Why didn't you go online and see if you could talk and listen to other people?
I would have had to load up or downlead a PS3 multiplayer game, would have had to find another person in game that had a headset and actually wanted to talk. Being that the PS3 is a dead platform that was way too much effort than what I wanted to put in for this video. You're more than welcome to give it a shot though if you want to test it out.

I know it's a headset for a newer console, but it's kind of bullshit that they can pump out all these accessories for consoles that are useless outside of their generation. Obviously you can't expect this to work with somthing like the ps1, but it's the same technology basically why can't they release a software update so that people who still own a ps3 can use their ps5 headset? It's so greedy.

Turtle beach makes decent headsets that should still work with the PS3, as far as the PS4 I’d use the pulse headset for the PS5. It will work on the PS4, also the Sony platinums are good for the PS4 but the pulse 3D is more comfortable
just so people know it's nothing special sure it's got some good sound but feel's like a cheap pair of headsets its all hyped up only look's nice unfortunately the ps5 will give you the full effects I had to get get a 2-year warranty just because my silver gold and platinum all broke and I feel this one will snap at some point -but yes I agree I wish it would work on the ps3( update surprisingly alot stronger headband but my ears hurt after. I've had the Platinum's since day 1 and I have the old PS3 pulse head sets. Both still work, neither are broken. I do not foresee the 3D pulse breaking at any point ether. I do not see how you think they are hyped and they do not feel cheap at all.
@@shadowxphoenix8674 I've never bought the extended warranty with any electronics or console accessories and over the years I've only had issues with two things, an LG sound system and an LG TV which was fixed under its one year warranty. I just bought an LG CX 65" OLED for the PS5 and did not get an extended warranty with that either. Maybe I just have good lucks with electronics. All my previous playstation systems still work as well.
@@Lethal_Venom my gold headset (the first one) broke the right side snapped and the pleather degraded and fell off as well. I do have the ps5 3d pulse now but damn I hope its better quality.
I just put one on Ebay lol. Usually I'm not the type to do that I'd prefer to help people who cant get one and sell it for MSRP but I'm building my 04 Terminator Cobra and its expensive. I got one on launch day and just got an e-mail from sony to buy one from them a few days ago, that's how I got the second one.
Can you explain how because there is nothing online stating that and the last firmware update was for Blu ray updates and security on 12/3/20. Nothing to do with adding functionality to the Pulse 3D headset
@@poltergeist7621 It works on the Switch. I've used it for quite a while. But I have no need to anymore, as it has regular Bluetooth functionality. So I'm not really tied down to just the Pulse 3D headsets in case they end up breaking or something.

The weird thing is, it works kinda, the microphone works without problem and the System recognizes the Headset, but the Audio won’t work

Are tou referring to the Sony Gold wireless headset? The old one (mentioning ps3 on the box) or the newer one (not mentioning ps3 on the box)?
For those wondering the ps3 recongnizes the headset and also you can use it just for the mic. You do not get any audio though.
