      @@Kevin-uz6sv My VMP was definitely audible at WOT, I have a short video and a longer video on the VMP vs Pullied Eaton whine. The whipple in my last video on the dyno also whined quite well. Mine is hard to hear over my exhaust due to the long tubes and no cats but that’s being resolved. One factor to consider is the pulley size being run, smaller pulley = more whine but also brings along more issues with belt slip

    Good personal assessment on each blower, their pros and cons. Each of us have different goals for our cars and varying budget constraints and time to consider when selecting the appropriate blower.

    • @Lethal_Venom
      @Lethal_Venom  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's definitely true. And with blowers the adage of bigger is better is not always the case. If I had the option to straight up trade my 2.3 for 3.0 whipple I wouldn't. Both the Gen3R and 2.3 whipple are great blowers the big negatives being the non removable elbow for Whipple and the crap throttle body that comes with the VMP kit. Better off buying the blower / intake / TB separately. My gripe is that they offer it with the kit with such low quality for such an expensive package.

    • @ScoopsSVT
      @ScoopsSVT 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The removable TB is a big selling point for me personally as I like accessibility when performing maintenance. I wonder with careful/precise machining if the Whipple could be fabbed with removable elbow and fitted with good gasket. Not sure if Whipple left enough material for tapping and bolts.

    • @Lethal_Venom
      @Lethal_Venom  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ScoopsSVT That could be a big reason where they wanted more airflow to make that inlet bigger at the cost of not being able to remove the elbow. I’d say you were spot on with the 2.3 whipple hitting harder down low compared to the larger ones. That’s what I’ve heard from others as well. I had a 2.3, but never installed it and sold it. Gonna enjoy the ported/pullied Heaton for now!

    I'm really glad you made this video. I've been meaning to reach out to you to see your opinion of both blowers as you've experienced both. I'm really wanting to try the gen3r on the dsg. • @Lethal_Venom
      @Lethal_Venom  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The Gen3R is an amazing blower so my best advise about it is not buying the kit that includes the throttle body. You will hate your life using that thing. Get the Gen3R and 5" intake separately and get something else for the TB. I'm running the LFP with the whipple and I'm really happy with that one.

      @Lethal_Venom yea I'll definitely take your advice on that. I see that they sell just the blower itself now. I'd just get the whipple 5" intake, and gt500 throttle body if I do end up switching blowers

    3 Cobras on Pete's dyno the same day. A 2.3 Whipple, 2.3 VMP(mine), and 2.2 Kenne Bell. All running within a pound or so of boost with each other. There was less than a 20 pound HP spread between them. They are all pretty equal with propper supporting mods and tuning. Your point about pros and cons of each is right on. It really is personal preference. For a max effort build there may be a standout, but the smaller blowers are pretty close to each other.

    • @Lethal_Venom
      @Lethal_Venom  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have no doubt my Gene3R with a smaller pulley and E85 would smoke my whipple 2.3 on the same set up but given the constraints of 93 octane they are very comparable. All the blowers you mentioned are great blowers the only main difference being that the newer ones ( Whipple / VMP ) are more efficient than the KB but that does not mean they don't make power. Recent video I did on a friends with a 2.3 whipple at 18 PSI made 650 and another friend with a 2.6 KB and 21 PSI made 630 but that means nothing when being done on different days / weather. What did your vmp 2.3 put down and with what mods? Any interest in trading for a whipple 2.3 lol. That VMP 2.3 is still my favorite blower

    New subscriber to your channel here. Great video.
    I went from a 2.3 Gen 2 Whipple with a 3.00 upper pulley to a 3.0 Gen V Whipple with a 3.00 upper.
    Many days I miss the 2.3. The 3.0 is lazy down low compared to the 2.3, how ever mid range and up top it’s absolutely insane.
    If I could do it again I would have stayed with the 2.3 and done a 2.95 upper and 2/4lb lower.
    Down the road I’m going to do head studs and add a 2lb lower to the current Gen V set up. I’m not sure what the car is making now but it’s tuned by Dunn on E85 at 25/26lbs of boost.
    And just to add, working on the car with the Gen V is an absolute nightmare. There is minimal room to do regular maintenance and I have broken multiple TPS sensors because it sits so close to the strut tower. The fact that the blower does not come with a removable elbow is a major major fail. The other issue is the massive throttle body. Tuning was very difficult and I still have cold start issues, along with many others.

      @@Svt01Snake Thank you for the support. That reinforces what a lot of people have said in regard to the 2.3 vs bigger blowers. I have a 6# lower now and I was bleeding off boost when it was tuned due to the factory boost line not being connected. I made 18 psi then so if I’m at or over 20 when I go back with the upgraded fuel pumps I’ll look into doing a smaller lower and slightly dropping the upper. I try and keep my eye on the boost when doing a pull but I can’t just stare at it for long.
      That set up must be a monster up top and mid range. What throttle body do you have on it now? The LFP has been great for me

    First of all you can get a vmp elbow for stock/bbk/accufab/lfp or dragon throttle body. The vmp you have to dent the crossover but you dont lose room behind the blower like with a whipple , you say the elbow makes servicing easier try working on stuff behind the bigger whipples.they are right against the firewall. Price point vmp is cheaper so no coolant crossover makes it cheaper than bigger whips. I have installed and serviced all, vmps my favorite to work on.
