I heard one last fall during leaf cleanup, the town has some kinda early 80s international with a big box on the back for leaf pickup. I couldn't believe my ears at first.
Nothing sweeter than the sound of those 2-stroke Detroit Diesel engines! Thanks so very much for sharing that with us!! The first Diesel engine I worked on as a young mechanic was a Detroit Diesel 8V-71 in a old International Transtar! The first thing that we did to it was put straight pipes on! Great memories!!,
My Grandparents lived across the street from the Wonder Bread plant/bakery in Pawtucket RI and when I visited I would fall asleep at night listening to the truck coming and going. Best sounding trucks ever! I'll never forget it.😊
Wow, Brockways and Peterbilts, as well as ending it with that cool little Brockway service truck. If I could have ordered a video, this would have been it. Happy Holidays and keep sharing your passion
Wow, best video i have watched a long time, never owned a 2 stroke Detroit but driven several of them in Terex loading shovels back in the 80s, those trucks are rare in my country but on my bucket list to own, I have Cummins in my 55 Chevy 5100 and 76 Ford F350. Love from England bro.
My 528cc wankel rotary makes way more HP per lbs!can any of these detroit 2 stroke power a plane? Im sure a 12v71 can run in any tilted position running klotz techiniplate with oil injection!
@bws1971 Upon further examination, I noticed it's two GMC Astro cabs grafted together, and then to "top it off (pun intended)" the roof is that of a Kenworth K100 Aerodyne.
God, I love the sound of a screamin' Jimmy. My dad drove an off-highway KW log truck with a 12V-71 in the 70s. Dad went deaf in his left ear from it!
I miss that sound! It's been 25+ years since I've heard one in California!

There ain't no more beautiful motor music than a 2 stroke Detroit. I've got my dope fix for today.
How about the 300XS optimax that sounds good to.
Thanks for the love brother 🤟🤟 great video!
You are doing the Lord's work keeping these old rigs in running shape.
@@Dailydieseldose315 we're trying 🤟🤟
@@Ol2Stroker what 2 stroke oil you all running? Are some of these detroit 2 stroker running alchohol.
Best rock concert ever!
Detroit Diesel......Turning fuel into sweet noise

Golden oldies are some of these trucks, awesome sounds with Detroit diesel power.

Detroit is the best

Nothing sounds like a screaming jimmy that 2 stroke design spins twice as fast as all the others. Good job on the compilation video ❤✌️🤗🙌👍🙏☝️👌⛽️
No.Just sounds that way.2100 rpm was pushing the limit.
@@MultiCrusher2 It fires twice as fast, spins just as slow
@@willbill808 Yes it does,I had a 2-53 in a John Deere dozer and i also ran 8v71s in trucks.Miss those days.
Actually spins no faster than a Cummins, but fires 2x as often. Every downstroke is a power stroke. Like a giant chainsaw, but no oil mixing.
Did I just see old mossey Rollin up in there, damn I love that truck so bad ass 💪💯✌️

Love listening to those old Detroits
Great vid thanks ! Rarely saw anything fitted with a Detroit in Europe back in the day,
Cummins mainly and highly regarded 👍
I saw old Petebilt 379 at a car show in Slovenia couple years ago. Man, that thing looks and sounds great, especially on small European roads.
Detroit's sound way better then an x15 Cummins that's for sure
Gotta love Ol2Stroker big Bertha! ❤️
another great video. Thanks for posting
Very cool! amazing collection well done! very cool to see all these old rigs
Love hearing those Detroits
Mann, thee ol Detroit sound, much love, thank you for the comp!!!

I cannot not imagine a better sound!
The 850's in the snowmobiles today sound pretty good and makes a hell of lot more power per CID than any of these detroits.
Those old trucks mean so much to me because those are the trucks that made america
Great vid, really enjoyed!!
That full race sound, built in from the factory 😄
Castor 927 maxima 2 stroke oil too. i ran quicksilver twc3 through a 6-71 worked great.
Actually its not the oil that is speced and it make some detroit guys/gals cringe it will work as its straight weigh low ash.
Great video! Had to turn the volume up! 🙂
Another great video!
I just hope I can find a good Ole truck with a Detroit in it some day
Love it, music to my ears.:)
Cool thanks mate
Awesome, love the brockways and the KB international with straight pipe .
Some of them might be running on E-85 which would be nice as its 105 octane, detriot did an 8v92 on ethanol once.
Good oh WAYNO love his pete
Aaahhhhhh the Detroit Diesel. If it will power Chuck Norris' beard trimmer, it will move a fully loaded eighteen wheeler.
12v92 sound is the best yumyum with twin stacks and the best G,M motor ever built diesel smoke makes my feel worm fuzzy 😂🤣
Love the sound!
Do a lucid air motor swap
Im sure any of these 2 stroke detroits can run on klotz techiniplate tilted in any position like my wankel rotary 528cc 2 stroke snowmobile engine!
Hey buddy good to. See you Wayne
That’s big Bertha on the cover pic!!
Bent Yamahammers... the loudest and best sounding way to go nowhere fast and still look cool doin it...
I need a feature on that Maximum Overdrive 🤯😁🤔
Thanks man, is your ol Brockway in there?
TY
They all sound awesome, but the 12v brockway with quad stacks.....f#@k yeah !
1:03
My uncle worked for Rosen brothers the scrap king drove a Brockway. My dad did too for the town of preble
How can I put this in a spotify playlist? Anyone know? Thanks in advance.
Please let me know what the price is and wheel base is tks Dave
What Detroit is in the old GMC @ 3:00 minutes?
What is that glorious monstrosity of an amalgamation of who knows how many trucks at 11:00?
To me (willing to be corrected) it appears to be a GMC Brigadier front end, with a GMC Astro cabover cab, and one-off big bunk grafted to that.
@@dmphillips Your guess is as good as anyone's. It's a mind-blowing amalgamation
@bws1971 Upon further examination, I noticed it's two GMC Astro cabs grafted together, and then to "top it off (pun intended)" the roof is that of a Kenworth K100 Aerodyne.
Greta " how dare you," lol
Only improvement I could think of is to make a smaller and lighter version of these, with indirect injection to allow higher revs…
City?
Can you please bring back snow plows
ITS A PARADE OF SCREAMIN GREEN LEAKERS!!!!!!!!
Oil injection at its finest, ughh them damn ole all roller bearing crankshafts!
Detroit V8-71
8v71 running on silicon nitride ceramic bearings with silkolene pro 2 SX synthetic 2 stroke oil hell yeah!
Que de chouettes camions
Where and when was this show?
There was footage from a few different shows. Thumbnail shot is from the ATHS show in Balston Spa, NY

Nothing like a good Yamaha to rattle my memory banks.
Banshee or the snowmobiles?
Love the old detroits but they eill make you deaf lol
La época cuando Detroit Diesel , eran fiables y duraderos , desde que GM le vendió Detroit Diesel a Mercedes Benz a estado decayendo.........
