Thanks Terry! I picked up my daughter's ukulele a couple of weeks ago thinking I would just plunk around on it. Haven't been able to put it down. I think it is an intuitive instrument to learn and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Lots of good content on your channel; thanks again!
What great advice from the man, Terry Carter who has been a major part of me becoming the Ukulele player I am today. I joined the ‘Uke like the pros’ community, watched and took part in Terry’s lessons, watched his videos and have never looked back. Playing the Ukulele has given me so much pleasure and confidence, and with the live Q&A sessions each week I now am privileged to play with Ukulele players all over the world.
This was great, I've been looking for "how do you play songs on the ukulele?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Fenaylern Nonpareil Formula - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to play the ukulele like a pro minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my friend got great success with it.
hey ,if anyone else wants to learn about easy ukulele songs for beginners free try Pycanta Amazing Ukulele Protocol (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate got great results with it.
@@arquimedesamaya5650 Hey! I never played an instrument lol! But idk the ukelele has something special. I really want to learn it. But with no experience, how long will it take before I can play some songs do you think?
I played guitar for 2-3 years when I bought my first ukulele, it was a cheap soprano. It took mr about a day to play a lot of basic chords. It isn't really hard.
Just signed up for your level 1 course, only have completed a few lessons but am really enjoying it so far. It is such a fun instrument to play. I am still working on the fundamentals... smoothly switching between chords has been a challenge but I'm practicing and getting a little better each day. Looking forward to continuing with the course, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us newbies!
Terry, I like this and one thing I would like to understand better is a practice routine.Amount of time for each practice session, how much practice for each lesson before you move forward to the next lesson? Should one learn to read music while going through bootcamp? I know each person is different but there might be a good general rule. Thanks, Tom
Just bought my first ukelele, love the sound of finger picking and some mutes would love to be able to play things like somewhere over the rainbow I’ve got 0 musical skill at present
@@enoo9003 yes I was a total beginner and no I picked up a few chords but it never really progressed from there so I gave the uke to my daughter in the hope she may learn it
Just found this video. Good straight forward advice. I'm soooo new to the Ukulele that my first one is still somewhere on a UPS truck headed to my home. :-)
Good advice, Terry! I'm still far from a pro, but I'm certainly seeing constant improvement as I follow along in the Q and A. That has really helped me. When I first started playing the uke, I found a song I wanted to play that was way past my skill level.. I worked on it for MONTHS with very little success. Then I accidentally found your site. Wow, what a difference! (I"m almost ready to go back and try that song again :>!)
If I learn this, I can finally fulfil my dream of playing in church! I play piano but playing piano in church is very advanced level for me so I just sing in the choir lol.
I've always wanted to start playing an instrument to start playing songs I enjoy singing, recently I've been watching a lot of anime. The music in anime is always amazing. I mainly want to play that sort of thing, but didn't really know which instrument to go with. I'm thinking of the ukulele after seeing this video.
I just bought a tenor Kala KA-T model. Very well made, nice finish, looks good, plays in tune, nice tone. If your after cheaper tenor this one is good.
This is just superb, I been tryin to find out about "how long does it take to learn the ukulele?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Fenaylern Nonpareil Formula - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a good one of a kind guide for discovering how to play the ukulele like a pro without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my friend got amazing success with it.
After trying for several years to play the Ukelele I came across Arthurs Uke Blog and this appears to be the top online system (google it if you're interested)
dont forget to be realistic - you will need to put in some work whatever plan you decide on for becoming a pianist I have spent months researching into teaching yourself uke and discovered an awesome website at Arthurs Uke Blog (google it if you're interested)
I can’t believe this channel doesn’t have a million followers- Terry’s courses and ukes are top notch!

I'm really surprised this channel doesn't have like 2M subscribers bc the content is so good, really professional!
I really appreciate you mentioning to focus on one type of playing and then branch into others
I played guitar for 2-3 years when I bought my first ukulele, it was a cheap soprano. It took mr about a day to play a lot of basic chords. It isn't really hard.
But you already have the basic from playing guitar which is easier on simple thing like struming, how to hold it and so on. That's way easier for you.

Learning the Ukulele is actually easy for me since I have a decent experience with guitar before I learned how to play one.

Were u a total beginner right? Have u been able to improve? I’ve been wanting to get an uke but I have no music experience.

Great tips
Thank you
Thank you very much for the info. Im a beginner with zero knowledge...
I’m all geared up to buy my ukulele now. 😁
Which one is the easiest between Strumming , finger picking or solo.
To me the strumming was the first to concor
I found the strumming the easiest. Keeping in mind that I only just tried finger picking about a week ago and am still pretty terrible at it!!
Depends on the person. Fingerpicking is way easier for me than strumming. Solo usually involves both so that's probably harder
If I learn this, I can finally fulfil my dream of playing in church! I play piano but playing piano in church is very advanced level for me so I just sing in the choir lol.
2:56 what the song name?
I feel this guys spends more time showing off his skills in these videos, than teaching smth

Too good..
The neck is too small and I'm struggling to press the note while having a good grip on it. Helpp
Im going to start but where do i get a uke
just ordered one on amazon
I'm a begginer I don't even have a Ukulele yet so can you suggest one I don't want it to be over a 150 dollars since I'm a begginer

I need to know what uke you actually use
I play a KoAloha Koa wood Tenor, usually with Low G
@@Ukelikethepros thx cant believe you actually replied
Leart the uke in just a few hours
This video is a commercial. Long-winded speaker loves to hear himself talk.
