Last week I attended the Ducati Media day at Henry's car barn, I got to ride this Ducati Scrambler Full Bottle as well as the Diavel V4 which you can see in my other video. There's also a lovely cameo from a 66 Ford Mustang in here too!
In this video I discuss what this motorbike is like to ride, how it handles, stopping power, power and acceleration, and is it too small for taller riders?

Love the review! Especially the part about the distraction by the 60s Ford Mustang. Classic! Maybe you can do a collab video next time where you review both the Ducati and the Mustang
Really nice bike & great video, lovely Mustang, but must agree that front mudguard is a joke 😂😂😂
Ol'Man recovering yet from his heart attack after seeing these two mudguards, Darcy 😂
What's about the Fantic Caballero 700?
Italian bike too, but Yamaha XSR engine!
😉👍
We review that recently. You may wish to scroll down our videos tab to see that one 👍🏼
It doesn't seem to really have the character you normally get from an air cooled V twin, and it looks a bit plasticy too. I think you'd be better off with a XSR 700 or Z650RS if you want a lightweight retro bike. With the savings you could get an aftermarket exhaust and some suspension upgrades and have a bike that's just as good for less money and save on maintenance.
A nice useable aspirational bike for someone new to motorcycling or for a second bike for hooning around on. Looks great.
I’ve been lucky enough to have two track days, one in a Shelby 67 GT500 and the second in a stage two Mustang. I can safely say that the stereos in each car would never be used or surpass the sound of the engine.
Bikes are more affordable thankfully.😬👍🏻
Love it. I was reading about this bike and then BOOM your video was dropped. I am new to Ducati and currently researching the costs of servicing the bike, as I have heard some horror rumors.
A general rule: if we have to research the servicing costs, Porsche/AUDI/Ducati are not the right brands for us 😂
@@kwakithailand I just like to know in advance what I commit to. that's all
Thank you for the review 👌
I would like to see a review with the "classic" Suzuki SV 650 or the X version. What do you say❓🙂
Very nice looking bick, with enough power..
Thanks for the review
I traded mine in for an XSR700, no regrets whatsoever
Apart from the fact that Ducati designers obviously forgot to sketch a mudguard on the front (or the back), I think it's a neat looking package. Especially like the upswept but low exhaust position. No roasted legs here?
looks good!
Lovely looking bike in that colour but that mudguard!!🙂
I like the Desert X much more. But great Video
Had the previous model (68 reg)
One of the biggest attractions is the very low weight.
And the low C of G
Had a desert sled 2022, it was a great machine. Traded it for a 1200 xe....
The engine is nice and I have seen more attractive versions of this bike over the years. As usual a demo ride would really be necessary to remove doubts to the comfort for smaller riders as well as performance.
the other day i pulled alongside one of these and literally it was very quiet and not much bigger than my hunter , so maybe due to my hunter 350 sound i could not hear this ones sound properly❤
Not a serious option for anyone who lives in a country that experiences weather!
Like them but the price is an issue for what you get then the added expense of removing and replacing that bread box they stuck the exhaust in. Plus, why even have a front fender
wew. for that much dosh you could get an xsr900 and even have a bit left over to mod it.
Hi. Can you compare it to the fantic 700 caballero?
Fantic feels heavier, but would be the better choice if you’re doing more off-roading. This bike would not be any good off-road due to lack of mudguards
@@MrDarcy-OlMan thanks a lot 🙏
The fantic looks bigger and with less ground clearence.
Nice-looking bike. I wanted one back when they first came out. Glad I didn't. I haven't heard of one owner who hasn't reported problems. Nick
Had no issues with mine.
Why do they even bother putting a front fender on it?
Regulations.
Id swap this bike plus i dont have a spare £11k! Great video as always mate 👍
Thanks Willie 😊
Think I would rather have the triumph scrambler 400 at half the price, it does sound a lot better than the triumph though.
They don't justify the price in my eyes far better and cheaper bikes on the market than this.
Like what? I’m curious like in the scrambler segment ^^
like the Triumph scrambler 900
not to mention that if you live in warmer places like myself, the air cooled engine from the Ducati won’t do you good
@@andreighita9803 I’m aware of that, reason I wouldn’t get one. Also Ducati maintenance tax
@@andreighita9803 I've been riding air-cooled Ducatis in the Texas heat for 24 years and never had a problem. One is a modified 2007 Hypermotard 1100S that dynos at 95 HP. It will run hard all day long with zero problems.
I still miss the Monster
Probably the only Ducati most of us can actually afford but still too expensive for what it is. Looks nice, but I think I'd rather go for a fantic caballero if I wanted an Italian scrambler or even a cfmoto 700clx if I want to save a lot of money and have a similar powered bike.
I have the Nightshift and I love it. One of the best looking bikes in person. Sport mode is pretty fun, surprisingly fast. It’s a fun bike.
I live in Scotland, this bike has no mudguards........
Is the suspension harsh like the 2016 ?
We have not ridden a 2016 one so cannot compare. Maybe someone reading this may be able to answer 👍🏼
Perfect Machine for your dad in Spain
Engines shouldn't be mudguards 😂
Wallet staying in my pocket for this duckling
freddy dobbs did a similar very gud review and fact is that ducati cannot make bikes with good butt comfort for sure, that is the only point that both of you highligted as a negative❤
I think they're great looking bikes. They don't seem to hold their value. You can pick them up very reasonable second hand with very few miles on
I must suck being a really tall biker as the only bikes you have are big cruisers and adventure or super tourers. Most bikes will look stupid with them on, I saw myself on a Triumph Bobber and I'm only 5"11 and thought "na"... I just looked way too big for it, but on the Bonnie I looked fine.
I think the older generation scrambler looks better,
Beautiful bike… surely it’s ‘Scrambler’ title is a lifestyle reference and not it’s purpose in life?
You think that £11k for a bike like that represents good vfm? Amazing. I've followed your channel because you champion bikes that don't cost the Earth and represent real value. The Scrambler is priced right at the top end of what consumers (suckers) will tolerate. The only vfm it represents is when compared to the utterly stupid R12 9T, BMW. It's not biking, it's emptying old men's wallets
Telling us "I'm underappreciated by my boss" without writing it out 😂
So anyone buying a BMW r18 or a Harley-Davidson Softail Standard is a Sucker or a champion for value? Am confused. 🫤
@@aunoates6617I don't know those bikes. Are they insanely expensive?
The Desert Sled version is taller and would likely be a better fit for you.
They stopped production after 2022. But true, I had one and I am 1,98. It suited me perfectly
you have ridden an L Twin before. The moto guzzi V7 has a 90 degree V Twin.
I'm not positive but for a bike to be considered L Twin the Cylinders have to be inline with the frame not transverse and the front cylinder has to be almost parallel to the ground lol Not sure who defines what an L Twin is but that is what my research shows Just saying. I prefer Moto Guzzi over Ducati anyway. Does anyone know who Defines what an L Twin is, Who would do that, is there an Italiano Engine governing body or something 😆
@@karlsquire8148 lol, V is 45 degree & L is 90 degree. great review.
Is the Ol' man OK? Did not see him for a while, best wishes.... hope to see him soon..
Check out this video explaining why th-cam.com/video/FxSadkZXjTw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HRSJi8ejf9dfkwlg he’ll be back very soon!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Thanks, hope to see you together soon, best of luck with everything
The Italian manufacturers have a reputation for making stylish motorcycles, so how is it possible that noone at Ducati is able to see, how utterly ridiculous that tiny orange thing above the front wheel looks?
This would look much better with two 17 inch wheels
Can’t imagine why somebody would buy one of these.
Triumph Scrambler all day over this. However that’s just my opinion.
I tried both and if you like to plod and get your back trashed by bumps and potholes (there are too many where I live) get the Triumph, if you like to flick around some corners with a smile on your face then go for the Ducati, I went for the latter however the Icon and it was reduced by 800 euros so not so bad. I changed the bars and got some lower footrests, now it feels pretty spacious for a 175cm tall chap. Enjoy whatever you ride!
Looks like a lot of bikes are made for smaller guys these days.
Texas like Ducati Scramble 20 unit ilegal in Port Africa
we miss the old man
He’ll be back very soon, big things coming
He will be back soon. He was in the BMW RnineT video and also on the Dad 'N' Darcy podcast channel 👍🏼👍🏼
expectations of a sore bum within minutes, yes.
Would not touch it with a barge pole.
Hii
australia like new 1000 Pcs send in market sydney
City posh for length-challenged riders. Moped 2.0
?
It definitely looks small with a 6.1 rider (Mr. Darcy) on top.
@@superleggenda Yes that was my thought as well being over 6.3...
Yep , exactly like a moped - not!
@@jakelowe8583 That's why it's moped 2.0 😉 It's small, not for off roading, not for highway, very nimble for city, flashy plastic fantastic. All the characteristics of a moped, but then way too expensive (hence 2.0). Opinions only hurt if one agrees 😘
Can it ever justify it's price tag when it burns your 🏀🏀 and the seat comes from a Chinese knock off m/c? Not in my book
The Ducati scrams are just mediocre
Compared to what?
I am not a fan of Ducati scramblers. I think they’re just fashion bikes.
Have you ridden one?
@@jakelowe8583 owed one. Sold it within 3 months. Bought the triumph 900 scrambler. Way better. No hate on duc, I owe a monster sp too, but duc scramblers doesn’t fondle my tits. Strictly personal opinion.
I had a desert sled for 2 years. Traded it for a 1200 xe
@@brandonjoseph3422 nice to hear an honest comment I want to go long distance touring and really fancy a Monster M400 - but I'm not sure that's sensible!
They ARE!!!!
