There is footage of Dimash, his father and a friend playing dombra together. They only have two dombra between them and they are reaching across each other, one playing the left hand and another playing the right hand and switching dombras. It’s fun. But definitely watch River of Love, it is beautiful. He can also play piano, guitar, xylophone, drums and others.
Oh, how I would love to hear Dimash playing the xylophone (have only seen a tiny clip of him playing it during one of his concerts) because it's one of my very favorite instruments. It's so beautiful! It would be wonderful to see it used more.
A portion of the 2019 New York show featured Dimash & several dombra players appearing on a stage near the back of the arena floor. As they played, the portion of the stage Dimash sat on elevated. He certainly has more stomach for heights than I've ever had!

William, please react to Dimash playing his composition of "The Story Of One Sky" on the Piano. I think you'll find that this gives you a true idea of his amazing musicianship. Don't worry, he doesn't play the whole piece, just plays an excerpt. 😃🏴👍

I think Dimash is quite skilled on the dombra. I think he just means that he doesn't have a degree in dombra playing🤣 I wonder if the dombra is made to mimic the sound of galloping horses. That's what it reminds me of.
The dombra is the national instrument of Kazakhstan. My understanding is that ALL children in Kazakhstan learn to play the dombra in school, which I think is a brilliant idea. Learning to read music and being able to translate it into sound via an instrument is a phenomenal skill. Unfortunately, it's something that has been deemed unimportant in the US. If you want to see more of Dimash's instrumental prowess, please react to his rendition of "Daididau" from I am Singer 2017. It's a wonderful, wonderful piece.
His absolute powerful and unshakable presence on stage, compared by some to a god of music, sometimes to a prince or king, the energy he absorbs from the Universe, then how he anchors himself to the Earth, his connection with the Divinity, all at a place, it gives him the strength and confidence to "command the audience, to order the orchestra, to order the song", so that everything comes out the way he wants and how Dimash feels, that is unique. All these qualities are only at Dimash, absolutely. The goosebumps and hypnosis induced by Dimash are the characteristics of his concerts and appearance on stage, which are shaped by his endless beauty, sometimes translucent, sometimes sensual, sometimes angelic !!! Dimash is storm, thunder, lightning, sun, rain, smile, but also love and last but not least he is our hope and our daily light, he is our spiritual food when you put your head on the pillow and start dreaming like tomorrow it's a day… !!!!! Dimash has God's kiss on his heart!!!!
And just think he can play well other 5-6 instruments that is insanely awesome. His level of singing is something else level up in the vocalist world but overall his musicianship, his art, his passion and wide knowledge of voices and musics that are so extraordinary! Def the definition of world class vocalist that masters many aspects of singings and voices that many great vocalist can’t achieve .
Most people don't realise the ammount of training that goes into making an opera singer, which is his basic training. To be able to control his breath and to stay on stage singing live for hours is something we are not used to with a popular singer as they do not have this training . Dimash was offered a place in an opera company, but he turned it down as he wanted to sing to a broader audience, thank goodness !! Add his stage presence and his rapport with his audience and you have the star we see before us . He's soooo cute too !!!
Thank you! I love 'halfway between Heaven and Earth' :) That is where Dimash's vocals live! William, could you explain the small hollow in his neck at 2:55? A reactor has said that they had never seen that before and that was some sort of 'secret weapon' in Dimash's vocal arsenal! What is happening when he goes very high? :) As to the Dombra and the Kobyz, I am amazed at what comes from 2 stringed instruments! Dimash is very good and Dimash's Dad is expert at playing the Dombra. The Kobyz has it's strings far above the instrument and it is so very interesting to see how they are manipulated with the fingers to make amazing sound.
Sandra, thank you for your lovely words!! Do you mean that shaded area above his Adam's apple? It's quite noticeable in that freeze frame. But I couldn't guess what it is!! His neck is long, for sure.
Buenos días sr William gracias por éste análisis y ojalá en un tiempo no muy lejano pudiera hacer un análisis de la canción que canto Dimash en el concurso singer en China 2017 con la canción Show Must Go On
DIMASH IS the only artist, that I know of, that sounds like he's lip syncing- when he's obviously not. And my untrained ear can't discern the micro variable of pitch by listening w/o benefit of modern digital analytics. One reactor taped, displayed & reviewed a DIIMASH performance alongside PAVAROTTI and it showed the subtle differences between the phrasing and pitch placement. The reviewer also overlapped 2 recordings of DIMASH at 2 venues, same song, to display evidence they weren't the same performance. I saw what I wasn't able to auditorially distinguish. Luv yr channel btw.❤
Exactly! The vocals are so perfect you are thinking: "Is this lip synch!?" But it isn't. Ok, maybe some times but mostly not. He just has a fantastic sense of pitch and great control over his vocal range.
William, I am praying that you will be going to his concert in Malaysia so you can give us, your devoted followers, your feelings on seeing and hearing him live.

Always beautiful... maybe like the world seeng from the high.... This man is incredible! Regards to you...
Excelente explicación 👏🙏
Absolutely AMAZING!!
William if you haven't heard River of Love with Dimash on the dombra and Renat Gaissin on piano, please react to it!
Brian, I don't know it but I will search it now and save it.

He's a great piano player too. ❤❤❤❤
Great reaction William - Dimash, to me, is THE G.O.A.T - Period !!
William, I am praying that you will be going to his concert in Malaysia so you can give us, your devoted followers, your feelings on seeing and hearing him live.
I would love to.
