Dimash is literally tearing down the boundaries what is possible for a human voice, but it's his interpretation, creating his own style and what makes his fans so passionate is his humble, down to earth, gentle personality. An really exceptional artist.

It’s not that he can hit high notes, it’s that he can high notes that even some women struggle to hit, and he can maintain them for long periods. Also, his voice is so clear up there too, the tone/timbre of his voice is wonderful, but he also has a lot of power too. What I find remarkable, is his showmanship. For someone so young, he performs every song like a seasoned professional. He doesn’t just sing, he performs each song with emotional intelligence and passion.

    • @sulatlalaki
      @sulatlalaki 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I love how so many people equate high notes with being a better singer. Of course I'm being sarcastic here because I don't understand why people seem to think higher notes means better singing. Take Sammy Hagar versus David Lee roth. A lot of people seem to think that because Sammy Hagar's voice is more powerful and he could sing higher notes they somehow he was a better singer but if you think about it's not really true. Dave wrote much catchier melodies is a far better lyricist and his showmanship and the way he sang those melodies was more memorable than Sammy Hagar at least in most true Van Halen fans' opinions. Take Angelina Jordan. When she was young she could sing all the high notes like Whitney Houston but now that she's gotten older she has always had a naturally placed lower register but she could sing low notes that even men who sing Bass are comfortable with and basically no women out there can match. So register doesn't equate better singing. I would put Steve Perry in his prime in the mid late seventies over this dimash guy any day for being a superior singer not note hitter.

Well welcome to the world of DIMASH! You have just been Dimashified! Dimash [Dee-mahsh] Kudaibergen [Koo-die-bear-GHIN] is a classically trained (operatic) singer from Aktobe, Kazakhstan. This video is from the Chinese reality show, “I am a Singer.” He was the only foreign singer on the show and placed second (primarily due to political considerations in which no Chinese singer should lose on a state-run Broadcast show). SOS was his first performance on the show and it was seen by more than 600 million Chinese. It vaulted Dimash into a major Asian star and since 2017, he has focused his talents in Asia. Last December, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. His concert sold out in 10 minutes on LiveNation! You will be seeing a lot of him in the next two years as he has decided to concentrate on the US market. He has sung in 12 different languages and has a vocal range of six octaves, with his highest note being a D8 (off the piano keyboard)!
The most famous vocal coaches from Ken Tamplin to Tara Simon all agree on one thing, Dimash is a once in a century talent and is the best singer on the planet! If you are ready to begin your journey down the rabbit hole, note that Dimash calls his fans “Dears”! Your next reaction should be the song, “Adagio“. This one is in English and its link is here: th-cam.com/video/eaq24OhkBRE/w-d-xo.html

That performance made him popular in Russia and established the congenial collaboration with Igor Krutoi, who has since composed a number of pieces tailored to Dimash's voice.

I have been a dear for over 3 years...Dimash sings all sorts of different styles and his transitions are always flawless. My love for him is the way he "paints" the song with feeling and soul. Each note is sung with color ....he hooks you in on how well he can sing a story & each song blows you away! One of my favorites that he performed in Nov is with Aida Garifullina ( he also sang another classical song with Aida & Lara Fabian the same night) But this example will show that he can sing in his lower register with a trained opera singer- stay in his "lane" and hold his own classically also. Whether it is pop, classical etc- he gives 110%. A very humble young man- but knows his voice well & keeps his standards high. This link is from his TH-cam and you will find many of his videos - they are awesome. Watching his concerts is 2 1/2 to 3 hours of awesomeness! I'm so pleased to hear that you're reacting to Dimash's "Singer" performances in order, the next being "Opera 2." Originally written and sung by Russian, Vitas, he has banned Dimash from ever singing this song again. Dimash is also banned from singing Lionel Richie's song "Hello" again. It's just one of the down sides of being the best singer on the planet. Most Professional Opera Singers/Vocal Teachers etc decide to follow his progression over the last 3 years. One said, "Dimash is the only singer I've ever heard in my entire career that has Apsolutely Everything!" Every performance he gives is completely different but equally Mind-blowing. I've watched his performances over the last 3 years, and in my opinion he will go down in history as the greatest singer/artist/performer of all time. Above all his insane vocal abilities, Dimash is a Storyteller who can speak directly to your soul. 😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍

Copyright law (under which such things fall) varies a bit from country to country but there are some international agreements as well. In any case, it's too bad we have only heard DImash do Opera 2 in one other setting than SInger 2017 (th-cam.com/video/ynLppwgXteM/w-d-xo.html This is from the Hunan TV Worldwide Celebration of Chinese New Year 2017 and was filmed right about the time Singer 2017 began production).
The reason probably has something to do with the nature of licensing/permissions but I'd hate to have such things limit him. Also, I don't know to what extent the writer of a song can actually keep others from performing it. That would be discriminatory and clearly illegal under equal-access statutes. There have been efforts in recent years, for instance, to keep certain politicians from using songs in campaigns, but because the songs were available under license, all that could be said was, "Hey! We don't like your politics so stop using our song." No legal weight behind such a thing, though.
And, given that Vitas he has released a new version of “Opera 2” in which he tries to outdo Dimash, who knows? In any case, the folks at Hunan TV, who are quick to slap TH-cam reactors with copyright violations, are themselves guilty of the same crime. You see, in the US (and this would apply to any songs under license to groups like ASCAP), it is the venue, not the performing artist, who must secure the right to using someone else's songs in a performance. So, when Dimash did Opera 2, Hunan was responsible for getting the rights. This happened again when Dimash participated in the medley of Queen hits on Singer last year. Hunan was notified by Sony (who holds the rights to Queen's music) that they were in violation of international protocols (though how much importance the Chinese attach to this is in doubt; they are notorious for disobeying property rights). You can read this article for more about that: www.sixthtone.com/news/1003809/hunan-tv-show-accused-of-illegally-airing-queen-songs
I don't know why, unless it's part of an agreed-upon punishment from ASCAP and its Russian counterpart RAO, Dimash no longer sings Opera 2. The license holders might have veto power of some sort. Vitas should be happy his name gets mentioned more often because of Dimash's performance.

OMG.. Did Lionel richie also ban him?
      That's extremely stupid

    • @davidcullen6797
      @davidcullen6797 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Soola7 The venue might have had just a one-use permission to do the song. In any case, Lionel likely had no say one way or the other; the rights to the song have been assigned to a music management firm and they handle everything. By law, they have to let someone sing it if the fee has been paid. It's the same thing with Vitas' songs from what I understand.

Welcome to the magic world of Dimash!!
I highly recommend "Sinful Passion" and "Ogni Pietra". Both these songs show different sides of Dimash's technical skills and potential, you will still find new things he can deliver. For "Sinful Passion" the go-to version is the Sochi performance of 2018 (the one with the most views, you'll easily find it). For "Ogni Pietra", I would go with his performance of his solo concert in Astana in 2019. I think it's the best arranged and most engaging of them all!!

@@SingerDadReacts I just read on another comment that you don't want to jump ahead in time and miss out his earlier performances. This is fine of course, however I do think that it's better to get first aquainted with Dimash's key performances, which define his overall artistic statement. The "danger" that comes with taking all his performances chronologically is that you will have to grind for quite a few songs before reaching some of his really pivotal and career defining moments. To me, "SOS", "Sinful Passion" and "Ogni Pietra" are the holy grail of what Dimash represents as an artist and performer and are (in my opinion) the best 3 songs to set the frame of this extraordinary case of a vocalist.
Although Dimash has been singing since the age of 5, most of his must-see performances are between a span of less than 3 years, so even if you don't keep things strictly chronologically, it's not like you will be missing out something. You can always go back and forth between performances and they won't feel out of order. This is just my opinion of course. I'm just an amateur musician who has been following Dimash closely for the past 15 months or so :)

Thanks for the great reaction. You are a natural at this. I would not have guessed that this was only your second reaction video. It was mentioned on the "I am a Singer" show that even though he was the youngest contestant (22), he was the most experienced singer. He has been Classically trained since he was 5 years old. In fact, he was offered a position in the Astana Opera Company in Kazakhstan, but made the fateful decision to "branch out" into other genres of music. He also has extensive training in Contemporary music as well. Also many Music Degrees. He just received his Masters in Composition. He has been accepted for his Doctorate. So he approaches music from all sides, and it shows in his performances. I have seen dozens of his performances and I have never seen him falter. The only aspect of singing he hasn't perfected is his pronunciation of some of the languages that are not his own. But he is working hard on that too. In his Slavic Bazaar performance of this song, he corrected the pronunciation of many of the French lyrics. So you will continue to be amazed at the talents of Dimash. Thanks again for your efforts.

You have just experience the introduction to the world stage of the most amazing voice of our time, and perhaps of all time. Training started when he was 5 yrs old. He is classically trained, along with pop, and even scatology. At the time of this contest, this young man had a 6 octave range. Now it is at a 7 octave range. But what is even more impressive, is the emotional range of this sweet child (and since I am a grandma, he is a child to me). He has a natural instinct that leads him to interpret lyrics in such a way that wrenches emotions from the toughest of us. I would recommend Sinful Passion, Ogni Pietra, Passione, Know, and Across Endless Dimensions. But Warning!! Strap yourself to your chair. Once you have experienced these performances, you will never be the same. As far as Tim Faust is concerned ----- The most amazing bass singer of all time IMO because he can bring that amazing Dragon Growl into his highest tenor notes and send women away with wet panties.

Hey there 😊 Dimash already went (slightly) lower than F2 as a teenager 😊 But yeah, back then when he did that performance, his lowest note was E2, but his lower range expanded a lot within the last years, this year he even did a performancw in which he did 6 octaves in one song 😄 he's crazy 😊)
His exact range (appr. 6 1/2 octaves without growling and appr. 7 with) is:
C#1 (lowest growl) - A1 (lowest "normal" singing note) - C6 (highest mix note) - F#6 (highest head voice) - D8 (highest whistle)
Thanks so much for your reaction 😊

Welcome to Dimash World. This guy is beyond everything we listen until you know him. Both reacts are from 2017. Both reactions are from 2017. He released a song a few days ago, in Chinese, which is beautiful in all aspects, the musical arrangement, the interpretation, everything incredible. Walking the path of Dimash at this point is a little difficult, because the temptation to listen to the new releases is enormous, and each one that is released is better than the previous one, if that is possible with Dimash. The name of the song is "Thousands of miles of a common dream". Cheers from Portugal.

Josh, Since you mentioned his smooth transitions, I urge you, PLEASE to react to "Ogni Pietra". I can hardly wait to see your reaction to that---a composition which was written specifically to provide music for his extraordinary voice. His mother is a celebrated opera singer, and his father composes and produces for opera. Dimash started in music academy at age 5, and he has always loved the work. He trains EVERY day since age 5, for at least 3 hours. In preparing for "Ogni Pietra"' he extended his range from just under 6 octaves, to just over it. He also increased his rich, solid strength in the lower registers, at that time. He also has a true mastery of the other aspects of performance--the physical prowess, the passion. To see him demonstrate how well he does this, please do watch "Adagio." Another very moving performance is "Sinful Passion." He said that the stage is the place where he feels most totally at home. When he was a tiny tyke (2 or 3) he used to be waiting for his mother, watching her operatic performances, and when it came time for her to take her bows he would run up on the stage and take his bows with her. Of course, the audience adored that! Off the stage, he remains a rather shy, humble, very sweet-natured guy. Then he gets on the stage and he seems to have no limits!
Oh, my goodness, I do look forward to your next reactions!

This lockdown has given me one huge gift: Dimash.
I have spent hours and hours, first just listening to him, now I love watching reaction video's. From most I learn something new or I share in the experiencing of a wondrous voice. I am more and more drawn to the passion and emotion he gives across in his songs and the vocal range has become secondary. I am speechless about his vocal technique though. He has tremendous mastery of his voice and knows it very well.

Enjoyed your reaction. Any one you choose of his will be impressive because he always manages to do something unexpected. Sinful Passion is a must. I know others mentioned "Screaming - Idol Hits" which is the live version, but Screaming his first music video is a must see also. He did all the vocals and instruments. It's like he was cloned and accompanied himself. His duet with Yugang Li "Drunken Contessa and Diva Dance"is amazing. Yugang is a traditional Chinese opera singer where men played the women roles and the two voices together are impressive. My current favorite is Samultau (Tokyo festival) that is live in his studio due to COVID. His voice is so powerful. I'll be watching you discover more! Thanks!

Greetings to the owner and guests of this channel…! And to all the personnel’s who worked with artists, and all others who did the translation, produced videos and uploaded it on line. My heartfelt gratitude to the reactors worldwide and commentators of this channel for your great help and service, so that artists can improve and or develop their talents and gifts at their best in order to serve better the listening public.
I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition.
The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his career the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his viewers worldwide especially the young will learn something from his optimistic views in pursuing his professional fields to the optimum level, his confidence, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and to his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the content of its music.
The power and beauty of his voice is so incredible even at his lowest and highest notes. Also the fact that, he is able to sing his music at maximum or more than 6 octaves with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said oooh… is Dimash human..? Alien..?
I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and probably surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. But I believed and I’m convinced that Dimash 20 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted by God with grace for music but his years of hard work of practice and experiences proves it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible.
My other concerns whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..?
Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it.
With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me.
My great apology to the readers for this lengthy piece. If you think this is all helpful you can share it to the general public as you please, I do really appreciate it. Or maybe you might have a different reflection experience of this music than mine; you can always revisit this music or other music of Dimash on line. Your personal critique to this comments and reflection is very much welcome and appreciated too.
SONG OF DIMASH IN FRENCH “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death)
STORY BEHIND THE SONG: The song is from French Rock Opera called Starmania, and was originally sung by Daniel Balavoine who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. That is why this song is sad, mention in some of the lyrics…A soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress. .
Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith.
For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discern well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity or a means of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with great humility and discernment.
Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any kind of pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God.
Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth” Saint Paul reminded us that “our present sufferings are nothing to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later.
Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it in reality and personally, you will never be the same person. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters human lives, our nature has been wounded, and experience suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but it is part of the reality of our human lives now.
Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless.
If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Death is such a peaceful event in our life, if we die in the state of grace, meaning if we died reconciled with God and at peace with others.
Death is the end of our earthly life. Our lives are measured by time, as with all other living beings on earth. Since it is unknown to all of us, the time of our death, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times, otherwise we are being caught by surprise of not being ready when God comes to take us to be with Him forever in our eternal home in bliss.

Правильно, Димаш и Диана - это север и юг, огонь и лед, это две стороны одной вещи. Эти две противоположности притягиваются друг к другу талантом, артистичностью и неповторимостью. Я их слушаю попеременно.

I like your "clean" reaction a lot. Though I have heard a lot of it, I still look for new reactors. But I found some of them arrogant. I've been listening to Dimash since 2015, Slavic bazaar. Anyway, please promote Dimash's channel also. The Dears are hoping to see it reach to 1M subscribers. Thanks.

When we know that this song is from the musical Starmania, musical collaborative project Québec-France, and that is singing in the part wher the hero is on the ground dying and hallucinating, seing himself as a bird flying high in the sky, we appreciate the high and the low tone aswell as the acting gestures of Dimash.
At the end of the lyrics, we sing to the hero's last breath: Dodo, l'enfant do, meaning Sleep, my child, sleep!

This song just touches on what he can do, this was three and a half years ago, you should hear him now. Dimash has gone to the A in the first octave to the D in the 8th octave, so right off the piano. Dimash himself says its not the range you have but what you do with it. He is highly intelligent and a deep thinker, he is also going his own way with his career. He is creating a new style of music, he calls it neo classical. Although in China he has become more of a pop star, in Russia z more operatic star and for the rest of us, he is an eclectic mix of it all, pop, rock, folk, opera, hip hop, rap you name it he mixes it up. So incredible. He has grown so much in the last few years and his talent is awesome 💖
