CSI ETABS - 03 - Wind Loads, Exposure from Extents of Diaphragms & Exposure Shell Objects | Part 4

- In this lecture ,Wind Loads are discussed with two methods (i) Exposure from Extents of Diaphragms and (ii) Exposure from Shell Objects
Detailed: Exposure and Pressure Coefficients options. Choose an option to define these coefficients:
(i) Exposure from Extents of Rigid Diaphragms option: If this option is selected, provide values for the Wind Direction Angle, Windward Coeff. and Leeward Coeff. This option allows the same wind load to be applied each time the load case is assigned.
(ii) Exposure from Shell Objects options. If this option is selected, the Wind Exposure Parameters area becomes inactive. In that case, use the Assign menu --) Shell Loads --) Wind Pressure Coefficients command to specify the windward and leeward coefficients when the wind load is assigned to a shell object. This option allows wind load coefficients and wind direction to be applied on an object-by-object basis.
(iii)Exposure from Frame and Shell Objects options (This option only Present in Old Version): If ASCE 7-02 is selected as the Auto Lateral Load on the Define Load Patterns form, this area is added to the Wind Load Pattern - {Code} form. When this option is selected, choose to apply loads to Shell Objects, or Frame Objects (Open Structure), or both. This allows specification of wind loading on open structures [i.e., choose the Include Frame Objects (Open Structure) option only]. With an option(s) selected, specify the parameters in the Wind Coefficients area on the form.

Sir, plz upload a video on "effect of wind on different shapes of building and comparison of results"
What is the value between parentheses? th-cam.com/video/0Fztbr8ZdUM/w-d-xo.html
thanks a lot , new idea for me
How to model CFDST (concrete filled double skinned tube) and analyse it in ETABS
I have modelled but it isn't recognised as a composite column in ETABS and hence can't be analysed as composite column. What to do?
Thanks a lot sir, You are Doing Amazing work. Sir Can you provide me the UBC 97 Code Book From which you consult during lecture
Welcome.

thankyou bro it was very nicely expalined. i have a question regarding the wind load in exposure from shell objects section, 09:23 selection of the clad is on floor. what do we have to do in case of gable roof and normal roof with terrace and also for normal flat roof. do select the roof for flat and terrace section to apply the wind load. for gable i am sure we have to select but still i would like to know your opinion.
For flat roof.... residential and plazas .... no need to apply the wind loads to roofs....... But if you have factory area roof... with wide open area.... you must need to apply wind loads to roof.
Nice Explanation, Thank You brother and upload more informative video for us
Thank you very much ..Brother for your Feedback... I will try my best to keep it up...
Thanks for the nice video.
Would you mind explaining or showing if semi-rigid diaphragm is adopted? Why apply wind load has to do with rigid diaphragm only? As far as I know, if the floor is assigned as rigid diaphragm, you will not be able to extract forces for the design of in-plane shear and collectors.
Very thankful to you for such a nice video series on Etab. YOu are doing great job.
when we design, do you think we need to create wind load in +X,-X,+Y,-Y directions?
Yes...
For in X direction.
For windward +X
And for Leeward - X
@@civilmdcthank you!
Thanks Sir Very helpul Lecture
How to delete slab from base?
Select the Slab panels at base and delete..
Very informative video sir , thank you sir
Thanks a lot
You are welcome
You freaking person. who will explain the windward and leeward coefficients at time 8.19 in your video??
You are watching part 4...

@@civilmdc don't just explain the procedure. Somebody said you to use 1 in the space don't tell us the same thing. If you really wanna teach try answering "why 1 in that space".
@@civilmdc sir, I have one doubt, will there be any problem if we apply beams and walls in the building and then analyse the G+10,G+20 buildings ?
@@shivamsharma-bj3dh
No issue....
Just make the building G+10
Then optimize sections after analysis and design
@@civilmdc ok sir thank you
sir, i wanna ask something how to fix if Rasio capacity in column is N/A ?, thank you
N/A means Not applicable.
You may have assigned... Beam element as column element
What about torsion in shell case?
