I can kinda see why this short never aired on television I think seeing the main autobot cast all killed and blackarachnia chained up as starscreams servant like something you’d see out of a 50 shades of grey book would definitely not fly by with parents and the complaints would go through the roof
To be completely honest, I don't think that's the main reason why this short didn't air, at least in my personal opinion. I mean, it's just blackarachnia chained up and the autobots don't have any gory on them. Maybe it's just that the creators aren't interested in releasing every shorts.
Definitely not that’s that’s a more modern way of viewing it. The early 2000s was waaay more lenient then today. For example in Billy and Mandy, Eris who’s character design alone would no way fly in today’s world had a pretty obvious joke of her getting “ridden” by Billy after she agreed to do anything he wanted for her golden apple or whatever. I mean they even had a close up of her face when he was pulling her hair.💀For back then, this is extremely tame.
I think my favorite part is that Starscream puts so much emphasis on the throne in his fantasy, but Megatron literally could not care less about that compared to him nodding off. It helps set their priorities in a fun way. My second favorite part is Megatron referring to it as a Staff Meeting rather than like, a debriefing.
I can’t believe Starscream fell asleep during Lugnut’s point about how the break room coffee maker needs to be descaled once a month and that he’s tired of being the only one doing it, I mean come on guys I know you can taste it and yet you still let it keep going!
So of all things in this short, from Megatron groveling to Starscream and Black Arachnia being chained up in a seductive manor, it's Megatron saying the phrase "Staff Meeting" seriously and staightfaced that causes me to laugh the most. Of all the phrases I expected Megatron to use to describe meeting with his underlings, Staff Meeting would be the last one
Also, something weird I noted here over time as well. Most transformers except Optimus find Blackarachnia's organic nature to be disgusting, and even the nicest ones think she's quite weird...but Starscream, well, apparently doesn't mind that it seems. So, kudos for not being a bigot I guess?

It feels a little weird seeing Black Arachnia in the Decepticon base since she pretty much acts independently of the Decepticons throughout the series. If I recall correctly the only time she acted with the other cons was in the first episode.
This was my personal wish as a kid for Starscream to win! It would've been absolute delightful to see him victorious. I didn't have any ideas about slaves as a kid but sure, Blackarachnia chained up for him could've been cool too. To have his clones by his side would've been fun as well, even though they gave up on him
I also think this version of Starscream has the best Starscream design, hands down. Even Tom Kenny (The voice actor for Spongebob, of course) did a very excellent job of voicing as Starscream in this series. Props to him for making a great character in Transformers Animated, one of the best shows in my childhood.

I love the 2000s and the 6 decades before, but 2010s had to come in and ruin good everything, but main reason why this wouldn't fly today is because animated Blackarachnia has a black woman aesthetic to her, well her voice actress is Cree Summers(which she is amazing with her performances in shows) and you can do the rest of the imagining why it be such an issue. But same reason why we won't see Beast Wars version of Blackarachnia being based on an asian stripper as confirmed by one of the creators of beast wars at the time(just look at the way she sways after Terrorizes/transforms), so Airachnid was created to be the archetypical lone badette(and maleficent was also her basis) as a stand in for Blackarachnia(different characters and have met in the comics).

But same reason why we won't see Beast Wars version of Blackarachnia being based on an asian stripper as confirmed by one of the creators of beast wars at the time(just look at the way she sways after Terrorizes/transforms), so Airachnid was created to be the archetypical lone badette(and maleficent was also her basis) as a stand in for Blackarachnia(different characters and have met in the comics).

The sad thing about the Decepticon shorts is that we only get the official Decepticon group during the season 1 episode 1 after that it's just Megatron with Blitzwing and Lugnut, Starscream and Blackarachnia being roagues.
