    I just read an article on the Wallstreet Journal about your early life, family "challenges" and the circuitous route you took to hoof trimming. I was wondering how profitable the business was so came across a brief synopsis or your journey. Wow, over 600 people signed up for your first hoof trimming seminar from all parts of the world. It's amazing how your first videos intended for farmers have skyrocketed into massive interest around the world. Can't wait for your book to come out. I hope it goes into more detail about the family dynamics, tragedies and triumphs that guided you into trimming. Fascinating. Well done!

Why waste breath on someone you don't like? 😅

    Seeing you two at 7:15 brought a happy tear to my eyes.
    About 9 years ago my brother was in a car accident and became vegetative, and a few years ago he died. In that time I've bought land and livestock, and I know I would've had him next to me learning a thing or two if he could be there. I'm glad you had that opportunity with your brother.

      Thanks everyone. My brother was someone who would never stop moving, learning, and would have lived in a tree in the forest if he could convince his wife and kids it was the right choice.
      As sad as it was, his death was a relief, because it meant he was no longer stuck in the prison of his own body, and his energy could move on.
      His ashes have been spread far and wide. They have been buried near his home, they nourish a tree in my yard, they travel in the mountain rivers he canoed, the winds blow them across the plains.
      I am at peace and moving forward, and so is he.

      It's a thing that often happens here where I live, a lot of people doing work for people (myself and other people I know included), we slip more into the accent of who we're talking to. It builds more of a rapport with the customer. I'm guessing that's what he's doing, not even intentionally, he's born and bred in that area so the accent is part of what he knows. It just comes out stronger when talking to someone who also has the accent coming out thickly

    • @arich9326
      @arich9326 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      That's typical for most people with accents. When my Jamaican grandmother talks to her sisters it's like they're back home but when she pays bills you'd think SHE was the customer service rep.

    • @ancuruadh6027
      @ancuruadh6027 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Unfortunately because of the English there's still a perception that our accent and language are "lower class" somehow, so we get into the habit of turning it down when we're talking to strangers, or in public, and only really using it in private, or with friends and family. Happens with other languages being squeezed by English too, notice the post in this thread about Jamaican accents.

    I keep seeing people on other hoof channels say they prefer the purely technical, short videos. I can't imagine why. I enjoy those as well, but these videos are just as enjoyable with music and seeing you guys driving through the countryside, seeing up the crush, and even the music parts over you just working away. Keep up the good work, I've even added the songs you use to my TH-cam driving playlist.

    • @metaforcesaber
      @metaforcesaber 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Oh God, those people are so dramatic about it too. Like, the whole point of TH-cam is you can customize your recommendations. So either hit the thumbs up, the thumbs down or even don't recommend channel. But those people act like playing a little bit of music during the hoof trim is like some egregious sin. They act like everything has to be a competition.

      People can make whatever content the platform allows.
      People can watch whatever they want.
      People are allowed their opinion and to voice it.
      My Gran used to say if you haven't got anything nice to say about someone don't. So ill refrain from commenting about them.
      Funny how some people are so happy, you can tell this man, his crew and his girls are they don't feel the need to put other people down. "I like both kinds of music, country and western." It's a bleeding you tube channel. Keep up the good work lads from Australia. 13 hot? Now with that I'd have something to say. Come here I'll buy you a beer when it's 40, at 45 yeah, time for the pub, well even at 13 it would be come to think of it but those girls won't give themselves a pedicure that would be udderly ridiculous.

    Enjoyed this video very much. Your brother seemed interested and his mannerisms and facial expressions make it obvious he is your brother.
    Always enjoy the cows. I milked cows for a few years for neighbours and loved the work. You get to know their personalities well and who is their best friend, waiting for them so they can walk back to the pasture together. Probably a bit weird but I take a deep breathe when the cattle truck go past home as l like the smell of them.

    So wonderful to see your brother with you! I understand about childhood memories being on a farm. I grew up in a large farming area, with many family members farmers, including my own being cattle farmers. I recently moved away from decades in the city to east Texas…small towns, LOTS of countryside. Every time my wife and I take a drive, a smile stays on my face, and I’m completely at peace. It never leaves you.

    I watch both you and your brother's channel and love them both. The last time I saw my brother I got to spent the day helping him heard cows from one pasture to another, went 16 miles on horseback and had a blast. Getting to spend the day in his life will never be forgotten and is treasured as he was the last cowboy in our family of a long line of cattle ranchers.

    I’m a server and I am in Texas USA, and I served a guest last week from Scotland and when they asked for a flat white coffee I was so confused. I asked you mean dark or light roast and she smiled and said no dear it’s espresso with cream poured over top. I will add I’m not a coffee connoisseur only occasionally do I drink coffee so idk if this is a commonly used term for coffee made like that but I felt so silly not knowing lol….

    This was a great video. It seems like Robert filmed some segments and it was awesome to have a bit more zoomed out view to watch you and Craig work in tandem. Seeing the tools used and hung from a different vantage really showed another piece of the puzzle. Amazing synchronicity. It was also terrific seeing his commentary of being there and seeing it in person. You guys all make a great team as usual.

    My new husband and I visited Scotland for our honeymoon. It was in September and decidedly cool, but it felt like home to me. I live literally in a desert a mile high. The air is thin and hot in the summer. 16 degrees Celsius would be an unusual blessing.
    I already watch your Bro’s channel.

    One of the greatest privileges in my adult life is having the opportunity to reconnect with my sibling and learn about the amazing, incredible, talented person they are. I never knew as a child to cherish the time we had together, but I think one of the gifts we get in adulthood, if we're lucky, is having the chance to rediscover those moments and share new ones. Glad you had this chance with Robert. Family will always be special.
