It's late in the edition, but we can finally read the stars and see what the Seraphon have brought for us to work with in 3rd edition.

Seraphon leave so much room for paint color flexibility. Want something earth toned and gritty? Neat, it’ll look good. Want something psychotic and eye bleedingly bright? Neat, it’ll look good.
And I’ll still never be able to settle on mine. 😆

I'm doing a nice Pokemon theme for mine because I thought it would be hilarious, and each unit will have different schemes

I appreciate the do not buy advice as someone who is chronically eyeballing a new army.
Yeah, I hate to have to dissuade ppl but it’s a trap box.
Eh it’s still a decent box if get it for a good price. Got mine at $85, sold the knights for $16. Got a Carnosaur for $69 (almost 25% discounted) along with a skink wizard and a unit of warriors for free. Plus going to be long time probably until Carnosaur/Trog is discounted again. Even if you want all new models doing little extra side work selling can get the carnosaur down to probably $45-50 selling the skink/saurus rider sprue and old warriors too.
@@liveanotheranime3526 Yeah the ez to grab Carnosaur is nice but those sweet new Saurus Warriors are too cool to pass imo
yeah i noticed when the seraphon leaks started someone else got the saurus start collecting box i was eying (boy did that one work out for me), but on a side note: the new warcry box storm cast and i think vampires? has an alternate vesion of the relmshaper engine and gw says it can be used in aos so if you as lucky as i am and have 2 friends who are splitting the box and have 0 interest in the terrain you can potentially snag a cheap relmshaper (also probably explains why they haven't restocked them in so damn long )

Also painting seraphon is an absolute joy.
I've got dark green warriors with muddy brown camouflaged striped.
Knights with black scales and red under bellies.
And a standard bearer with half gold scales & half dark silver (enchanted steel from army painter)
They all look right and having the different colours makes them less monotonous to work on.
My stormcasts felt like a chore after the 10th golden unit.
Sounds like a fantastic scheme and yeah - from someone who has painted both, I can tell ya I’ve been enjoying the Seraphon more!
Haha just as I commented on struggling to start seraphon now that the start collecting seraphon box is no more on your orruk warclans video, this comes out! Keep up the good work!

You 100% can use knights as an Aggradons. I don't understand why it can be a problem for anyone. They are GW plastic. Dinosaur riding a dinosaur
If you can find the start collecting Seraphon box under 90$ Its worth it. (I found one for 75$ at local game shop). the Sauros knights are phased out, but that SAURUS OLDBLOOD ON CARNOSAUR is 90$ by itself if you order on games workshop.
Yeah it’s tough because the Old Start Collecting is either going for cheap or like scalper prices. Thankfully the new Vanguard ALSO has a Carnosaur so they aren’t as hard to grab. 🦖
I'd get the warcry box and add Kroxigors with a saurus old blood as my hero unit

Bastiladon Ark of Sotek (200 points) is also great way to get the army set box to 1k points. 2+ save, 12 wound model.
This is true! Just couldn’t find any easy to grab on Amazon or otherwise.

Was a couple weeks ago. Guess there was a rush and Seraphon buyouts recently. Just saw one seller trying to sell a single bastiladon for $120. Scammers galore. :(

i got a buy list 1c army box(775pts) + skinks (170pts+4 extra skinks)$35 + underworlds starblood stalkers(290pts) $30; kixi taka can be used as a starpriest(130pts), and klak-troq can be used as a saurus oldblood (135pts). 1210-1235pts for about 260 ( buy another box of skinks and then the 4x2 extra akinks from box 1 and 2 + the 2 skinks from starblood stalkers = a 5th skink unit)
I don’t like to use proxies, but if you had to, using the Underworlds box like that is a good idea. 👍🏽
@@swolehammer i wouldn't call them proxies kixi taka and klak trok where designed with the full intention of them being new alternate sculpts for their respective generic counterparts. they are tournament legal if used as their generic versions

Still had the Start Collecting box, two in fact from before a long break. Sucks that I cannot use the knights anymore but I still got the Saurus Warriors, the Oldbloods on foot and on Carnosaur and the Troglodoon plus a kitbashed Skink Starpriest so I still can use much of the box. I do love the Saurus and Kroxigors so I will be fielding a Coatl's Claw army. New Saurus got BEEFY
Carnosaurs are hyper cool, yeah! Also - I know right? I thought the new revealed Saurus Warriors were Kroxigors cuz they got so chunky!

For 2k list, sure.
You got me excited by including Kroxigors, but sadly, they are not available, jut like all the other new models outside the new army box. Heck, even the old Kroxigor are nowhere to be found.
The Kroxigors will be available in a month or so! Full Battletome release is early to mid Summer 👍🏽
my lgs is doing a slow grow league, 16 weeks, starting army 600 points (1 unit can't be >50% of pts) +200pts every 2 weeks you can restructure your army(like changing sub-factions etc [ex with seraphon bit hard to effectively play thunder lizards at 600pts ]) at 1000pts and again at 1400pts. this has gott 3 people to start AoS for the first time 1 guy back into AoS and 2 AoS players to start new armies (one of them was looking through my serphon book while i was painting the slann then that same day bought the last copy of the new box set the store had) it probably helps that 40k is in the 9th-10th transition period so not a lot of guys wanting to play 40k at the shop atm
P.S> owner got his demo coppy of Star Wars Shatterpoint and we did a game to learn the rules, pretty fun, it is like a hybrid of MCP and SW:Legions, similar vibe to warcry so if you like any of those and you are a fan of starwars definitly worth snagging a starter kit (comes with enogh modles to play a game all the tokens mesuring sticks and a customizeable terrain kit for like 100$
Gotcha, haven’t heard of Shatterpoint but our LGS’ around here play MCP and Legions. Sounds interesting enough!
That league idea sounds dope.
I love this army but it feels bad because in December I picked up the start collecting Seraphon, and an additional box of Seraphon knights

Not really, but there are tons of ways. If you want Saurus-heavy, the upcoming Saurus Leader on Aggradon with Aggradon riders are definitely an include.
Skink focused, Starpriests for magic, and Skink boxes to flood the board. Also monster as backup like Bastiladon / Stegadons.

why avoid the start collecting seraphon thou? arent the lancers on aggrodon just glown up saurus knights? same like chameleon skinks and hunters of huanchi? or do i miss something? if its for base size, just buy the correct base then? ;D
I mean, by that logic, sure you could proxy anything then. Lol.
@@swolehammer not quite sure if u dont get it , but both units are the same? saurus knight = old kit, aggrodon lancers = new fancy glow up version

It just feels bad to recommend a box to new players where they have to buy extra bases for certain models and potentially deal with other players telling them they have the incorrect models (which is technically true, albeit not in the spirit of how we play).
It’s not a bad idea, it’s just not ideal advice for new players at the end of the day.
@@rileybender3655 This i can respect thou, but even without use of the Knights the Box is great, u get 10 + 2 warriors and a Saurus Oldblood Skink Oracle on carnosaurus or Troglodon ^^ even without the knights its a good box ^^
