Willys Jeep Restoration Full Time Lapse - [No Music]

  • The full restoration time lapse of my Willys Jeep CJ3A converted to an MB. I made a version with music, but TH-cam will not display it so open up another tab and jam to your own tunes. This video shows every part being disassembled, painted, and going back together. The full video shows technical walk through's of major progress as well, while the short video does not.

I love it that after it was all done you still took it out in the woods! Not just put up in a museum. Very cool project and fantastic job.

Very Cool! My dad just passed away and had a CJ3A that he LOVED but sold when he had my brother and I. My friend had one that is in total original mint condition and he moved to Hawaii 3 years ago and isn't coming back. Sold to me. We are going to paint it up just like his fire jeep. You did an awesome job with your total restoration!!

Dang! That's an amazing, very ambitious restoration for such a young fellow to tackle! Good on you for seeing your vision and dream come true. You should be very proud of your accomplishment. Glad to see you're not afraid to get it dirty either, but remember that if you take care of it, it will take care of you. Happy trails bud!

This is a great project and congratulations on the finished product! This Jeep brings back some great memories. My uncle had a CJ3A that he bought from White Sands Missile Range. It had only been used as a security vehicle and was in decent shape. He used it to run around doing daily work on his ranch; checking waters, checking cattle, putting out salt, etc. He let me and my cousins use it to hunt muleys in the fall and hunt coyotes in the winter. It was great for climbing over some rugged mountain roads. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I'll look for more of your projects and take care

My young friend, this is how "larnin' " is done. You put your hands on things, you make your mistakes, you work through them, and you know better next time. Very few people your age can do what you did here, and the next one you do will go much faster. Then the one after that will be even faster, and better. You keep this up, and in a couple of years you'll be able to do them mistake free, fast, and perfect.
People will pay you a LOT of money for that skill.
Keep up the great work man. Your Dad, I know, must be very proud. He's got himself a good kid!
    TREMENDOUS work here!

Awesome video, I stopped work and watched the whole thing, its just the right mix of long enough to be detailed but not too long to be boring. I'm starting something v similar with my new(ly acquired) 48 CJ2a & will be referring to yours again. Like you, I want a military-style jeep but one I can work around the property without fear of damaging a hugely expensive or completely accurate antique. I'm twice your age but I've already learned a ton from your vid. Thanks for posting man!Doug California

I was wondering if you could do a detailed wiring series for the early jeeps?I know you mostly do CJ2 and 3s but I think the early CJ5s are very similar. Maybe a video showing you building a wiring harness for the wiring under the hood? Another for the wires under the dash... ie gages. And maybe one for the wiring for the lights? I know the wiring is simple and for you probably seems like no big deal. But for some of us it seems very confusing and intimidating. You're very good at explaining and it's obvious that you know your stuff. Just a content idea that I would find very useful. Thanks and great videos

hey man, very nice job. I was worried a few times when it came to paint, but you went back and fixed the mistakes on the prep work end of things. I got a cj3/2/mb(little bit of everything FrankenJeep) im restoring right now. Very interested in the Lebaron disc brake conversion. Wondering how well it worked, what you used too mount the caliper to the axle, if you machined the hubs to accept the rotor and what if anything you had to do with the master cylinder. Thanks!
