back when i did a blind playthrough, i originally thought dimentio's claim of making himself 256x stronger in the chapter 3 fight was true, so i then proceeded to not get hit a single time in the fight because i thought one hit would kill me instantly

It's a double-edged joke, actually. Both the spelled-out "it power boosts EVERYONE in the dimension", and the more subtle integer-wraparound joke.

In a story sense, which is where SPM shines most to me, hearing Ch6 bashed and Francis' Peach scene too was crestfalling. Those are great moments in this game which is full of quirky humor and immense stakes.
I’ve always liked 6-1. It’s tedious, but it was really cool with how urgent it was with the vortex ominously growing behind the fights.
I also love how each fighter has their own personality. Nintendo really didn’t need to add so much detail, especially given the last 80 aren’t gonna be fought by most players, yet they still did.
Things like O Chunk’s built-in grab counter and Bone Chill’s infamous Luigi cheese make me believe a difficulty hack of SPM would be pretty interesting. Something that’d add anti-cheese tactics like permanent icicles to Bone Chill’s ceiling or more HP for bosses (a vast majority of them have less HP than Muths, which I find kind of interesting?) I haven’t seen much modding with SPM though, I don’t know how much we’re capable of making with it yet
I thought the same! Would be awesome if like the veggie O'chunks had Dimentio alongside him, Brobot had x2,5 hp....
Yeah, that would be cool. Making O chunks ungrabable because of his size, giving bonechill a spike helmet, raising the health and attack damage of bosses and some enemies, and just generally removing cheese all throughout the game

There's actually a really cool detail I only noticed in a recent replaying of this game that makes Francis so much easier to beat. I used to think it was just part of the music, but if you listen you can actually hear Francis walking around the room and can get a good idea of where he'll show up. You can also go into 3D with Mario and see his shadow on the ground as well.
You can also use thudley and he'll appear for a couple of seconds if he nearby.
This channel really makes you appreciate the amount of secret interaction the Pixls have, like Fleep, I just never thought of using her on Bowser

Grinding is a little boring but actually really easy with a certain trick. In the first level when you get to the big star area run through everything but make sure a single coconut shooting guy is alive. Repeatedly trick off the coconuts without touching the ground and your score will skyrocket
bear in mind Carrie is required to get the proper jump duration for this to become infinite, so beating chapter 3 first is all but required
I never understood why people disliked this game. I thought it was awesome, and I was a kid at the time who was a hardcore fan of TTYD, so even though the gameplay was completely different I thought it was still an amazing game.
I think it’s because its more of a platformer than an RPG like the rest of the Paper Mario games
@@thezygardiantrio9434 but it was the third paper mario game and ttyd wasn't that long before super. And super tries to mix rpg elements and standard mario gameplay and I think it works. I think people blame super for us getting sticker star and color splash
My best explanation is that it has Paper in the title, which sets expectations. But the actual game surprisingly has none of the Paper elements, meaning it possibly could have received much better reception with a title like... Super 2D Mario, or something.

The 'Paper' in Paper Mario was never meant to be taken literally. Like SPM, PM64 also has no paper elements.

Bowser isn't required for thudley it just seems like that becuase Bowser is big and stuff like that and Bowser actually has the lowest Girth score.
Honestly, whenever I play this game, I just exclusively play as Bowser riding Carrie unless I need an ability from another character or Pixl.
I very much so enjoyed this video! I know it might take a lot of effort but this is very entertaining! The sticker Star one also grabbed my attention and was super good! Please keep it up!

The small Sammer Guys can be beaten with a well timed Cudge smack. They run right up to Bowser's knees and into range at the perfect time to get whacked.
You didn't need to get Piccolo for the underchomp part, all you need is one thunder rage to instakill all 3 of them in the very first turn. You were very dedicated by trying to get Piccolo for so long, and you didn't realise you only needed the thunder rage. But I respect the work you put into doing that because it's pain.
And you didn't realize this is also a no item run.

Best story of any Mario game. Period. The world is going to end because society can't handle an interracial couple. Mario needs to help, but he can't because he's saddled with crippling debt.
There's a mini Mario civil war with brother against brother. A Flower King goes insane because of pollution and decides to get even by brainwashing the dolts that poisoned him.
Mario goes to heck. Then God and Satan decide to put a deity in the form of a child....hmmm. That sounds familiar.
Mario takes a break and helps two old wizards swap some questionable media.
After overcoming all of that and finding their way back to each other, the interracial couple is rewarded with the sweet embrace of death.
Oh. And Bowser's bounce sound is super cute.

Dimentio is really easy if you have items but I realized you didn't allow yourself to use items.
Nah like, this is the third best of the series at minimum. There may only be 3 good Paper Mario games, but that says something
12:56 sole difference in that 3rd O'Chunks fight is he is a lot faster than in the 2nd fight if you don't corner him.
I really liked SPM, just as much as TTYD. It was polarizing, but I really liked the real-time combat / platforming.
Also, Bowser/Carrie was broken AF. The game was absolutely not balanced for Bowser's damage output, and making him more mobile and able to use his fire in the air was stupidly powerful.

I remember I was confused and a little annoyed that SPM was different than TTYD, but that very quickly changed and I remember adoring this game. I absolutely loved it. Sticker Star on the other hand, was a joke. I couldn’t even finish it. I hope Nintendo have learned the difference between “people complained because it was different” and “people complained because it sucked” at this point.
Nintendo has used up a lot of their good graces in recent years.

Actually I think 7-1 is the shortest also u can use Thodey on blooper in addition bombs and 3D are best tactic for scammer guys also just using a shooting star defeats the underchomp

Now I could tell you that you could have used slim and a gold bar to glitch your way into flopside early to get block-blocks to make into block meals as soon as slim is unlocked but that might have been a little TOO cheesy.

Edit 3 months later: i did Flipside Pit of 100 trials after chapter 4 (can do it pre chapter 4/post chapter 3 but i died so i took the extra points ans resources lmao), and did round 1 of the Flopside pit. Honestly doing those no hit sounds beyond insane, I'm bad at 2D mario combat so i always get random hits on me causing me to need to use a bunch of healing items in thr pit

Throughout the entire game I've always wondered. Why doesn't Bleck come down here and kill me himself? Why send your henchmen to do it when you are literally invulnerable unless I have all the pure hearts? Also if Natasha brainwashed Luigi to be a villain like Mr. L. Were the other henchmen brainwashed as well?
Bleck was following the Dark Prognosticus, which probably mentioned a climactic final battle between himself and the heroes. Maybe he thought he was guaranteed to win?
The other henchmen were not brainwashed. Mimi was an experiment gone wrong and she cursed the world for that. O'Chunks was betrayed by his men (he was a general) and Nastasia almost died and Bleck saved her (I think). Dimentio obviously wasn't either because he's his own boss.
I think they follow Bleck because they owe him.

I am doing a No Damage and Only Solo Attack run of Superstar Saga.
Although I really like this game, and probably consider it my personal favorite, I don't understand how people consider this better than something like Origami King gameplay wise
Origami King has my least favorite gameplay in the entire series. The battles are so repetitive, tiresome, and monotonous. There aren’t even that many attacks you can do which makes the battles feel even more boring. At least with Sticker Star’s gameplay (which people consider to be the worst gameplay) there’s a big variety of attacks that you could do and it doesn’t feel tiresome battling enemies, and I at least had somewhat of a reason to battle some of the enemies since I could get rid of some of the stickers that I have in order to make room for more (and maybe even better) stickers that I would find later on in the level AND get rid of those enemies at the same time and get some coins by doing so. Honestly Origami King’s gameplay and story are the main reasons why I don’t like that game and why it’s probably my least favorite Paper Mario game.
I mean, Origami King is pretty slow…
