- For my Presets visit: johnnathancordy.gumroad.com/ The Litigator has to be the Amp that I use the very most on the Helix.
Ben Adrian has talked about it being based in that kind of boutique Fender modded expensive amp world i.e. Dumble, Two Rock, RedPlate, Ceriatone etc.
Names associated with that Dumble thing would include Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, John Mayer, SRV, Mike Landau...
"We had talked about modeling a smooth-overdriving, easy to play, mid-gain, high dollar boutique amp for a long time. However, they can be expensive and hard to find. When you do find one, people get nervous that it will be partially disassembled and probed."
"The "Litigator" was born out of two scenarios; one, I came from the world of building pedals and doing a lot of tube amp repairs and mods, and two, I was not constrained by making a model that matched a real world amp."
"I asked myself, "what would I do if someone brought me an amp and wanted me to mod it into something smooth and boutique-y?" So I took a schematic for an amp that we had modeled and I drew out the mods on paper. Yes, it started from a Fender place like so many of the boutique amps."

The litigator is phenomenal. The folks at line 6 really nailed everything about it, from clean to mean.
Is It Better clean or distorti sound in hx!?😅
These preset creations with your detailed commentaries have taught me so much about how to edit & what choices to make for musical purposes, all backed up with a real musician's experience.
It's made my HX much more useable for me.
This and the Archon amp on the HX are my favorite clean sounds. Headroom and body for DAYS.

Although i agree the litigator is pretty good, your very nice playing really upsells it by alot
If it were emulation of a specific dumble, RF's #102, I would want to use it. #102 clean captures iconic jazz tones with an es335. RF must have still been debating between playing jazz or blues when he ordered #102 and described what he wanted Dumble to build.

HI! What brand is that LP style guitar you are playing? Looks nice!
It’s my go to for American sounds, it does a great Robben Ford, and I have found it can swing to Allen Hinds Redplate Blackline sounds also. Interestingly I find the built in cabs work best with these types of Amps. But if I’m after the Marshall sound then I’ll tend toward a good external IR.
I always run 2 cabs with this amp, the stock cab and a 2rock cab IR.
I ADORE the Litigator! I actually prefer it to the Cali Texas for chasing Andy Timmonsish tones; for some reason I always find the Cali Texas way too boomy.
Could you do the same for their Caralyst? I very much like the clean and crunch tones you demoed and am looking for best other classic amp voices, much more than delay/fuzz/reverb.
What's the better option for a singing tone: more gain or Nux Steel Singer in the effects loop between compressor and clean setting as shown here?

Is the Litigator on the Pod Go the same as the one for the Stomp and Helix?
Why do you never turn the hum down on the amp models? It's normally the first thing I do. I'd be interested if there's a reason for that.
Do you mean the noise gate or hum on the amp?

It's actually the ripple on the litigator that creates the hum if you're looking to avoid that!
I’m curious to see if he replaces his Helix with the FM9 now that he’s had a taste.

Are you asking can the Litigator do two rock tones?
@@johnnathancordy can the litigator give a clean tone like two rock coral? Litigator sounds like a overdrive channel, playing with 0 gain and single coils, I think that solution is drop down the guitar volume. I'm using sl2h with split coil, but can't with litigator. (Hope U understand).
