@MindGames 122 How were Jeremiah & Jerome BOTH bad? Because DC prevented them from using the actual "Joker" name? I'm not sure what you mean here, but Jerome was, in my opinion, many, if not all of the most fun, yet still quite intimidating as well. He's the closest example of Mark Hamill's Joker in a live action role, while still maintaining his own original portrayal. The "twin plot twist" I think was less about making the show more interesting & more about, this gives us an opportunity to work with the same actor that played Jerome, yet give him a totally opposite; cold, calculated version of the Joker with Jeremiah (which I think was pretty much all Cameron Monaghan as far as the portrayal, attitude, demeanor, voice etc., very original adaptation of the Joker). As for the final Joker transformation in the finale, that was just Gotham's version of their official "Joker" with a bit of a nod to the The Dark Knight Returns part 2 where the Joker starts out in a pretend brain dead-like state, that the return of Bruce Wayne/Batman draws him out of. Also, it was a chance to show the Joker as we know him to look, (with the exception of making him more hideous than ever...not a bad thing!!) for the most part. The much whiter face, larger, redder smile, damaged skin & hair, the abandonment of his former name. Plus another voice change; adding a softer, older sounding voice with Mark Hamill's signature hint of an English accent being used.
I don't get how you think both of them were bad. Cameron Monaghan's Jerome is now 2nd behind Heath Ledger's live action Joker (some ppl might even say Cameron was a bit better in some ways). Add in voice acting & Mark Hamill (even Troy Baker) & that's many people's new top 3 Jokers of all time. Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger, & Cameron Monaghan, in no particular order. Some ppl may think Jack Nicholson might be a top 3 but I personally don't think so.
The reward of watching a show from start to finish
I know right? I am DC FAN and BATMAN fanatic. I started watching the show for all the beautiful Gotham characters and their stories. I know they were not perfect all the time but its always nice to see different rendition of our beloved characters. Cameron has proved himself amazingly. I mean playing 3 different renditions of joker is insane.

Not really. In the comics when Batman actually injured him badly with a batarang joker started flipping out asking what the hell was wrong with him and saying that's not how things go. He should be shocked and surprised and angry about it.
Joker has many variations. You're both correct, these are 2 types of Joker.
@@trod146 I suppose it depends on what Batman Joker faces. If it's "no kill rule" Batman Joker should be surprised. If it's murderous Batman it shouldn't surprise him. For example, Dark Knight Returns' Joker was surprised by it, but after Batman told him what it's the way he rolls now, Joker immediately loved it.

I dunno, I always felt like Cameron was a mix between a bunch of other jokers, including Ledger’s and Hamill’s. Like, he had that destructive, anarchist mentality of Heath, with an over-the-top, theatrical, larger-than-life performance like Mark and Jack Nicholson.

I love it, the face is very Arkham City esc. and while it would have been nice to complete the look with green hair the chemicals making J lose his hair is a smart workaround to W.B's ridiculous rules... plus it makes sense that the chemicals would cause hairloss.

Yea it's a very different kind of horror. Phoenix's is the sort of close-to-heart, painfully real sort of disturbing, the fear of losing one's mind in a heartless world. Monaghan's here (since he's had so many) is much more of a horror movie monster type what with his goblin-like features and eerie giggle. Kind of like the distinction between the 20th century IT and the 2017 IT's takes on Pennywise: Curry's was very much a real fear in that he portrayed the monster as a real-world pedophile, while Skasgad's is much more of a bizarre, unearthly Lovecraftian fear. Both are effective, but also distinctive in approach.

I think the reason for the lack of hair is because they were told by DC they weren't allowed to give their joker the green hair which is why you never saw Jeremiah or Jerome with the green hair
I'd absolutely loved Jeremiah's previous Joker appearance before he plummeted into the vat of corrosive chemicals. I think that would have been his signature Joker appearance at the Gotham series finale.

Personally think they should do something similar to Daredevil, similar tone, 13 episodes on DC streaming service, one villain, really develop the characters, Batman begins style, you could go on for years and give us so many awesome stories from the comics, i love movies but lets face it, some stories deserve more than a 2hr film esp some of the villains. You could run other series at the same time with other DC characters and do a team up one as well, rather that than movies as we get more that was as well

The Joker never had a specific look, especially during the later years. He is a disfigured smiling clown and he wears fancy clothes. They got that right.

I didn’t think that this transformation was real. This made me cry knowing Jeremiah as a person is truly dead which means he might never come back. I think it’s because I look up to him or something like that. But I’m also excited at the same time. I’ve gone and spoiled the show without watching a single episode and watched hours upon hours of content in the span of a couple of days (as of writing this).

@@temoii yeah but I mean like people in the comment section, go to a video that refers to jeremiah as the joker in the title and everyone loses their shit in the comments about it, on one such video I made a comment saying I wish I could believe in my head that hes the joker without being ridiculed and this guy just started ranting about how wrong I am about jeremiah, boy I wish I can find that comment thread now that hes confirmed to be the joker

Season 5 is by far the greatest season we've had, season 4 comes close. When did you stop watching?

@@jaker6363 Season 1 is the only mediocre season, then the show improves a lot, season after season. Seasons 3, 4 and 5 are really good (this last one is a bit rushed though, because they had to finish the show in 12 episodes instead of the usual 24). About season one it's great the storyline of the penguin, but aside from that is the lowest point in the series.

The escalation of Jeremiah is amazing. From a normal engineer to an insane psychopath, and he just keeps getting more insane.
Normal engineer? Dude made his mum believed that Jerome is a sick person, bullied Jerome when no one is around, and playing the good innocent kid while framing Jerome for his doing.
I ordered a Joker suit, and the timing is great. The finale is airing the same day the suit arrives.

I think this trailer had an Easter egg. The song I feel pretty is the song Jack Nicholson sings on anger management(came out in 2003 and starred Adam Sandler), yet Jack Nicholson also played the joker in the1989 Tim Burton's Batman film. Coincidence? I think not!
