Hopefully Batman's official first villain, Dr. Death makes it in this show. Hopefully the other first villains are included too such as Mad Monk, Carl Krueger, and more. Glad Onomatopoeia is getting a spotlight.
I'd be so excited if they brought in the Mad Monk and Dala. Also, they could throw in some other DC characters from that era who would fit the tone of the show, like Wesley Dodds as the Sandman.
I hope so too. This is sort of a tangent but I've always wanted to see a live action Batman movie directed by James Whale with this costume and with the Mad Monk and Hugo strange as the villains.
Hamish Linklater has come a looong way. From playing Julia Louis-Dreyfus' goofy brother on Old Christine to working with Mike Flanagan and Eric Kripke and now voicing the Batman on a Bruce Timm animated show.
Maybe it’s just me but I think it’s about time we get a fresh-sounding voice for Batman. The reason Conroy was so great is because the voice came naturally from him. And now that he’s sadly passed, all we can get are cheap imitations. So the right thing to do IMO would be to start from scratch and find someone who can play the duality of Bruce and Batman rather than trying to be Kevin Conroy when we’ll never get a genuine performance after Crisis 3.
It’s Sicilian defense by Rok Nardin. He mostly gets hired for trailer music or his songs get licensed for trailers. I feel like som don’t could really fit in the theme as well, like blood moon for example.
Oh wow hearing his voice brought a tear to my eye, he sounds perfect! 🥹 Kevin Conroy brought his voice to the role of a lifetime and it's now in good hands RIP Kevin 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Kind of tired of everybody comparing new voice actors to conroy. Let the man rest in peace and not constantly try to dig him out of his grave. The imitations make sense and are ok but we also should get unique performances. The main example being Kevin Michael Richardson and his role as the joker which was one of the best joker voices. The thing is it wasn’t being an imitation of mark hamill or at least not completely and that’s what we need.
Thank you. I am always a little afraid to say this. We all loved Conroy, but he wasn't the only one capable of doing a great batman voice. I know for a lot of people Conroy IS batman, but that just isn't something that ever resonated with me personally. Again, Conroy was great. He will be missed. But Batman is and has been many people over the years.
Kevin conroy is my favorite Batman voice of all time, his time on BTAS is fantastic. That said, I won’t deny there’s definitely others that do solid work on the Batman role too, Troy baker sounds great in tmnt vs Batman, the Batman show on kids WB was different but in a good way and the voice for Batman in that was awesome, the voice for Batman from justice league war up to apocalypse war is good too, and Craig Roger smith in Arkham origins I think is criminally underrated as Batman.
@@Ishicoatl he's actually pretty good too, but same time I can't help but think red hood. Dude just killed it with his performance in under the red hood and tends to be the voice I hear when reading lines spoken by him in the batfamily webcomics.

This disrespect for Abrams is wack. Have y'all forgotten the likes of Armageddon, Super 8, the Star Trek reboot series, and the Cloverfield series? If you're referring to the Star Wars sequels, TFA wasn't too bad, and TRoS was an impossible clean-up of the mess left behind by the director of TLJ.
The show looks great, but I can’t get over the fact that Warner Media spent at least a billion dollars on JJ Abrams, only to produce a single Batman cartoon on a competing streaming platform.
The old HBO president did. That’s why this show is on prime. Because Abraham’s gets ROYALTIES when he race and gender swaps. That’s why he changes things, don’t have to pay families of creators when you make certain changes. It’s why they introduced miles morales as spider man to not pay Steve Ditko family royalties. It’s a “new creation” and HBO new president wants to return to an authentic version of DCU that will stand test of time.

I actually like that they’re doing a callback to Bruce Timm’s art style for Batman:TAS while simultaneously paying homage to Bill Finger’s original design. I only wish Warner threw a larger budget at this so the studio could collaborate with those from across the world (similar to how WB Animation teamed up with anime studios in Japan such as Sunrise, TMS and Spectrum). Maybe collaborate with new studios such as The Line Animation and D’Art Shtajio, to name a few.
@@6DarthSion9 Yeah he's black I think and Harley is asian, typically not a fan of raceswapping in general however this was also confirmed to be not just a different time period but apparently a different universe all together. I remember early rumors were this was going to be TAS universe but just using that similar animation style thankfully lol.
The theme seems to be that they are going with the original designs for all the characters which date back to the late 30's early 40's. If you see what Alfred used to look like back in those comics he was indeed fat. The skinny Alfred that we are all used to seeing was not a thing until the late 50's.
adding to the above, Alfred (around this time) was less Watson to Bats' Holmes, and more of a comedic bumbler for everyone to wag their finger at and shake their head

@@mhollis1989 @brucekent9085 Yeah, I get it, it's just that I'm accustomed to the later depiction of Alfred so much that this version seems odd to me now.
I love how they used the original first appearance design of Batman With the gloves that aren't gauntlets with sharp hooks on the forearm. Instead of a bullet proof designed suit it's just a normal piece of spandex or sweater. The Bat symbol isn't big and scary, it's small and simple. Even the ears are curved like ears instead of the straight and sharp horn-esque ears on the cowl we usually get. And the Batmobile? Reminds me too much of the 80s..

She only kept the long nose and she became a sadistic murderer.
I find her scarier than other penguins not the best or true to the media
But yet again its just a batman show

I like how everything is styled with a 1930’s aesthetic! I hope this show gets a 5-season run. It would be fun to see how they handle Robin, which historically shows up around season 3. The last Batman show only lasted one season 😢
Robin shows up at the end of first season, if we compare it to the comics history. Way before Joker, Catwoman, Riddler, Two Face, etc
@@josesarango3408 oh I was referring to the the animated series, namely Batman: The Animated Series and The Batman. I grew up in the 90s, so that’s what I know. But if we go back far enough, I’m sure Robin was just always there from the start. In the 90s is probably when creators were more interested in solo Batman stories. It’s kind of been that way ever since. Always takes some time before getting to Robin these days.
@@PhilChoArt then dont use the word historically... in the 90s we had 2 movies featuring Robin and 2 without, how does that prove 90s was more into solo batman? It was Nolans DKT that started the no robin trend
Robin will probably be either at the end of this first season or leading into second season.
@@sean871 Yeah but it was 2 solo Batman movies first. Robin showed up in the third movie. My statement still checks out. Also, Robin showed up in The Dark Knight Rises too, also third movie. So yeah, historically, it's usually the third thing, movie or season.
I’ve found myself coming back to this trailer every couple of days. It’s JUST THAT GOOD
Anyone else feel like you can still hear Conroy in there? It’s an impression but still fantastic, can’t wait!
Linklater sounds the closest to Conroy. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. I'm so proud.
Yeah he definitely sounds like Conroy from the early days of BTAS.
No. This is just a generic Batman voice. It was also done by Jensen Ackles in the Tomorrowverse movies, Ben McKenzie in Batman: Year One, and others.
He definitely has that Conroy vibe. I'm excited to hear him in the series.
Kevin is in the series, voicing another character
No one could ever replace kevin conroy, but this looks and sounds like a good successor to the God tier series. As long as the writing is strong and the animation holds, this should be a crowd pleaser

@@cjtimmons5498you mean the eraser? I ain’t blaming you that villain was goated.
Why the team behind DC animated can not handle the DCEU is beyond me !
Hamish Linklater has come a looong way. From playing Julia Louis-Dreyfus' goofy brother on Old Christine to working with Mike Flanagan and Eric Kripke and now voicing the Batman on a Bruce Timm animated show.
That guitar rift in the trailer is a banger
Sicilian defense by Ron Nardin!
Idk who's voicing Batman, but I approve. He sounds like Batman to me!
Kevin Conroy. A legend so DEFINITIVE as the Batman that all successors will automatically try to imitate him.
Respect.
This sounds much more like Jensen Ackles in the Tomorrowverse movies or Ben McKenzie in Batman: Year One than Kevin Conroy.
He has nothing to do with this show
Hamish Linklater Batman voice is really good it kind of reminds me of Kevin Conroys voice in the original Batman the Animated series.
It feels refreshing to see the 1940’s style of Batman and all that comes with it - R.I.P Kevin Conroy
He has nothing to do with this show
Looks great, but female Penguin and a Harley without Joker.. yeah I don't have any hopes.
Oh come on now Harley and Joker are bad, because it would only confirm that the character is more than exploited, that is, the Joker.
That guitar hits that Beyond vibe a little bit, pretty jazzed for this
And the beware the bat vibe
It’s Sicilian defense by Rok Nardin. He mostly gets hired for trailer music or his songs get licensed for trailers. I feel like som don’t could really fit in the theme as well, like blood moon for example.
Oh wow hearing his voice brought a tear to my eye,
he sounds perfect! 🥹
Kevin Conroy brought his voice to the role of a lifetime and it's now in good hands RIP Kevin 🕊️🕊️🕊️
I think Linklater is gonna make a fine Batman, and I’m excited to see Onomatopoeia adapted. All in all, looks promising.
That music goes so hard! Hopefully we hear this theme in the show at some point. I just watched episode one last night. So dope.
Didn't show up in the show sadly but the song is Sicilian Defense by Rok Nardin.

Btw that frame at 1:18 is a direct reference to Batman TAS intro, NICE TOUCH
I guess DC stuff isn't for me. I prefer stuff like Avatar: The Last Airbender and even that is decades older than this
@@alphanumeric6582 How does this comment related to anything?
Everything about this trailer is perfection. The animation. The voice acting. Letting Batman BE A DETECTIVE!!!
I actually like Jensen Ackles' performance in the movies, it's low/deep enough and very serious sounding
@@Ishicoatl he's actually pretty good too, but same time I can't help but think red hood. Dude just killed it with his performance in under the red hood and tends to be the voice I hear when reading lines spoken by him in the batfamily webcomics.

Same
hopefully it just means he threw some money at it and nothing more. We'll see. Voice casting is solid, animation looks great, Timm is involved.
Yeah...same here.
@stillwatersrundeep001 I see your point. My whole thing is I'm a little worried, is all.
The show looks great, but I can’t get over the fact that Warner Media spent at least a billion dollars on JJ Abrams, only to produce a single Batman cartoon on a competing streaming platform.
When I'm in the hating-animation Olimpics and my contestant is Warner Brothers™
The old HBO president did. That’s why this show is on prime. Because Abraham’s gets ROYALTIES when he race and gender swaps. That’s why he changes things, don’t have to pay families of creators when you make certain changes. It’s why they introduced miles morales as spider man to not pay Steve Ditko family royalties. It’s a “new creation” and HBO new president wants to return to an authentic version of DCU that will stand test of time.
We better get a second season But probably wont because Everything needs to be Live action or this massive exspanded universe
I’m pretty sure Amazon already green lit a second season

Who cares! They are fictional characters. Every adaptation of a fictional character is going to be different based on the director’s or showrunner’s vision. As long as the core characteristics of the fictional character are maintained, it’s all about telling a story at the end of the day.
@@usernameperson6374 Me and people who grew up with those comics care.

Alfred ate too many suppers Bruce missed while being on a mission.
The theme seems to be that they are going with the original designs for all the characters which date back to the late 30's early 40's. If you see what Alfred used to look like back in those comics he was indeed fat. The skinny Alfred that we are all used to seeing was not a thing until the late 50's.

With the gloves that aren't gauntlets with sharp hooks on the forearm. Instead of a bullet proof designed suit it's just a normal piece of spandex or sweater.
