- Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human-the BATMAN. His one-man crusade attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.
Starring Hamish Linklater as Batman/Bruce Wayne, and featuring a star-studded ensemble cast including: Christina Ricci, Jamie Chung, Diedrich Bader, Minnie Driver, Mckenna Grace, Eric Morgan Stuart, Michelle C. Bonilla, Krystal Joy Brown, John DiMaggio, Paul Scheer, Reid Scott, Tom Kenny, Jason Watkins, Gary Anthony Williams, Dan Donohue, David Krumholtz, Haley Joel Osment and Toby Stephens.
From the minds of executive producers J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm, season one of Batman: Caped Crusader arrives August 1 to Prime Video.
R.I.P Kevin Conroy 😢
We will see if this series does justice to his legacy
Cant be worse than the suicide squad game that much is certain but i heard he pulled a fast one after that debacle and is voicing batman for the infinate crisis part 3 animated saga so that is already established that his legacy is not getting tarnished regardless what we get on this one. @ChuckFinelyForever

He truly was Batman
The Golden Age character designs are so good. Batman looks like his earliest appearances, Catwoman's wearing her best 40s costume, and Gotham has that retro BTAS style. I gotta say, this looks really, really good.
Golden age was called the golden age for a reason.
Wish they would tone it back to that level, bring back the original costumes. And actually let the continuity move forward like it did during pc....
@@sudanemamimikiki1527Yes, that's what 40s comics were famous for, their incredible continuity
Ah yes. Pc. The other name for golden age.
@@veronicamcghie5238sarcasm? I wouldn't know cos I didn't read the golden age stuff
@@klas-6 Extreme sarcasm. Golden Age comic books were disposable affairs like newspapers or magazines, intended to be read and then thrown away. Golden Age stories were short affairs (often three different stories to a single issue), designed to be read even if you'd never read another comic before. They had all the continuity of a Looney Tunes story.
Linklater is a great choice for Batman. Definitely fits the tone of the show and the era. Props to him for filling in the shoes of Batman. Really won't be easy now that Kevin is no longer with us, but I think this could be a hit.
I think Linklater is doing great

Linklater sounds the closest to Conroy. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. I'm so proud.
Yeah he definitely sounds like Conroy from the early days of BTAS.
No. This is just a generic Batman voice. It was also done by Jensen Ackles in the Tomorrowverse movies, Ben McKenzie in Batman: Year One, and others.

so hyped we’re actually getting another batman animated show they’re normally peak
Should have begun animated Batman in 1966.
Kind of tired of everybody comparing new voice actors to conroy. Let the man rest in peace and not constantly try to dig him out of his grave. The imitations make sense and are ok but we also should get unique performances. The main example being Kevin Michael Richardson and his role as the joker which was one of the best joker voices. The thing is it wasn’t being an imitation of mark hamill or at least not completely and that’s what we need.
Thank you. I am always a little afraid to say this. We all loved Conroy, but he wasn't the only one capable of doing a great batman voice. I know for a lot of people Conroy IS batman, but that just isn't something that ever resonated with me personally. Again, Conroy was great. He will be missed. But Batman is and has been many people over the years.
Kevin conroy is my favorite Batman voice of all time, his time on BTAS is fantastic. That said, I won’t deny there’s definitely others that do solid work on the Batman role too, Troy baker sounds great in tmnt vs Batman, the Batman show on kids WB was different but in a good way and the voice for Batman in that was awesome, the voice for Batman from justice league war up to apocalypse war is good too, and Craig Roger smith in Arkham origins I think is criminally underrated as Batman.
I actually like Jensen Ackles' performance in the movies, it's low/deep enough and very serious sounding
@@Ishicoatl he's actually pretty good too, but same time I can't help but think red hood. Dude just killed it with his performance in under the red hood and tends to be the voice I hear when reading lines spoken by him in the batfamily webcomics.
I actually like that they’re doing a callback to Bruce Timm’s art style for Batman:TAS while simultaneously paying homage to Bill Finger’s original design.
I only wish Warner threw a larger budget at this so the studio could collaborate with those from across the world (similar to how WB Animation teamed up with anime studios in Japan such as Sunrise, TMS and Spectrum). Maybe collaborate with new studios such as The Line Animation and D’Art Shtajio, to name a few.
Y’all used Onomatopoeia… so psyched.
"I am vengeance, I am the night, I am Batman!"
Rest in peace, Kevin Conroy. Your voice is truly the voice of Batman 😢❤🦇
Has anyone else noticed that Clayface looks 85-90% more like Jonah Hex than he normally looks in his clay form in this trailer?
Originally Clayface was just like a slasher serial killer, but then they changed for a guy made Up of Clay.
They turned Alfred Pennyworth to Alfred Hitchcock 🫤
That was Alfred's original look when they first brought him into the comics. He actually used to be the comedy sidekick before the canon updated and he became Bruce's surrogate father.
Alfred Beagle would be more accurate
I'm sure he'll slim down in season 2, opting in for a more nutritious diet free of succulent burgers and crispy fried chicken.
Looks great, but female Penguin and a Harley without Joker.. yeah I don't have any hopes.
Oh come on now Harley and Joker are bad, because it would only confirm that the character is more than exploited, that is, the Joker.
This could be perfect.
I might try and watch it.
Perfect would be with Kevin Conroy, but this looks really good!
perfect would be with a white gordon
@@TsukasaF4 Yep.
This show is terrible. I’m a lifelong Batman fan, and I turned this off after 10 min

0:44 reminds me of the Tony Zucco episode of BTAS
The series looks promising
RIP to Kevin Conroy. I know we will miss him, as the one true voice for Batman, but sometimes, we must try to support those carrying his legacy. Nothing lasts forever, iconic voice actors behind iconic characters are bound to change someday and we got to learn to accept that.
Hopefully JJ Abrams won't actually be making any decisions on this.
Can't believe they made Alfred fat

He was dark skin in the Batman movie
This has me thinking...what if we had a Batman cartoon that featured the 1939 Batman who was willing to kill, not with guns but with his bare hands and tech? It would be a change of pace if nothing else. And it would allow the writers to explore just how dark Batman could REALLY go. How traumatized would Wayne have to be for him to say "No rules. If you're guilty, your dead!" but instead of being the punisher who is willing to shoot people indiscriminately Wayne's anger still has to be navigated through the Batman persona and he would decide on a case by case basis who dies. It would also make the Villains truly afraid that their latest night of crime could be their last.
Just imagine seeing a preview of a cartoon where we have the infamous line
"He's falling into the acid rink!"
"A fitting end for his kind!"
It would also be an unpredictable show-all bets are off and the audience wouldn't be able to predict what comes next.
I really hope this show has multiple seasons that jump on a decade each season, so, season 2 can be set in the 50s, season 3 set in the 60s...This would be epic.

No one could ever replace kevin conroy, but this looks and sounds like a good successor to the God tier series. As long as the writing is strong and the animation holds, this should be a crowd pleaser
Black woke commissioner Gordon not watching
Give the show a try though. If you ignore the couple of woke moments, you can actually enjoy the Show.
Ok, let me get it straight... beside Batman himself, every good character is now black and the bad guys are white?
(and Alfred is fat, for some reason)
Why the team behind DC animated can not handle the DCEU is beyond me !
It feels refreshing to see the 1940’s style of Batman and all that comes with it - R.I.P Kevin Conroy
He has nothing to do with this show
That guitar hits that Beyond vibe a little bit, pretty jazzed for this
And the beware the bat vibe
It’s Sicilian defense by Rok Nardin. He mostly gets hired for trailer music or his songs get licensed for trailers. I feel like som don’t could really fit in the theme as well, like blood moon for example.
More bait n switch garbage. Are we sure Kevin Smith wasn’t involved? Batman takes a back seat in every episode to strong diverse female who, in some cases, do all the detective work for the worlds greatest detective. 👎
That guitar rift in the trailer is a banger
Sicilian defense by Ron Nardin!
Not good. Expected more
thats what you get for expecting so much from 1 season
@@Madboygamer. nah. Its not good. Thats all
@@tomhardy6442 than go keep watching your stupid brain rot instead of complaining about shows that actual have qualility
@@Madboygamer.They are mad about fictional characters what do you expect
Alfred ate too many suppers Bruce missed while being on a mission.
The theme seems to be that they are going with the original designs for all the characters which date back to the late 30's early 40's. If you see what Alfred used to look like back in those comics he was indeed fat. The skinny Alfred that we are all used to seeing was not a thing until the late 50's.
adding to the above, Alfred (around this time) was less Watson to Bats' Holmes, and more of a comedic bumbler for everyone to wag their finger at and shake their head
@@brucekent9085 Gordon being black isn't the original design though. Mind you, I'm not complaining; it works for him just like it worked for Nick Fury.
@@mhollis1989 @brucekent9085 Yeah, I get it, it's just that I'm accustomed to the later depiction of Alfred so much that this version seems odd to me now.
almost accurate to the 40s, cept Gordon is black now 🤷
We better get a second season But probably wont because Everything needs to be Live action or this massive exspanded universe
I’m pretty sure Amazon already green lit a second season
Hamish Linklater the actor making Batman voice already confirmed they're recording for season 2
@@JMarcosMD99 looking forward to it, honestly.
It says season 1 on the trailer 😂😂😂
My Adventures with Superman?
ok but why are the Gordans black?
Why not?
@@jordanloux3883 why?
Because they needed a way to make his daughter (a redhead) black
Because Hollywood has a thing against gingers for some reason.
So we don't have you anti woke mofos liking the show
shows a disgrace to the franchise
Oh no they switched some genders around (like BTAS did) oh noooo
Oh, no they switched some colors around, how dare they not make everything white, oh noooo,
Bruce Timm is fully woke. It was his choice to make Superman mexican, and now he brings us this horror show. Did you notice Bruce Wayne is wearing eyeliner 2? I wonder what they'll be all about that later on 🤷
Gotta make Gordon black cause wokeness
Cry about it
@@MarkyMarcSpectorTell me you rather get lectured/preached then be entertained without telling me you rather get lectured/preached then entertained.
Hamish Linklater has come a looong way. From playing Julia Louis-Dreyfus' goofy brother on Old Christine to working with Mike Flanagan and Eric Kripke and now voicing the Batman on a Bruce Timm animated show.
Kevin Conroy. A legend so DEFINITIVE as the Batman that all successors will automatically try to imitate him.
Respect.
Maybe it’s just me but I think it’s about time we get a fresh-sounding voice for Batman. The reason Conroy was so great is because the voice came naturally from him. And now that he’s sadly passed, all we can get are cheap imitations. So the right thing to do IMO would be to start from scratch and find someone who can play the duality of Bruce and Batman rather than trying to be Kevin Conroy when we’ll never get a genuine performance after Crisis 3.
This sounds much more like Jensen Ackles in the Tomorrowverse movies or Ben McKenzie in Batman: Year One than Kevin Conroy.
He has nothing to do with this show
I’ve found myself coming back to this trailer every couple of days. It’s JUST THAT GOOD
Looks

GOOD
Btw that frame at 1:18 is a direct reference to Batman TAS intro, NICE TOUCH
I guess DC stuff isn't for me. I prefer stuff like Avatar: The Last Airbender and even that is decades older than this

Yup! Bruce timm brought us Mexican Superman and now this hot trash.
The show looks great, but I can’t get over the fact that Warner Media spent at least a billion dollars on JJ Abrams, only to produce a single Batman cartoon on a competing streaming platform.
When I'm in the hating-animation Olimpics and my contestant is Warner Brothers™
The old HBO president did. That’s why this show is on prime. Because Abraham’s gets ROYALTIES when he race and gender swaps. That’s why he changes things, don’t have to pay families of creators when you make certain changes. It’s why they introduced miles morales as spider man to not pay Steve Ditko family royalties. It’s a “new creation” and HBO new president wants to return to an authentic version of DCU that will stand test of time.
If that background music is the new theme, I'm with it! Cant wait until August 1st.
Rok nardins Sicilian defense is the song! Probably not the new theme though sadly. His music is mostly used for trailers.
@@milesperhour2286Thank you for sharing that, love this song!
I see we are race swapping Gordon and Barbara, and Alfred is now fat. Yup, definitely in line with amazon prime stuff.
Fun Comic Fact: Alfred was portly in his first appearance but after the first Batman movie in the 50s came out this fact was retconed.😅
@@kwayneboy1524 Not only was Alfred fat, he was the slapstick comic relief
I'm sure he'll slim down in season 2, opting in for a more nutritious diet free of succulent burgers and crispy fried chicken.
