- In today's video, we head to Lake James North Carolina to bass fish! Lake James NC is the best smallmouth bass fishing lake in the state of North Carolina. Lake James fishing is known for its smallmouth bass population and holds some true giants. Lake James bass fishing is a rewarding experience for the angler who is lucky enough to fish it. Bass fishing is one of my favorite things to do especially learning new bodies of water. Lake James smallmouth can grow well into the 5-pound range if you are lucky and there are many lake James fishing guides. You can find many fishing guide western North Carolina that can be tailored to your desired experience. There are plenty of fishing guide Lake James to make your experience memorable. Before going to Lake James North Carolina, I did not realize that meanmouth bass is in the lake. Mean mouth bass is becoming more commonplace here in western North Carolina due to people illegally transporting bass to bodies of water. Winter bass fishing can be a very productive time on James and you can defintly catch a giant this time of year! Lake James nc fishing will hold a special place in my memories and make me want to catch a smallmouth out of there even more. Lake James North Carolina fishing is well known for its smallmouth bass population and quality. Lake James nc bass fishing is a fun experience for anyone in western North Carolina. Lake James nc fishing guides are a good idea if you are new to fishing in North Carolina. Lake James state park is a good place to check out for easy access to bank fishing spots. Great video. I’ve been looking at making the three hour trip to Lake James. Looking like between June and August. Any tips on baits, depths, launches and places to stay (VBRO, campgrounds, hotels) and eat? Thanks in advance.
They’ll probably be out deeper but you can still find them up shallow too. There’s quite a few campgrounds you can stay at there and they all ok really nice. You can also camp at the state park too. Food wise I would check out around Marion they have a lot of different places to eat. Thank you for watching I really appreciate it! Keep me updated with how it goes

@@nickjohnson9770 I don’t take out my jon boat much anymore because of me getting my new kayak. Whenever I’m fishing in my kayak I always have my life jacket on and I’ll be putting out some really good videos here on some WNC lakes over the next couple of weeks. @@RiverRatProductions Meanmouths are hybrid Smallmouths and he could very well be correct. I fished there many times and never knew they had hybrids. I enjoyed tge video. Keep up the great work and fish often
@NcWraith Yeah it’s become an issue over the past couple of years and a lot of lakes in western North Carolina have meanmouth present now. Fontana has quite a few I have never caught a smallmouth out of there just hybrids. I’m glad you enjoyed the video I want to try to go back to lake James here soon!
Mean mouths have a patch of teeth on there tongues
I’m not used to catching mean mouths but lake James is definitely full of them it seems like. I’ll keep this is mind when I’m not sure if it’s a smallmouth or not. Thank you for letting me know about that I really appreciate it!
Mean mouths get quite a bit bigger than spots to. In a tournament last year and a woman caught 6+lb mm over by the canal bridge dam!
Wow that’s actually crazy!!! I couldn’t even imagine how hard a 6 pound mean mouth would fight
