Another Merry Pranksters Joint dialect chapters： Pig Farmer, Farmer, Salesman, Militia, Mountain Man

Farmington High School 10th grade English teacher, Mrs. Wildt, made us read Huck Finn wherein Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) wrote in dialect for his character, Jim, who said "shet de do" (shut the door). That stuck with me, and at some point in early 2007 after I met my wife, I found myself writing a bunch of stories in dialect, very much inspired by the public education I had got a decade or so prior.
The larger project began under the first chapter's title: The Burdens of Being Upright. The collection of shorts grew to include other stories in the same style as the first chapter, but another set of intermixed dialect stories were added before the project became "Another Merry Pranksters Joint", a play on Spike Lee’s trademark.

The Merry Pranksters never trademarked their outfit's name, but still I feel license to use this trade name is important, and in the case of this author, Zane Kesey’s reception of the author into the band was grant of license back in 2006-07 during email conversations while the author was in China finishing an earlier book and working on the current title. The collective works of his father’s literary group provided inspiration, so the title seemed appropriate after Kesey welcomed this prankster apparent. And there ought to be more Merry Pranksters’ Joints in this author’s opinion - literary, audiovisual, or however they roll out…just keep the presses turning and the creativity alive.
The chapters in this video are projected while the author reads the text which may be otherwise impossible for most readers to interpret, due to the accent and approximate phonetic spelling.
The whole collection of short stories was intended to be illustrated (illest-rated, illest-rationz) by Theo Page, or T-Yo, or "Joe" as named in the manuscript. Sadly, Theo passed prior to his completion of the project, so it is still without an illest-rater. The illest-rations are at least as important to the story as the text, so the project is nowhere near whole as it stands. Nonetheless, the content and style of the storytelling hold value after all these years.
Note: Pig Farmer is a very disturbing story. Pig Farmer is a fictional character, but others named in the story were real serial killers. The story is a political statement intended to draw attention to the problem of homicide. The remaining chapters are cartoonish “thespionage” fictions in an alternate dimension including a cast of original nonhuman characters who participate in Bustin Suds and Thespionage. The whole collection of short stories is intended to be satirical commentary on some serious, some common, some odd, and some imagined issues in our modern world. It is serious and not serious at the same time. It is Another Merry Pranksters Joint, and as such, it covers a whole range of thoughts and feelings that can be contradictory, confusing, and somewhat disturbing...but funny at the same time…especially with great cartoons and detailed drawings to help the labor of love come alive…
