Those all great ideas and invented use full items. I even like the bus that separate itself to drop off people to they location cause not everyone goes the same route. And some it takes walking distance to public transit. With that invention or Taxi what ever it is its great. And the size and space parking is perfect. I want to high tech my home.
With this video and home videos I've been watching just gave me a perfect combination ideas to combine of doing for my home.
The last video. To depend on battery all the time for a bus. This only could work for local commute bus. Not for long distance travel bus.

I believe the vast majority are just concepts!! But the model (1) Tesla caught my attention for its simplicity, but with a light touch of modernity! (3) Mercedes Future refers to the idea of comfort, beauty and practicality! The blue LEDs gave the body a gentle touch. (8) Iveco Z Truck is the most incredible complete and the most beautiful among all!! This defines the word futuristic in the literal sense of the word. Amazing!

I'll always love the old Peterbilt, Mack, Kenworth and the like highway tractors and especially love the triple axle Pacific logging trucks from the west coast, good lookin tough as nails trucks. Sure they've gone through an engine or 3 in that time haha but overall they were all good trucks that survived many different and sometimes rammy shitty operators! These here trucks look rather delicate, fragile even LOL!
An engine or3? Doesn't sound reliable for a vehicle made for fuel efficiency only and doing constant speed. And really. Tough. Heavy duty. You don't need that. Efficiency and reliability is all. Reliability to a point, it's OK to maintain its not OK to have it strand somewhere. It's not OK to take 100percent more fuel

All of these vehicles introduce excellent concepts for vehicle automation and safety but the biggest issue on our streets and highways in every country around the world is the unknowns created by other drivers. Notice I said "drivers" and not other vehicles because ultimately it's the driver that must ensure a vehicle is safe and that they know how to operate and handle that vehicle responsibly. This level of automation will only work if either countries come up with dedicated intercity roadways and city driving lanes for fully automated vehicles or we have a global infrastructure overhaul that eliminates over 40 percent of the vehicles on our roads now while bringing streets and roadways up to the tech level as the vehicles in this video. I like how after 100 years these companies like MBenz and Volvo suddenly realise it could be worthwhile making a truck aerodynamic.
The self driving thing: honestly you can forget it anywhere where there is a possibility of wildlife on the highway, hills, mountains, bad roads, road works, accidents, bad drivers, or towns where you have to suddenly reduce your speed to half cruising speed. That’s most of the world.
Trucks with the engine bay poking out like that are banned in europe, which is their main market. They also aren't any more aerodynamic, they're also flat as fuck.

@Bainsworth I don’t want to see anything but diesel powered trucks. If cold weather can shut down an electrical power plant what good is that for anyone relying on it. I’m forced to drive a natural gas truck and it sucks. Lack of power on the hills and runs excessively hot. Plus who wants to fuel 3 times a shift? I will take a thirteen speed diesel Mack any day over the garage coming out.

Думаю, то, что пойдёт в серию, будет намного адекватнее реальным дорожным условиям. И люкс-квартиры из кабин реальных грузовиков тоже ещё очень не скоро делать начнут. Вот автопилот - совсем другое дело. На дорогах Европы, цивилизованной Азии и Америки его, пожалуй, уже сегодня внедрять можно, вместе с гибридами и электротягой. Ну, а остальным странам, по одёжке и ножки протягивать. Когда-нибудь и к ним прогресс дойдёт, если, конечно, самим постараться: и дороги нормальные строить и содержать правильно, и околодорожную инфраструктуру развивать и, опять-таки, содержать правильно, и к людям относиться подобающим образом, а не вякать, что бабы новых нарожают - вот тогда, глядишь, сами водилы спросят, почему наши грузовики не Мерседесы и не Вольво, да и работать в униформе "золотой роты" не захотят... Подлинный кошмар для нынешних "хозяев" начнётся... Почему и не верю я в такое будущее.

I think the future of self-driving vehicles is fraught with difficult issues, and yet my hunch is that we will continue moving toward that. It makes great sense to create a technology that will allow big trucks to move goods at night, reducing traffic in daytime.

Ты ошибаешься. Инфраструктуры под самоуправляемые транспортные средства нет нигде вне стран золотого миллиарда. Ну и воровать с таких траков начнут довольно быстро. Чего легче чем остановить этот трак и ограбить? Там же нет никого. Кто будет отвечать если машина без водителя устроит дтп несмотря на всю электронику которая туда напихана. Ведь достаточно залепить снегом его камеры или грязью и вот машинка станет слепой и глухой как крот. Остановят машинку эту, открутят с нее колеса, сольют солярку, снимут дорогие детали, разграбят груз, если он ликвиден. Дальше страховые задерут цены на страховку таких перевозок. Ну грубо говоря самоуправляемый трак в сложных условиях на снегу или гололеде будет чего делать? Кто цепи ему оденет хотя бы?

while a diesel truck without the 40 ton does it in 15 sec so the tesla truck is 5 sec slower but 5 sec slower with 40 ton weight

Yeah they have been showing off these futuristic designs for the last 30 years now and apart from being a little more aerodynamic they are no different now to then.
These days, as transportation technology has improved almost every week, roads become wider better lit, vehicles also improved and faster, but accidents has bacome spontaniously inspite of the many improvements in transportation. Human error increases as technology made them disregard basic driving method

Like in all fields improvements in technology have reduced accidents per capita. The final solution will be when the human element is eliminated and we have complete autonomous driving.
