Honestly, this is one of the only videos in which I have found Bearded funny. The others are actually those with Big Joey, so you're definitely right about them making a good team. I think Bearded's humour has just gotten better recently, as opposed to just being mic spamming and noise.

11:48 They probably manipulated the image that a cubemap entity shows whenever you get close enough to change what you see in reflectivity and made the doors a material that was completely reflective. You know how sometimes you get weird pink and black reflectivity? Usually a custom reflective image failed to load.
yep! there's a copy of the whole spawnroom out of bounds with a high res cubemap in it, assigned to the doors in the actual spawn. the doors in the actual spawnroom have a material shader called WindowImposter, which only takes a cubemap as a parameter and ignores things like turning off mat_specular.

12:08 If anyone is wondering how is this done - 2forts cubemap ( stuff the source negine uses to generate reflections ) is applied to the door texture.
From someone who playtested this map before it was officially released, I'm SO glad to see it getting attention and I always get a kick out of peoples reactions to all the whacked out shit the creator put in there. It was easily one of my favourite of the April Fools maps done for TF2Maps. Glad to see you also enjoyed it as much as I did X3

8:50 I figured out that this effect with the fading in props is an optimization feature set manually for each prop by map makers. Typically map makers don’t notice it, but it has a near/far value you can set to anything.
30 seconds in and its already chaotic, this is gonna be good.

gotta say the amount of effort on a lot of the map's interactions and visuals is outstanding.
The plane dropping the train that actually crashes down breaking stuff along the way, the weird reapearing direction panels, the engi dot, the fucking 2fort mirror thing.
Its amazing.
Bearded's antics make my day so much better, I haven't laughed as much at anything else than I have at what he does

The B-52 bomber that delivers the train at the start is references Dr. Strangelove, you can even hear someone yelling as the train falls
