They are not aliens. They are robots that are designed to look like Sniper. Also, alternates use psychological force to harm humans and make them kill themselves. They do not kill you just by looking at you.
Fun fact: building a teleporter before they shoot will make them shoot that. Paired with the Eurika, you can place 8 in a row, letting you get enough time to reach them and gun one down. This only works when one is in view at a time.

I know the reason why the tend to shoot the teleporters, Its because they use the i.d of the hitbox to detect what hitbox is the head, and it just so happens that teleporters have the same i.d as the head hitbox
Did this to a script kiddie running Heavy on Goldrush First. Turns out that guaranteed crits and invuln are nothing next to five engies actively shutting you down with knockback, negating your damage with healing, and your team actively leaving you out to dry.
Can't believe you can play MvM on 2Fort now. But in all seriouesness, this reminded me of that old TF2 community gamemode called "Tower Defense" where a team of Engineers neded to defend the base against MvM robots.

this reminds me of a game I had around two years ago. I hopped into a casual 2fort server, only to be greeted by teleporters and dispensers. the teleporters took me to BLU's intel, where there 11 engineers, all with sentries set up, not doing anything else. I was, of course, extremely confused, and asked what was going on, to which the people said "BLU is all bots". Well, except for a single scout. after a while, we all started moving into their spawn room, placing the sentries right up in their face. that scout I mentioned earlier was now completely trapped, he couldn't do anything but die and respawn, like the bots. We were essentially just farming kills, and noone could stop us. eventually, I left, but every once in a while, I think about that game.
I literally just had a match like this. We were invaded by bots, but didn’t give up, slowly having both teams work up the numbers to kick all the bots. In the meantime, we would have our team (RED) defend with tons of sentries and dispensers. It was honestly really fun.

What happened back then was the craziest thing I've seen where I started as the only engi to defend the base then more engies appeared and we all started building up a defense and moving up to the bridge with our sentries and teleporters and dispenser. We eventually got able to spawn camp all the bots in all the spots they could spawn and we were like "Keep defending!!!" while someone became scout and quickly went and won the game for us That was probably the most chaotic bot encounter I've had and it was amazing how coordinated we were to stop all bots.

@@mewexe3988 Its a cosmetic item that works just like the Pyro Vision Googles, except it only works in the MvM gamemode and also can have its effects shared with the whole team. The Rome Vision is quite underwhelming tho, because the only thing it does is swap the standard robot models for their Roman Army style counterparts.

I love the Team coordination, reminds me of when i played Dustbowl with the enemy team being bots, while we were defending. All of us were just hiding behind our dispensers, with a help from our medic and other classes, overall we won that round And then it was OUR turn to attack, it was damn hard as hell using vaccs and heavies, and also 2 scouts, despite all that rough shit. We won the whole match.

Dr. Elysium here, for those woundering how the hell I got a tele in their intel I had the med use uber on me while I went through sewers. I lost the med but managed to somehow evade the bots on the walk to their intel.
Insane how Valve`s neglect have given us fun new game modes. I remember my team played against full bot team on Dustbowl. Was a fun game, engineers on defense, vac medics on offense, managed to win in the end.
He got insanely lucky lol what happened in that instance was the blu team bots were all stacked together and their hot boxes were overlapping and whenever you do a melee attack your own teammates hotboxes will have priority So when they all tried to melee him the others took those melee hits effectively "missing" the engineer
you lads deserve not one, not two, not three, but five gold medals each for doing what might literally have been the impossible, beat Sniper Bots at their own domination game. I commend you lot for your extreme effort and sacrifice, may God bless you and your Engineer Crew indefinitely
This could be it's own custom game mode. It could be called "Gain Ground" as a reference to the classic sega game where an AI captures soldiers in a vr war simulator and you need to slowly move up and fight against the ai forces. If a soldier dies you instead stay on the battle field frozen and in order to get that soldier back another soldier needs to put themselves at risk to pick them up and carry them to the goal in order to be revived.
see it would seem fun at first glance but some moments like this is fun cuz u never expect it to happen and it feels great when ur entire team unites for 1 proper goal. going into a gamemode like that intentionally wont really be that fun
Someone should make a community server that has one side full of bots so that we can practice fighting against bots when they show up in a casual match. A tutorial maybe.
theres a map called newbots where you 1v1 against a bot of any class you pick, it'd be cool if there was a version of that but its any class of your choice with aimbot

I remember being in a server in this exact situation, sadly since the bots were kicking any not bot on their team we were getting autobalanced slowly. And thats how i left the server, getting autobalanced and then kicked
Another Strat that I found is before moving into bot prone areas, send a group of scouts that crowd around the bot to distract them. One time I was in a match where the opposing team was all bots and me and a group of 4 other scouts just collectively swarmed wandering bots, bonked them with our melee and taunted after every kill
I once joined a game of mercenary park like this. We went all engi's and won. Then we were put on attacking and stacked heavies and medics and won again, it was fun.
A normal game on a regular server, suddenly a lot of bots appears and start headshoting people, in your screen a message spawns "now youre allies with blue/red, protect your friends!" An inmortal saxton hale busts out of a wall and charges at the bots to focus the fire on him so the teams can gun the bots down
Boys: *Leave when the other team is mostly bots* Men: *Tries to defend which gives them a 50/50 chance* Chads: We will fight till our breath is no more! We will defeat our enemy! And we will spawncamp these FUCKING BOTS!!!!!!
I know bots are bad for the game, but it is really fun knowing you could die at any moment and slowly gaining ground until you push back. It's really fun IMO
way easier to defeat the bots as a vac pocketed soldier or whatever ime kill them all then get like 4 engies to put sentries in front of all spawn exits, boom you won team fortress 2
The hero's we need in this time of need. Also by continuing this game, you effectively held 12 bots in one place, with their code keeping them from leaving. Good job.
For anyone curious a soldier stack with the battalions works pretty well for the offense in an operation like this. As long as you time your banners right you can block the instant headshots and let the engineers push up to the spawn rooms
Oh my god, a similar thing happened to me several weeks ago. It was enclosure casual, second stage. Bots had flooded the server and everyone on both sides left except for me(I was playing sniper)and a demoman. We were on defence, and the bots had pushed up to the final cap of the second stage. So, that demo and I held them off; I hid around a corner in sight of the cart with that large pile of boards in front of me. I would snipe off any bots trying to push the cart and duck so that they couldn’t kill me, and the demo would trap the cart and push out to kill any bots. We held out until the bots all left, probably due to lack of players, and new actual players joined soon after. So that’s how we defended enclosure from bots.

Dr. Elysium here, for those woundering how the hell I got a tele in their intel I had the med use uber on me while I went through sewers. I lost the med but managed to somehow evade the bots on the walk to their intel.

what happened in that instance was the blu team bots were all stacked together and their hot boxes were overlapping and whenever you do a melee attack your own teammates hotboxes will have priority
So when they all tried to melee him the others took those melee hits effectively "missing" the engineer
also the bots aimed at the sentry instead of him, which was a crucial part of his survival, other than the melee overlap
he even had 12 hp
you lads deserve not one, not two, not three, but five gold medals each for doing what might literally have been the impossible, beat Sniper Bots at their own domination game. I commend you lot for your extreme effort and sacrifice, may God bless you and your Engineer Crew indefinitely

This could be it's own custom game mode. It could be called "Gain Ground" as a reference to the classic sega game where an AI captures soldiers in a vr war simulator and you need to slowly move up and fight against the ai forces. If a soldier dies you instead stay on the battle field frozen and in order to get that soldier back another soldier needs to put themselves at risk to pick them up and carry them to the goal in order to be revived.
see it would seem fun at first glance but some moments like this is fun cuz u never expect it to happen and it feels great when ur entire team unites for 1 proper goal. going into a gamemode like that intentionally wont really be that fun

Another Strat that I found is before moving into bot prone areas, send a group of scouts that crowd around the bot to distract them. One time I was in a match where the opposing team was all bots and me and a group of 4 other scouts just collectively swarmed wandering bots, bonked them with our melee and taunted after every kill

I once joined a game of mercenary park like this. We went all engi's and won. Then we were put on attacking and stacked heavies and medics and won again, it was fun.
Now imagine if valve somehow turned this into an actual gamemode,by funneling all bots in just one place.

Also by continuing this game, you effectively held 12 bots in one place, with their code keeping them from leaving. Good job.
For anyone curious a soldier stack with the battalions works pretty well for the offense in an operation like this. As long as you time your banners right you can block the instant headshots and let the engineers push up to the spawn rooms

Oh my god, a similar thing happened to me several weeks ago. It was enclosure casual, second stage. Bots had flooded the server and everyone on both sides left except for me(I was playing sniper)and a demoman. We were on defence, and the bots had pushed up to the final cap of the second stage. So, that demo and I held them off; I hid around a corner in sight of the cart with that large pile of boards in front of me. I would snipe off any bots trying to push the cart and duck so that they couldn’t kill me, and the demo would trap the cart and push out to kill any bots. We held out until the bots all left, probably due to lack of players, and new actual players joined soon after. So that’s how we defended enclosure from bots.
