Oh its basically not there man And If I wasn't already looking for an infil I would not have said that's probably an infil, a few white pixels dose not equate to an infil. It would be so easy to fix bolters just put a longer delay on cloak and de-cloak make it louder for longer and allow them to cloak a little longer so they don't complain. I really like your two suggestions. I've been wondering if it'd be a good idea to just remove the cloaks except for the stalker and giving them some other cool recon-y ability but that feels kind of mean.
I've been playing infiltrator for around 5 years (I'm still considered a scrub compared to veterans), anyways i don't even think the main issue is that you can become invisible, which is not really something you can sustain with hunter cloack and you can't simply run around as if nobody will see you nor you can trick an experienced player so easily. I believe CQC sniping with 4x scope or less is what triggers people the most and should be removed just as the Commisioner which is hevaily abused by vets to 1 shot people . Also the ammount of actually experienced infil players that I've witnessed doing crazy stuff is extremely limited either in Connery or Emerald (idk elsewhere) most of infils can pull a sneaky kill and so on but the amount of muscle memory and experience needed to perform well as an infil makes many people go HA or something else instead. In short, remove CQC sniping and the tears may stop flowing.
You might need to check your actual monitor hardware or monitor settings. I used to play on potato, then got sick of it and started playing on medium, then upgraded my video card and play on high. Never had any trouble seeing them.
Infil having a built in audible 1 second cloak and decloak fixes a lot of issues. SMG infils being able to crouch in a corner and headshot you before even decloaking is a joke and 70% of the playerbase gravitates to this playstyle because its easy.
I have always seen infiltrators as an incredibly important disruptor that permeates and destabilizes the frontlines to keep the battle moving and keep defenders on their toes. I would love to see a more fair and functional infiltrator in a hypothetical Planetside 3. But I think that their state in Planetside 2 is... Acceptable. Not good, but fine. I would rather see dev time focused on a sequel than on changing a critical gameplay balance element that has been in the game for 11 years. @7:15 Dropping the graphics to potato mode definitely makes the Infiltrator shimmer a lot more noticable this is not an excuse I think they should make the cloak less effective at close distances.
bro there are tradeoffs to everything. infils shield/hp maximum is 1 tappable by commisioner etc in exchange for being able to cloak. the 1 tap bolt actions dont mean shit if u run resist shield on HA as that will prevent the 1 tap so long as u are at full shield/hp. keep in mind resist shield is dmg resistance where as the other shields strength decay over time and will not stop 1 taps from top end boltys. in an exchange you have theoretical advantage but like all games not all scenarios play out the same. stop trying to push for lessening ppls gameplay just to suit your own. remove infil cloak just tips the scales over to other side and then u got inbalance AGAIN. its fine the way it is. tl;dr GIT GUD
