Hi Stuart, thank you for your video, 40ft Shipping Container Home | 2022 TOTAL COST Breakdown. We have a total of 420 zoned lots averaging 3,200 sq ft. which we are selling in Alberta, Canada. The infrastructure for Phase 1 has been completed for 150 fully serviced lots (water, sewer and power.) Plus many resort style amenities. Traditionally, RV owners would be the ones buying the titled lots but container homes are now competitively priced with park & destination trailers. Certainly many massive areas for savings. $2100 for countertops? Could prefab for a lot less than that. Maybe even 1/4 as much if you do the labor yourself (cutting and polishing). Also yea those window costs are insane, so in markets without hurricanes, the price would be 10 grand lower.
I read some years ago that shipping container homes are a scam and wasn't structurally soind for living in...has it gotten better and is it safe and worth it? I live in Florida and thinking strongly about investing
Why not invest in building the louvered pocket doors rather than buying complete? Tooling is a one time big cost that your company invests in, and materials/labor would be significantly less than buying prebuilt. Eventually you’d pay off the cost of machinery (not even expensive) and just turn profit from there while lowering cost to customer.

Bought property in 2019 to build container home on it, then the pandemic hit, everything gets shut down, prices go through the roof and now when everything is about opened up, the costs have doubled. I will just grow food on my lot and put a tent. That's about all I can do at this point.
I hear you, it’s been crushing us having to tell clients that got quotes months ago that prices are now more because they waited! We just got told our next order of glass is going to be 15% more and will be 14 weeks!
What about building with sip panels?. Insulation and walls all in one ☝️
I can explain more in detail but the voids are the issue and we try to stay away from any wood in the unit as much as possible so they are virtually lifetime structures
Hi I’m you’re new subscriber I just wanted to have an idea how much is your smaller size shipping container from California to Philippines??? Thank you…..
$6,500 for a new (not used) one I'm assuming. Is that correct?
Correct it was suppose to say new :)
@@ContainingLuxury thanks, I had asked a question on a prior video, was wondering if you had an answer: do you know if it's safe to weld steel to the outside of a shipping container, assuming that the INSIDE of that container has already been spray foamed? I'm concerned about the heat of welding igniting the spray foam.
@@thinkoutsidethecontainer Yes you can weld outside of the container while there is spray foam in the inside, cutting spray foam causes no issues!
Would a 20ft be around 23k?
Waiting for prices to deflate.
I am an artist and im glad I can purchase one from professional builders but I’d like to choose the interior walls and cladding ,,,do you have time to produce custom orders ?
We do not usually do custom orders but currently are doing a few, send us your info and we will see if you we can get her built for you! Just submit your info on ContainingLuxury.com and we will reach out!
Are these prices Canadian?
No USD.
Do you build and ship to Nc I am new at this, so glad I found your videos
Yes we do, email us at containingluxury.com
Great video! Just wondering: does the metal construction of a shipping container home interfere with cell phone service? Thanks.
Maybe if you have multiple stacked on top of each other. So far for us no issues! It also helps with the storefront class windows allowing signal come through.
@@ContainingLuxury Thank you -sounds good.
How much is the total labor cost?
Can you please tell me how much it costs today, 2024, please
Blake, in your opinion, do you think the housing market will crash based on the supply chain disruption? Is it better to just wait until prices go down to buy even a shipping container home?
Honestly I think the crash has already begun, I liquidated all my realestate to go full in on container developments and looking for investors to join us, they are the recession housing go to investment!
@@ContainingLuxury How are container homes good investments? Wouldn't their values go down as well?
@@Markous5122 I call it economy housing because they are inexpensive housing, in a good market they do great, in a bad market they do great, no one else is building homes in the 35-85k range!
@@ContainingLuxury Would love to hear more details about investment opportunities and your plans with it. Can you please share some information on this?
@@ContainingLuxury I agree. It seems 35-85k is now new vehicle range.
maybe you should have bought rubles before nato tried to expand again
How much to get 2 of these to Connecticut?
Well we will have to check shipping but we will for sure hook you up on 2! Email us at containingluxury@gmail.com or just hit containingluxury.com and submit your info and we will reach out this week!
Great video.. Your logo on your shirt looks like it's saying "Con" lol and why put TAIN in red? I don't get that logo design, but your videos are very informative and well done.
Because he is a con artist on these containers!
Hi Chris - feel free to come on over to West Palm for a factory tour anytime you like! Happy to show you our process, materials, and meet our crew!
@@ContainingLuxury Cool will do! I'm in Palm Beach, I certainly can see if you're legit or con artist! 😅 😁
Do you offer financing for 40ft container?
We do! up to 50K 10yr no early pay off
sorry no early pay off penalty
For 40 feet container you need about 120 pieces of metal stud to frame the walls and ceiling depending on the layout so 120 x $ 9 a piece $ 1080, you showing $ 625 and where is the labor cost?? Pleaseeee give people real numbers..
Let's go Brandon!!!!! I'll wait for the Trump price.
Why do you frame a shipping container that was built to last on ships in high seas thrown around at ship yards and carried by semis all over the world? I am confused.
insulation. and cutting windows/doors into the sides weakens the structure.
I will never pay that for 320 sq.ft. - $131/sq.ft. + labor = crazy
Crazy increase for sure! Boy am I glad I'm not building in North America.
where you located? cheaper there?
@@ContainingLuxury prices have definitely increased here too in Brazil. Wait times very similar. I'm just glad my Canadian dollars go further here
😘👍❤️
Only one thing to say LET'S GO BRANDON
6500? I can get one for 2k
Well this is supremely disappointing. If it were 2019 then I could afford this stuff. It seems like I am trying to catch and ever moving goal post as the years go by... Getting hard to stay motivated.
Well, remember all the material he uses is brand new. You may look for recycled goods. Please do not give up things EVENTUALLY will improve. We need to all have a realistic yet positive outlook of our future cuz how we see turning out, matters.
Agree with the comment below, we are commercial builders so we are using top of the line brand new items, you can get crafty and save a ton of money if you have the skills, or friends with skills that are willing to work for food :) us construction guys will do a lot for food!
@@ContainingLuxury Thank you guys very much for your replies. I'm going to hang in there.
Where are you located??
Stuart Florida but can ship most of anywhere
I got a team of Mexicans that can do that build in 2weeks for half the price.
im not paying 6500 for a container might as well just make it out of Brik and put container doors on the outside smh
Hahahahaha $42k, no labor ?
$85k for ONE finished?
Hahahaha. No. No. No.
Seriously what a rip off!
$13,500 on glass. 🤣
I'd rather save some money and use regular glass with wood or metal window shutters.
Or maybe not have the large glass at all. 😆
Who in the F He’s going to build a container home with all that extra BS. Give me a break
Seriously man, what a rip off!
Still have to buy the ground to put the container on.
So you are saying that for those of us who can't afford these stupid huge homes. And don't want to pay rent. We have no affordable option. Capitalism has officially killed humanity and I have zero hope.
Yea, this shipping container company is a ripoff
Rip off! Lmao, you might as well buy a modular home better equipped and better spaced and looks exactly like any house.
Hello. It's my dream to have 1 of these built. Can you send me contact number. I really like a four bedroom built
