    This is one of the best videos I saw on the subject. I agree with Kelly's comment that a wealth of online information is encouraging the interpreters to editorialize by simplifying the message, which is unacceptable, and I was glad to come across your video because it presents a much better, ethics-driven approach.

    Bravo! I'm an interpreter trainer and pushed for us to include pediatric interpreting in our introduction to medical interpreting curriculum. Yes, it is different, but everything you've said here is so true. I'm definitely going to share this video with my classes moving forward. While preparing the course, I was dismayed at many of the sources I was finding encouraging interpreters to simplify the message. Your explanation of why we shouldn't do this is SPOT on.

    I too, am including this video in my PHI-Professional Healthcare Interpreter class at Highline College. Thank you for highlighting the importance of accuracy and staying true to the original message. Don't conflate literacy or illiteracy with intelligence--another key point, and much appreciated. Keep making these great videos!
