    Thank you Professor Tsuruta,
I’m a Spanish-to-English community interpreter and am always searching for ways to improve. I found your presentation both educational and functional. I especially learned a lot from your list of 11 qualities of interpreters:
    1. fluency of delivery
    2. logical cohesion
    3. correct terminology
    4. pleasant voice
    5. correct grammar
    6. synchronicity
    7. sense consistency with original
    8. appropriate style
    9. live intonation
    10. completeness
    11. native accent
Thank you again, I will keep these in mind.

I am fluent in three languages, apart from my native Georgian, and I am quite good at translating books, documents etc. I've also tried consecutive interpretation, with moderate success, but when I tried the simultaneous interpretation once, a kind of panic attack happened to me, because it was very very unusual for me to talk and listen at the same time and that resulted in a complete fiasco. I realized it takes some practice and I plan to start practicing. How long does it take for a person like me to become a good interpreter? A year maybe? Or more?
    Thank you.

She stutters so muchI wonder how she can be an efective interpreter.

I'm sure she can still be effective. But, yes, that was distracting. It's funny because Obama also "stutters" when speaking, so I think it's a good match in this case!

I was hopipng to understand something. Impossible!
stuttering too much, and something that they call 'cantinflear' if someone knows Spanish here.

Bad filming - static - bad sound - you can't hear the audience, the speaker is difficult to follow because of stuttering and flat sound of voice.

    放送同時通訳、時々逐次通訳だそうですが、あまり英語がうまいとは思いませんでした。
