The original is more like a duel than a duet and they smile each time they get a good shot very often. Angelina says it is about the song not her. She smiles only at the end when she is pleased with her performance.
There is a recording of a rehersel when she is 6, singing and reading the lyrics in english at the same time. So she is very smart and knows how to touch our harts and souls. But her singing is super and every song goes in a box and is her. A lovely whitch she is, she puts a spell on us.

They launched her to the world at the FIFA Awards and a new album will be released soon (they say it will contain only originals) - by the end of the year everyone will know Angelina's greatness. She will be in demand everywhere, from TV all over the world, to fashion shows and many directors will want her voice in the soundtrack of their films. Despite her superpowers, enormous productivity and hard work, the stress may be too much even for Angelina.
The cool thing with her is she is already acclimated to much of it. She's practically starting professionally with a Best of Box Set , at 17. Plus engineers have her listed in the one take club. I think she's got it set to sing as she wants and not so much as most adults with mortgage, kids, addictions, etc do to compromise artistic integrity. That takes a lot of pressure off.

I bet she was thinking of that barefoot orphan girl she met years ago in the far east when she was 6 years old. The girl was weighing people on a bathroom scale to make some money to feed her siblings. Angelina was curious to know what she wanted to be when she grew up and she told her that she would like to become a doctor but couldn't see how it could happen. Besides giving the girl her favorite green shoes she told her to never give up on her dream, i.e., who knows what miracles can happen when you believe that it could happen. When the girl asked Angelina what her dream was, she told her she wanted to become a superstar and to sing for the world. The girl told Angelina that she would pray for her every day. Angelina went on to write a book about their encounter, Between Two Hearts, when she was 9 years old becoming Norway's youngest author. Her grandmother beautifully illustrated it. Angelina says she often thinks of that girl, which is also why she offered to sing at many televised fundraisers for homeless children. To date she has helped raise millions of euros of support. That is why she continues to sing barefoot, until all children have shoes and clothing.
In the movie, this song happened when Moses'mother is taking her baby boy to put in a basket and into the water. So tender and so sad having to do this to your baby so he wasn't killed. Angelina, just as you said, really gets the tenderness and sadness and yes, hope .. and miracles.

It's been a while since I last heard this one. Mainly because it's not one of my favorites. Reactions to it are relatively rare, and when I come across them, I often skip them. The song itself doesn't mean anything special to me (I'm sure I heard it when it first came out, but I never saw the movie or heard the soundtrack album), and I don't have any particular connection to the two artists who originally sang it (although I do own multiple CDs from each). AJs grandmother, who we know is so important to AJ's musical journey, is not only an artist, but also a published poet. I am certain that she would have been sure to tell AJ to look for the meaning behind the lyrics in the songs she sings and to try to know those meanings when singing a song and to convey those feelings to the listener.

As you usually do, Britt, you sensitively honed in on the message of the song that Angelina delivered and meant. I bet she was thinking of that barefoot orphan girl she met years ago in the far east when she was 6 years old. The girl was weighing people on a bathroom scale to make some money to feed her siblings. Angelina was curious to know what she wanted to be when she grew up and she told her that she would like to become a doctor but couldn't see how it could happen. Besides giving the girl her favorite green shoes she told her to never give up on her dream, i.e., who knows what miracles can happen when you believe that it could happen. When the girl asked Angelina what her dream was, she told her she wanted to become a superstar and to sing for the world. The girl told Angelina that she would pray for her every day. Angelina went on to write a book about their encounter, Between Two Hearts, when she was 9 years old becoming Norway's youngest author. Her grandmother beautifully illustrated it. Angelina says she often thinks of that girl, which is also why she offered to sing at many televised fundraisers for homeless children. To date she has helped raise millions of euros of support. That is why she continues to sing barefoot, until all children have shoes and clothing.

In the movie, this song happened when Moses'mother is taking her baby boy to put in a basket and into the water. So tender and so sad having to do this to your baby so he wasn't killed. Angelina, just as you said, really gets the tenderness and sadness and yes, hope .. and miracles.

It's been a while since I last heard this one. Mainly because it's not one of my favorites. Reactions to it are relatively rare, and when I come across them, I often skip them. The song itself doesn't mean anything special to me (I'm sure I heard it when it first came out, but I never saw the movie or heard the soundtrack album), and I don't have any particular connection to the two artists who originally sang it (although I do own multiple CDs from each). Here's my point: listening to Angelina's performance again just now, I am kind of amazed at how *expertly* she sang this. Holy crap! I had forgotten how good this was.😁
