Finally someone has said what all of us fans has been saying .billy says shazam to become captain marvel and he doesn't stay a weird acting kid .I never watched either movie just clips of him acting like a idiot and I'm a big fan of captain marvel.the filmation cartoon is better than these crappy new movies.great to see the real captain marvel again he was awsome and he hit the nail on the head

I couldn't agree more. They have taken a powerful popular character and made him a joke. And the fact that there was no wisdom when it came to figuring out his powers. I haven't seen the movies and I never will watch them
They were not. Fawcett Comics created the character. When it started to outsell Superman, National Comics (later DC Comics) sued them for copyright ifringement. DC licensed the characters from Fawcett but had to change the name because Marvel now owned the name. So technically, DC never owned the Captain Marvel name, they simply rented it for a while.
I agree very similar to what marvel did with the hulk in the last two avengers movies downplaying the character dc did the same thing with shazam downplaying him making him act more goofy like Jackson Bostwick said what happened to the wisdom of solomon ?
