Bumblebee's been my favorite Transformer since the Eighties, so this will be a Day One buy for me. I am INSANELY jealous that you got to not only transform it, but handle the prototype.
I’d kill for a Lego Grimlock or even a G1 starscream.
Sadly, knowing Lego's rule of making no military vehicles, we may not get many of the Decepticons :[

With all due respect, why is partsforming such a big issue to some?
I have a few transformers toys myself but I'm not really deep in the community, so I don't really get the dislike for partsforming when it's pretty much just needing to disconnect a row of bricks or tile.
It feels so minimal effort that I have to wonder if it's only an issue because other transformers toys do it a lot more or something lol
@@clockwork3494 Never really had a problem with partsforming, honestly.
Hell, there have been creative uses for partsforming over the years, and many fanmade solutions to it, such as makeshift weapons/shields.
Plus, if you think about it - Soundwave was a partsformer due to his shoulder cannon being made from one of his "batteries". Not to mention G1 Optimus was a partsformer because of his hands being detachable parts that you store in the cab/trailer.
I really dislike this set honestly..the proportions are wack both modes are wack it has a boring uninteresting transformation with tottally unnecessary parts forming and overall its not great.They shouldve really taken notes from the g1 bee aranoblis 98 made.not only does it have really good car and bot modes it also has 0 partsforming and has a very uninteresting transformation.I think the reason why this bee failed so horribly is bcz the designers think too much in the box and arent as innovative in transformation schemes like for example aranoblis,stsc,clickbricks all the lego tf legends.bcz they keep trying to replicate transformation schemes of pre existing toys they cant innovate and make better deaigns cuz as a lego transformers builder I can tell you most of the pre existing figure/toy transformations dont translate well to lego

Incredible that you build the car first and then transform it into the mech. That must be so satisfying. Also, love that they reused Prime's face piece and printed Bumble Bee's face onto it.
I almost wish they had included a second copy of the faceplate printed with the original Bumblebee toy's visor and ["mask"], but I'm sure the budget wouldn't have allowed for that.
The prototype head with the bananas for horns would be great for a Cliffjumper retheme of the set, skipped out on Prime as I wasn't to interested with it being G1, but I might get Bee as he's a personal favorite and the price point is low enough to be in my budget. Just gotta budget out for the titan Tidal Wave from Hasbro first next month lol.

Seems like they give them away to anyone with a lego review channel, some even with barely any views are apart of lan. Work harder and get on their radar like chris did.
the blanket reveals are great. a little dramatic but hey, is there any of us that lego doesn’t hit us right in the heart and mind! especially you chris and your enthusiasm and knowledge for lego needs to be shared even more. Heck, you should be running that company but one startup at a time and then together we’ll take on lego lol. i actually have been in talks with them but took a really intense job promotion as you know so in 2025 will be siting down with lego again and feel i can really help them, even though ironically they do at least make money now and made some great changes to their business model over the last decade or so but still room to grow!

I usually wait a long time to buy a Set, to save some money, even if I love it.
I got Optimus pretty much day one to recreate meme.
Took two Vans from LEGO City Sets I had close and made them into shoes for him.
"Nice Shoes!" "Thanks. They're Vans."
It was the first time a tweet of mine "blew up" which is probably 100% thanks to Samuel for retweeting and commenting on it.
This is AWESOME! I don't like BB all that much but I really like that Lego did the character so well it seems.
This literally has brought me so much joy, the fact that it’s ACTUALLY the REAL bumblebee and not a “bay-ized” version, just really, really, really makes me happy AND suprised me, I want this more than most actual transformer figures of bee, this is beautiful and bee actually has his face back💪👏👏👏

There aint no "real bee" though, he has been changed so much over the years. That's what's great about decade's long franchises, they don't have to stay static and stale, they can change over time. It's okay to love the G1 design, but some of us love the Bayformers design even more because it isn't so blocky, it's actually detailed and intricate.
Can we please get a Lego Sound wave with Laserbeak please we need a decepticon. Not to mention he's one of my favs. That said I still plan to get Bee since having another Lego transformer is cool.
Good one! I totally want showing my build to those people who are there, awing on a simple goood transformation what they do when see my Macross VF 25 f in minifigure scale what can do all 3 form an can stand on its own even not fully stable.

I got married about two weeks ago and my wife got me the Lego Optimus Prime as a wedding gift. Now we have to get Bumblebee! I’m just wondering if we will get a Megatron, and what alternate mode he will have.

This looks 100x more complex then Optimus I am so glad this colab is still alive and can’t wait till the next one
Understandable, but it looks like it's considerably less stable than Optimus (As noticeable when they moved the surface and Optimus stayed put with no problem, but Bee had to be saved from a fall). Optimus has the big advantage of having those really heavy legs and the friction rubbers. Bee's legs can't afford to have that much weight, and the feet are also doing a lot of heavy-lefting for cosmetics.
Yes, we now need a LEGO Decepticon and it should be G1 Megatron but in Tank mode!

im happy they are doing more lego transformers i bought the optimus day one and loved it and bumblebee who is one of my favorite characters in transformers media this is just amazing i hope the next one is either a Jazz, megatron or soundwave

Great video. The stock images didn't do this set justice. The face print is a win, and I guess the partsforming and gappy waist cannot be helped. There are many MOCs out there by fans, but to hv another officially licensed Lego x Transformers product is something we could only dream of growing up
I think ya could just leave it on. I’d prob make him a bit rounder but hey I’d rather have that over , yuck, partsforming. Besides, I think he looks more accurate that way

The prototype car looks so much better! Can’t hardly wait for the MOD community to figure out how to build it.
This isn't a bad set by any means, but I do feel they could've done better with the rear.
The rear not only feels super rushed, but just looks off in general with the tiny line of a rear window and that odd looking indent.
This set has many upsides, but funnily enough I think some of the prototypes nail it better than the official.
Legs definitely fare worse though, I could excuse Optimus not having knee joints but I really can't see why they wouldn't have been able to make it work with Bee.
Overall I think I'll hold off on buying this one until it comes on sale

I had omtimus, and while he was a good model, I think I'll prefer this set. I think what he said about building the car before yhe robot really shows, as I think the car looks a lot better than optimus did in truck mode

That shameless parts-forming with the “jetpack” is very disappointing but I am willing to accept it cuz one, at least it goes through more of a transformation to be a jetpack (already a step up from the mainline earthrise’s mold literally-just-a-the-back-of-a-car “shield”) and two, I think you could actually leave on the that part, I’d make him a bit dumpier but I wouldn’t mind because it is actually, in fact more accurate to the G1 toon model that way!
as a big fan of Gen1Transformers since childhood this is a must buy for me.
EDIT: one thing i would like to see in the review proper is both this and Optimus Prime side by side in vehicle form.

may i ask seems optimus have already released on the market a while ago and bee lego has been revealed, if adding knee joint may affect the stability of the model? im bit curious because all the lego sets of these two characters doesn't have knee articulation on their sets? thanks
They could have added a knee joint for Optimus. There's MOCs that allow you to add one. Bumblebee tho, the legs are too thin to add the kind of joint you need for it to be stable. The knee joint that the MOCs used for Optimus as well as other custom mechs of that size are 2 studs wide. If you look at Bumblebee's legs they're only 2 studs wide so the ball joint would be completely exposed and would look extremely ugly. Also there wouldn't be room for stabilizing parts needed because that join by itself will bend by itself with the kind of top heavy design the transformers have.
I have LEGO optimus prime but not sure if I should get LEGO bumblebee or not.

after rex defeated Syspocalypstar was in peace and harmony until was attack by a group of Villains from the Hasbroveres (Megatron, Queen Chrysalis, Cobra Commander, Miles Mayham and Cy Kill) lead by the brickster Emmett and the Syspocalypstar Citizens try their best to defend themselves but they were to powerful most of them are taken prisoners only Emmett, Lucy, Batman, Unikitty ,Benny,President Business,Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi,General Sweet Mayhem and MetalBeard manage escape until they were surrounded by Megatron and Queen Chrysalis all hope seems lost until a truck run over on Megatron and it was Revealed to be non other than Optimus Prime leader of the Autobots and he was not alone the Alicorn princess Twilight Sparkle, Duke The Gi joe Agent ,Matt Trakker leader of M.A.S.K. and Leader one leader of the guardians they told them come with them they promised gonna help them rescue the others

Idk watching the designer fumble around for several minutes to transform this really makes it lose some of its appeal in my opinion. I actually like the car version of bumblebee but the mech version of him is fairly lacking especially in those legs. Granted it’s impressive they’re able to make these work in an capacity but still
