I really like these fresh takes, I think the only things to make him more recognizable (which may be hard at this scale) would be to give him the hexagon around his eye under the dish, and to change out the two thrusters on his chest for a single thruster shaped like the elongated hexagon plate on his g1 chest
These videos are like Saturday morning cartoons for me lately. I love this series of original redesigns, and shockwave is no different. I think my favorite part of this is the legs and how they come together.
For a cold calculated robot, to me, he also has some H.G. Wells' "War of the Worlds" vibes to him! Specifically, the original Tripods look quite similar in a few ways, with the lights, saucer hat and spindly limbs. It helps that the Martians there were heartless too, so I quite like this take! I love your endless creativity on these new takes!
This is I think the most excited I’ve ever been for one of your videos solely based on the thumbnail. And wow this does not disappoint. Incredibly creative and fitting alt mode. Really cool transformation. Amazing colors. Incredibly unique robot mode
This is another amazing creation with a unique twist and I hope Megatron is a helicopter of some kind also with a unique twist. That’s just my prediction but whatever he does will be spectacular! I grew to love the Pizza Wheeljack and I’ll grow to love this too.
As a diehard Shockwave fan... this does NOT miss the mark! An amazing creative and fitting redisign cleverly combining homages to past incarnations with original ideas! Simply amazing. I hope more often new shows and toylines would be as creative as you are with your designs
Shockwave is my all-time favorite Transformer, and I would LOVE if this design became an official variant. I love the robot mode, he looks very War of the Worlds-y and I think it fits the character amazingly. I really like the G1 references and adaptations like the ear hoses and gun handle legs. I think the X-Wing-Enterprise-y ship mode looks great and fits well too. I love the colors too and referencing Animated is a win. I would love to see this design in the Shockwave multiverse and on my shelf of Shockwave figures. Basically this is one of the coolest Shockwave designs I’ve ever seen
Hmmmm, I have an idea. Someone saw Shockwave's shuttle mode investigating Earth for the Ark and Megatron, and when he zipped away near Lightspeed, they created an idea. And thus, the iconic Star Trek ship was born. Also I do find the shuttle and slimness interesting. He definitely looks like he's meant for the labs more than an enforcer.
I love the visual design here. It feels almost like he's a stark counterpoint to Cosmos. Both are space-buikt explorers, but Shockwave reads more as an "abduct and dissect" kind of UFO.
When i first saw the ship mode i immediately thought: oh this is gonna have four legs like TheAmazingSpino's Shockwave, then i saw the robot mode. Gives me a bit of Zaku vibes, mainly in the head. Very nicely done STSC
The legs are fantastic, it managea to split into the back or the ship while keeping so much articulation. I can see how people may not like the top though, just feels like its not doing enough or it may be the arms. Overall a fantastic build
de-attaching the ufo looking bit and like imagining as the space versions of those tiny submarines with the arms could be an interesting way to play with the figure
He reminds me of those transforming Zaku GunPlas. It's weird and out of the ordinary, but I love it anyway! This is the Oingo Boingo's Weird Science of Shockwave iterations, and I'm all for it
6: 08 Not to worry. His traditional form both robot and vehicle is brutally effective. He is a scientist, but it is not the noble pursuit of knowledge, but a more callus take, efficiency. I For one liked the bulky configuration better. It was so intimidating to see someone smart and strong. Especially without reservations on using those skills.
I judge shockwaves designs with four criteria: 1: is it purple? 2: Does it have a gun arm? 3: Does it have the mono eye? 4: Does it look cool?? This checks all the boxes so My brain has no problem associating this with shockwave, ( personally, I always preferred it when shockwave was more slender than bulky anyways) Fantastic job!
On account of cybertonians being able to change their alt modes, I think Aly mode is the place where you can get away the biggest changes. And yeah, his bot mode reads more "soundwave" than "shockwave" to me... but it 100% passes the vibe check.
I like the idea of interpreting his face as a single eye encased in a hood, instead of being on a black faceplate. I think the only thing I’d do is try to give him his horns. The tubes on the head are great, but I have a hard time seeing them as horns, and the spike on his head just makes me think of a German World War One helmet. All I’d do is make the head dome purple and try to add two head spikes instead of one. Everything else is great.
I absolutely adore this redesign man, for one I always love when artists really go all out to redesign a character while still keeping them recognizable, and on another note, I agree with u, Shockwave being a scientist needs to have a more lanky form, and I dont understand why almost every shockwave that we get is a giant beefcake, this is the reason why to me Animated Shockwave is peak cus he actually is very long and spindly, and evoces a mad scientist look a lot more, the alt mode is brilliant too, its so unique and I adore how u made the legs transform, I cant wait to see ur next redesigns
My only complaint is I feel like Shockwave needs his ears. Single eye and ears are some of the only constants through most Shockwaves and without it he comes off kinda like a 07 drone. Outside of that I think this design is pure fire.
Ah but I love him being a physically terrifying behemoth while also being a brilliant scientist. Whatever, that doesn’t stop this from being cool, and an infinitely better alt mode than what Earthspark gave him. (Like actually what was that supposed to be). And yeah the skinnier overall design reminds me of animated beyond just the color scheme
maybe to satisfy some Shockwave fans you could figure a way to make the fins that make up the leg also be able to shift into some kind of tank treads and kinda make it a triple changer, and the upper body and top of the spaceship part would perfectly resemble the turret of the tank mode.
I am one of those die-hard Shockwave fans and genuinely, the only major problem I have is the colors. The lavender is a little bit too light, and gives off a much softer vibe than he should ever give. I think the teal worked on Animated Shockwave because it constraster well with the darker colors, and wasn't overbearing. Other than that, it is really cool. The robot mode isn't my favorite, but I think I could get used to it if I saw it in motion.
I can see this version of shockwave as being maybe a clone of shockwave as a failsafe in case his “G1 body” gets destroyed kinda like how Rick has backup realities he can be resurrected in
This Shockwave feels more like the one that would time travel to ancient Cybertron and put experimental energon on other colonies to mess around with in the future than the actual one
His robot mode kinda reminds me of a gundam, and that leg transformation is perfect, in fact I might just “borrow” it. It’s not my favorite shockwave design, but it’s in the top 10.
I know it wasn't intentional but my first thought upon seeing the alt mode wasn't "evil enterprise" but research space station/satellite or orbital space laser. Both of which I think fit equally as well with Shockwave's character. Also the turquoise and lavender are immaculate colour choices.
I know shockwave is a scientist, but also he's an evil scientist and hella smart, he could just as easily build himself a bulky body. But I do love this alt mode, but I do wish it had a bigger canon, im so used to seeing one so I like the big science looking canon. But again I do like this and it fits the character alright

Alt mode works pretty damn well. I mean, among other things, the Enterprise has been a research vessel. More divisive I'd say is the color choice, but that's partially out of necessity I have to imagine
The altmode is really smart, and a good use of mass. But there's only really the gunhand and monoeye that tells me the bot mode is shockwave. Considering he usually has some big angular block in the center of his chest, that would have been nice to incorporate. And the cotton candy lavender and dark teal are an... interesting choice of color.
Your upload schedule is totally unbelievable! 😮 You keep pumping these out at such incredible pace and all of them are fantastic. Would take me months if not years to cobble up a single Lego Transformer that would barely hold up to scrutiny regardless 😅

Also when I started seeing you transform the nacelles I immediately though that those would become his legs and I was correct which was pretty cool.
