😂I laughed so hard when she said “wrong hole buddy”
Seems to be a common issue.
😧
Fun video and Linda is a great, fun co-host and upcoming outdoor TH-camr.
It’s a rare sight Rod not being at Best Western 😉
😂
Or a fancy cabin lol
@@samsmith7150 Yesssss
Rod w/ the midnight "look of terror"....priceless!
😜
Love this folks!
I would love to see some catch & cooks. Great video as always Rod
Thanks!
Roughing it with a heater and carbon monoxide alarm? 😅
I grew up on a ranch in western Alberta. Coyote is pronounced Kai--ute. 👍
This was a great vid.
Yeah that's roughing it for me. I used to camp and rough it etc up until my mid 20s, but now that I am close to my 50, I usually can't be bothered with that. 😅
Great vid Rod and a real beauty of a brookie congrates
Thanks 👍
Great video love ice fishin
Thanks!
Great video, this lake has been getting pounded this year. Still one of my favourite lakes around.
It's one of my favourites for both winter and spring in the past twenty years or so now. Abundance has experienced its ups and downs, good to see that it is reasonably productive for a couple of years now after some bad years.
@FishingwithRod
Yep same here been about 20 years of some very good days and some skunked days. I also hunted a lot in that area over the years,,,,that area has filled my belly so many times :-)..
So cool:) i’ve been waiting for this video:)
😃
Hard water glamping is the best… great video rod.
Thanks 👍
This was your best video. I laughed so hard too especially when you threw the bread
Thanks Michelle! Haha gotta have these laughs while fishing, all part of it. 🙂
That is a very big fish in that lake. Congrates
It's in the upper average for sure, but in twenty years of fishing it, it was not close to very big ones which I have seen. 🙂
20:33 “I can’t beat him this way” 😏
I’ve been having a good season ice camp fishing so far! It’s been a lot of fun. Was a little nerve wracking having the coyotes come around the tent solo 😅. As long as your warm and you’re eating warm stuff, it seems like it’s the key to a great time.
Yeah I saw that video with the coyotes, I was thinking about that when we heard the same that night haha...
@@FishingwithRod hahaha that’s awesome. It’s weird because you know it’s just coyotes and they want bother you.. but then you starting thinking, well, what if they do?! Especially when you’re by yourself like I was hahah
Now my dream is to catch a big brookie in my pj’s from my bed! That looked really fun😂🎣
Do it! 😂
I thought you was Taku from outdoor chef life. But nice video!
I’m the Taku from wish.com 😆 Thanks for watching.
Looks like a blast guys must get out and try this . Fishing and eating while in bed doesn’t get any better. Where are you guys at by the way.
Thanks! Super fun. We were at one of the lakes around Merritt that is stocked with brook trout.
Great video Rod. Is that Eskimo tent the insulated version?
Yep!
nice video Rod! What camara do you use to record under water?
Thanks. It’s a GoPro 5.
Next episode you should ice fish from a hot tub - that would be awesome! My greatest concern would be waking in the night to go pee and stepping into a hole. Great video. I really laughed a lot. You and my daughter should get a TV contract for an outdoor comedy show.
Netflix. 😂
Netflix and chill - on the ice.@@FishingwithRod
I did not need to read this 😭😭😭🤮
😂
Can you tell us which model Eskimo shelter you’re using?
Yep I sure can. I just bought it, it's 450XD.
What do you use for a carbon monoxide detector. I know the heater buddy is suppose to have a low oxygen detector in it but thinking about doing a overnight trip with the heater on I rather be safe that sorry. Could you send a link of what you have? Thanks!
This is the one that I use.

@@FishingwithRod awesome thank you! Great video!
Where did you get the fish bonkers??
I've had that for almost twenty years now, it was given to me from a reader on the website.
Coyotes yippin
What was the name of the fly you used
They were these tungsten jigs made by VMC.

Get some rattle reals for the over nights. Might save you a rod but the bells will wake you up.
Yeah for this particular trip, we knew these fish would not be likely to bite so didn't really bother. For our next planned overnight trip, we will be targeting species which bite at night so will be a lot more prepared.
Will that be for burbot Rod? They are quite the interesting fish@@FishingwithRod
Yep!
Looking forward to that episode!@@FishingwithRod
Can you fish over night in a tent in bc
Yes, that’s what we did in the video.
If you’re talking about night time closures, they apply to some water bodies, mainly rivers, so best to check the regulations of where you are fishing beforehand.
Is that his wife or taylor swift?
Taylor Swift.
Those didn't sound like coyotes truthfully very deep howl more like a wolf but I could be wrong maybe it was cause you were filming in a tent.
It was actually me outside scaring them ;)
😂
