  • Let's talk about the shed. Nope, not the place where you store the weed whacker. The weaving shed!
The shed is a critical element in any weaving project and it's important to know how your loom creates it. Check out episode 60 of A Handwoven Experience to find out more!

🙏🏾Thank you so much, I'm loving your videos and watching them all one-by-one as I sit knitting! Please could I ask, does the action of clearing a shed also work to separate "sticky" yarns, or will that still need to be done another way? Thanks so much again.

Great question! Yes, clearing the shed would definitely help with sticky yarns. If you still have trouble, maybe forward your fabric more often. A taller shed will work in your favor! Best of luck to you!!

I’m starting to put my loom together again after having to move it. I remember that previously I’d noticed that the space on the shed was much smaller than previously. Perhaps the cords that help to lift the shed were not tight enough or the cords on the treadles?

Hi Myrna! I'm excited that the loom is back together! That's fabulous!
The length of cord you use to connect the treadles to the lamms will influence the height of your shed space, to a point.
Sadly, I'm not so brilliant when it comes to all the mechanics of a loom. So I'm not sure what else to suggest, except watching the overall motion to see what other variables will make a difference.
I'm not sure I was much help, Myrna, but I wish you lots of luck putting everything back together!!
