  • Every weaver has experienced the frustration of not-so-straight weaving edges. Especially in the beginning, it seems like this mystical phenomena only the few and the experienced can achieve.
Well, I'm here to debunk that myth. In this week's episode of A Handwoven Experience, I'm walking you through 2 major elements that determine if you'll have straight weaving edges. Enjoy!

You're so sweet. Thanks. Almost finished with my first weaving project ever. A little wonky on the edges but much better than I expected. 😊

Hi, Chris! Just wanted to let you know I totally love the warp you are working on in this vid! Great colors and striping. Is that a rep weave you are doing? (You really didn't speak about the nature of the project but seemed to only be using it as a demo weaving single yarns for the vid. Again, love it, and thanks as always!

Hi Ryk! Thank you so much! Yes, the project on the loom is rep weave! I'm so glad you like it!

It sounds silly but if i switch treadles in the middle, i get confused. i'd need to know where the next pick will be before I'm done with the current one, and that sometimes challenges me, especially with complicated patterns. So i aspire to do it your way because i do think it's better, but releasing the treadles at the end works better for me for now. I continue to learn and grow. Thanks for sharing.

I totally understand! Go with the method that works the best for you! The goal is to just keep weaving! You've got this!
