Hiya Matto another great video mate. Hell of a workout on the paddles but oh the scenery. Gotta love the far north. Shame you didn’t get your Tuna but the new CanX camera adds another dimension to your videos. Looking forward to the next issue of your stunning nomadic adventures around the moth bro.
mean adventures again man thanks for sharing! That kingi at the end made my mouth water! (PS 21 elephant on the longline so far....slaying it down here chur!)
Shot bro. 21 elephant fish is mental! I know guys who've fished for two weeks str8 down south without seeing a single one! Keep those lines tight and the good times rolling🤙
Ehh good evening bro. That underwater footage is incredible, love it so much..its such a cool perspective, Nice kingy les go. The yota Toyota is just a beast, have an incredible week ahead.. hope you eventually managed to snatch up that yellow fin. I was visiting my adapted parents today looking at old photos and was buzzing out at the massive Hapuka's and yellow fins etc we'd caught when I was little. So I hope you get that big beast of a fish your seeking.. it'll come🌞. Happy fishing bro and safe travels..
Great content Matt! Feel bad for sending you to that reef but that's fishing I guess, you sure made up for it with some awesome footage and nice table fish in the end. Am looking forward to next week's video 😉 Thanks for the upload, how good is that underwater footage?
Hi Matt, love watching your videos... Request, I always struggle tying a shock leader, due to accident many years ago and loosing 3 middle fingers on my right hand, was trying to see how you tie yours in this video, you're too bloody fast though 😆 would it be possible that you could do a little video of how you do it, noticed that you were using like a thread bobbin... Cheers Karl K...
Hey mate thanks heaps. Hats off to you for still fishing with 3 missing digits! I tie both a pr knot and fg knot for my leaders, Briggsy sport fishing has a good tutorial but not sure it'd be easier with the missing fingers... Hope that helps, tight lines brotha
Just make sure you are taking all the precautions. I don’t have all the safety gear I would want to go out on my own yet so when I came out of the yak in the open ocean I was glad I was with others. It can happen so easily and get bad quick! Happy hunting in the yak!
just got onto your channel great to see someone young doing what they enjoy just a quick question on summer clothing apart form the edge top what pants do you use cheers
thanks man, I wear a pair of Gill Coastal trousers that are falling apart lol. (they're 4years old now). I'd recommend and form of waterproof long pants- keeps the sun off your legs and your butt dry.
sick a squid attacked the underwater camera. next time u should go back there and try deep water squiding haha so any JDs too. a shame none of them grabbed the slow jig. can't believe u didn't get a hook set at 22:19 so close.
Really enjoying your channel. I've been looking at your paddle - what type is it? It looks like it has no or very little offset from one side to the other - as in your not twisting it 90 degrees from side to side to reduce wind resistance as you paddle. Is this the case?
thanks man, my paddle is a really old Stealth paddle that i was given. its not offset as it allows for a more direct paddle stroke and avoids energy loss in twisting the blade between strokes (great without wind, not so great with wind). the paddle is slightly short for the width of my kayak but its still a great paddle. plan to upgrade it one day in the distant future when I'm able to finically. but it'll' do for now. tight lines out there
Hey bud, have sent an email to your TH-cam email regarding a recent experience with a kayak. Would love it if you have any free time one day if you could have a read would appreciate it ^^ Thanks mate, love your videos keep them coming!!!!
hey mate, thanks for sharing that story, the ocean knows no sympathy at times. scary stuff alright, just glad everyone is ok. I'm lucky enough to have been brought up around offshore sailors and have a background in yacht racing, it taught me a deep respect for the ocean and an understanding of how to read the weather - a skill i think every fisherman (especially kayakers) should learn. stay safe and there mate and tight lines!
Hey Me and my brother and dad love your videos we tell everyone about you and I love you content I have a fishing chanle JJGR_FISHINGNZ and I caught my frist King fish and you helped us fish and learn on how to fish so thank you!

Curious the avg pace of your yak when you're paddling. I'm around 5.5-7km/h with pedals depending on the current and wind.
just got onto your channel great to see someone young doing what they enjoy
just a quick question on summer clothing apart form the edge top what pants do you use
cheers

Matt, are you able to say what Bay that was you stayed at?
Just took my family to the South Island, the fuel price and grocery is so expensive there! At least you can get away from buying protein…😂

I have notice with a lot of fishing camera footage. Fish will strike the camera. If I ever get my hands on one. I’ll put a hook on it for sure
Hahah yup my thoughts exactly, after watching that footage I'm definitely putting Assist hooks on it next time!
Awesome
