This deck just carried me 7-0 BO3 matches in the Standard Metagame Event without a single sideboard, all thanks to you! Genius addition of Woe Strider to the aristocracy
Miguel I also have some pretty bad reflux things that get worse due to activity and positioning. One thing that I have found that has been surprisingly effective, especially when I'm at my computer, as a back brace. There are 90 different kinds of brace, but the one I use is pretty comfortable. It's supposed to be a generic 'posture helping' brace, but it really puts in the work to help keep me from leaning forward. It isn't annoying but it does make leaning forward less comfortable enough that I only wear it sometimes now and rarely fall back into the bad habit. Thanks again for the content, hope this helps.
Thanks a bunch for posting this Mogwai! Rakdos has been my favorite archetype to play for a long time and the inclusion of Woe Strider definitely gives the deck more consistency via that extra sac engine. Great content otherwise, your my favorite MTG Arena streamer to watch!

mono black and rakdos aristocrats are not only some of the most fun decks out there but also pretty budget at least in paper magic compared to ramp, esper and bant shannanigans
Are you kidding me? Birth of Meletis is such an amazing tempo card vs aggro decks, it's actually insane. Fetches you a land, leaves a body and mitigates damage with it's life gain. The tempo that card gains is absolutely amazing. Specially in orhzov Doom foretold decks
Nice gameplay as always, love the deck! Sorry to hear about your heartburn and esophagus troubles! I had something similar (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esophageal_achalasia) for a couple of years that gradually limited my ability to swallow food and gave me heartburn - it's horrible to deal with but it's something that can be limited and the symptoms reduced through a number of treatments! I really recommend asking your doctor about a "barium swallow" x-ray as that will usually show up any relevant issues and can point the doctor to a more specific diagnosis and treatments.

I had anax in this deck instead of rankle. You can if you have him, woe strider, mayham devil, and cavalier on the board, you can do a ton of damege by sacking all the satyrs.
Seeing you play against Birth of Meletis made me think it might have a spot against aggro decks, while helping you draw land so it's not a complete wash against control. Still, goes out of the deck against any kind of slow control, because at that point it's almost the same as drawing lands, but I've personally put Steel Walls in decks before, and this card summons one for me at the same time as drawing lands.
Love the deck bro. Aristocrats is a great theme. God I hate cat so much that in any black deck I have, I run four tyramet total just to neutralize it. Lol
Hey Mogwai. I also have acid reflux and I found the pill Rabeprazole to be wonderful. I used to get it at least once a week and now I barely ever have it as long as I take the pill every day. I'd recommend looking into it if you haven't already.

After watching that second game against Esper, I feel like Tibalt would be a really good sideboard option for this deck. Not at all sure what to cut though. Maybe a couple Dreadhorde Butcher? They're definitely good, but I'm not sure they're necessary.
Miguel, ask your doctor about Nexium. It's a ppi that works very well against acid reflux disease. I have been taking it for years, its the only thing that stops the acid reflux.

Hey Mogwai, Ive also got the same issue with Acid Reflux as you do, I don't know what medications you have tried, but I would suggest Nexium, one pill a day and I never have Acid Reflux ever again

I have the same problem (the reflux) since one year, so I feel you.. have you tried with proton-pump inhibitors? They are working for me, but you have to take attention to what you eat (especially proteins), if you don't have a very efficient bacterial flora in your intestine (maybe integrates with probiotics). Mine is not and i'm having problems with digestion, but it's worth doing a period for your esophagus not touching any acid.. Anyway, this archetype is my favorite too! Such a good deck!

I've been waiting for your new rakdos aristocrats deck since TBD was released and I am really surprised that you've only added woe strider. what are your thoughts on adding "blood aspirant" maybe "kroxa" and maybe "nightmare shepherd".
Imo aspirant and sheperd is a must. Not as full playsets but surely 2-3. Also if we have aspirant and priest then not include a couple of chandras to this list is juast dumb. This cards made for each other

Aspirant needs to pay AND tap to sacrifice, plus he starts out really tiny, Strider seems at least equivalent if not better. Rare vs uncommon fits those two. Chandra needs double red and protection from creatures, and as there aren't many key instant/sorceries in the deck, all she does is to provide a constant stream of fodder. She IS fun, I use her, but I can see, why Mogwai does without her. Shepherd is quite expensive for the deck, and exiling creatures, that you could easily bring back with Cavalier or just by themselves in case of cats and gutterbones has its drawbacks, too. It's a thought, but definitely not a must. Kroxa is a decent discard effect early on, on the other hand discard needs a critical mass to work, and the rest of the deck doesn't support that. Could be a good sidebard against slower midrange decks, but she competes with Strider for graveyard cards to escape.
The reason people run the wall saga is that standard control lists are hurting for a decent active play at 2 mana. It's like running hero of precinct 1 without needing to build your deck around it.

Bemused and distracted, the warrior settles for killing this troublesome if somewhat cute annoyance. The moment before his death blow connects, the cat runs into a nearby oven at the edge of the battlefield, and where his foe once stood, there only remains a pie. Taking a moment to collect himself after whatever the fuck just happened, he re-directs his attention to his ultimate nemesis, the mage. Mid-swing, however, a cat leaps... Repeat until the warrior's army is defeated. What weird fucking flavour this meta is 😅
I like this deck a lot, but I have a question: why do you play duress instead of drill bit? I feel like drill bit is just better since dealing 1 damage to use its spectacle cost is not a big deal in this deck.

I think The Akroan War is an absurdly strong card in this archetype. I got a lot of instant-scoops after playing this card and taking their cards of the board to sacrifice them with Priest/Strider/Oven etc. Unfortunately Rankle doesn't perform that well for me because unless you get something done with him on Turn 4 he seems rather underwhelming.

Why no Titan Kroxa in the deck? You could always use the body for sack in response to his ETB and late game it can come back for more.

The new THB red 2-drop that gets counters every time you sac (Blood Aspirant? Not sure) might be good in the deck, might be cool if you tried it out.
