I fixed several amps and also dynoed these and the guts of this amp look very good 👍 i think you shouldn’t be disappointed, it depends on your test signal, I guess you tested continuous at 40Hz? That’s the problem - these values are the hardest test for the amps power supply, so you get these “low” numbers. Todays amp manufacturers rate their amps continuously and max power which are burst signals with 1 kHz and 20ms which is the Eia standard. This represents the dynamic ability of an amp by using a test signal with higher crest factor which is like simulating music. Even pro audio amp manufacturers are rating like this today because they don’t use them to reproduce one low bass frequency but live music. That is not new even in the mid 90s Rockford stated that you don’t listen to resistors so they also rate their amps with the power cube to simulate phase shifts and they use the same 1kHz burst signal. I test the amps in several ways , continuous and dynamic that’s the only way to compare them to each other.
In my videos i Show also
My test sheets which test procedure leads to a specific wattage. I guess your amp has very good dynamic abilities 👌
Sorry for my English I’m in Germany 😅
Yes friend this amp does excellent on music dynamically! The rail capacitors are a give away that it’s going to be nice under music all you got to do is count them puppies 😊
I've been really happy since I started using non insulated ferrule end terminals for the majority of my direct wire connections. Not having to worry about that 1 rebel positive wire strand grounding out on something down the road gives me that extra piece of mind.
Ferrules are great.
If grabbing something in that price range, I like the Recoil RED1200.1
Clip light on the bass knob, similar power. It's still no JP, but it's also a lot less $
I tested the smaller one, good stuff.
Recoil will run circles around these.
I've been impressed with the recoil stuff for the money.
@@tjaprilgage Same here. Go take a listen to my Recoil build
The 2500 model was a beast but they sold them for less than they would like on Amazon so they have raised the price on the website now
I remember seeing flea market speakers and amps labeled as "PMPO" watts. I was told that meant "Promises More Power Out".
Send this amp to Big D. He'll either get 3k or blow it up. 😁
🤣
you mean Rick Diculous
@@DIYAudioGuy yes would like to see him max it out
Right if he’s not endorsed by the company he never has one good thing to say or show 🤔
@@chupamishuevos303 lol
Good review man. As you' said it's not bad for the money but you can technically do better for the money as well. I run only fosgate T series Amp. They say 1500 and do 2400. The constant power tech they have is hard to beat
That is a nice amp!
1 word: taramps
.
.
. the taramps smart 8000 costs much less than fosgate and puts out way more good clean power
@@WintedTindows1 Taramps are good. No argument there.. Definitely a a good value but I'll have to disagree on the clean compared to jl and rockford amps. They are as clean as they come
Ts Power is a NESA owned company.. so its Soundstream, power acoustik, Spl owned
I did not know that! I stumbled across the name NESA, but didn't make the connection to the other brands. Thanks for the information.
I have the 400w TS power amp, it has served me well over the years, it was only 60$, it sounds great, and I can run a nice 12 on it for hours on a stock battery.
This amplifier looks just like my Alpine MRP-M1000👍🏾
Now that you mention it, yes it does.
Looks like a big Alpine Vpower mono block i used to have.
How did I miss this vid ? Awesome video. 👍
lmfao that bass boost was tapped tf out.. lmfao
The confuguration of terminal is kinda reminiscent of my crossfire amp from the early 90's. Which might also be clagged from sitting around doing nothing. Dunno if its worth fixing.
I love my ts1.9000D
From my limited experience with amp guts, thguts here look VERY stout, really similar to much higher rms rated amps. I believe this one is capable of much more with revised power supply and addition of rail caps. 5-7k rms
I am also willing to conceded that my test bench does not have the juice to push it to its full potential. But it is not 6k amp.
In fact. Phillips head screws are designed to cam out when over torqued. That's why they were invented before we had torque wrenches. Want something TIGHT? Hex/star/square is the way to go.
Finnally someone who shows the output voltage...
Do you have a video going through what you're powering these amps with?
Did you make a video about your table saw? I need to upgrade mine. It's a cheapie Skil table saw. Works ok, but the table itself is not flat.
I never made a video on it.
So should i buy the 9000D?? Should move two 12s real good?
I don't get the inflated power ratings that some manufacturers still seem to do in order to secure a sale from the uninformed.
You'd think there would be some kind of regulatory agency that should monitor and enforce advertising practices for consumer electronics.
While this is a relatively inexpensive amp that appears to do 1400W RMS, the size of that monstrosity doesn't justify that cost...
There is an industry standard. Of course the only manufacturers that follow the standard were the ones that were already accurately rating their products.
Also, Keep in mind that maybe it can do more than 1400, I was pushing the upper limits of my setup.
Not much regulation and oversight involved with what are essentially toys. Maybe if more cars catch on fire the insurance companies will have the govt step in...
Great video! Hey. Check out slapz audio shock 3k id love to see a good dyno on it
I keep hearing that name, but I've never tried it out before. Maybe I need to try it.
@@DIYAudioGuy good cheap power
Nice just subscribed.
Really look closely at the transformers: sometimes there’s more than meets the eye!
Good one!
!!MAX POWER!!
I hear & see the clip in my head whenever I read "MAX POWER"
Got a link to your source for those Power bass power supplies?
amzn.to/3R8x6NL
There's a 9000D also for $149 lol
I'll let somebody with a bigger power supply battery Bank test that one.
It's now $189
Got it yesterday for 129
Still like old school lanzar high current 50hc
test the taramps big boss 3
I will definitely need to upgrade my test bench before I can test that thing.
Hello sir is down 4 sound really a good amp
Yes. I currently running a JP23 and it is great.
Will a 4000 watt push a 15 kicker cvr good?
That would be great if you wanted to push eight of them.
@DIYAudioGuy so yes lol
Most based remotes today come with a telephone style connection
Yes, but this was 3.5 mm on the other end.
This is a type 4 amp. Same as audiopipe. U can the exact same amp in a different case for $100.
Good to know.
MAXX POWAAAAAAR
Maxxpoweraudio.com
For 20 bucks more get the 9000d. Just bought one seems to at least put out more than 2000 rms
Typically these max or peak power ratings seem about 4x actual RMS.
Which in this case says 6000, puts out 1500. I bet the 9000 is the common 2000watt amplifier board that most china amps use.
If that's the case dynamically it should put out well over 2k which is hard to beat for 150$
What about the fuse situation on it though? That's kinda strange and feeeekin scary to me. I am about to buy a 9000d right now for cheap 1 ohm power to 4 12s. What you think go for it??
You might get to 3k if you were running 16v and a ridiculous low impedance 🤷. None of us are doing any of that so this was a totally legit real-world test of a cheap over exaggerated amp. 👍✊🤘🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
My nemesis audio 3km has Philips set screws too… and it’s not a cheap amp. Also sorry I just saw this vid… notifications really suck
I'm on the fence with the Phillips head set screws. You don't have to stick around for the right size Allen wrench, but they do cam out.
@@DIYAudioGuy im totally against it. Will be using the harbor freight set screw assortment set to replace them. Half are already rounded out. 🤡
@@westreadwell9675 that's all I need to know to make up my mind.
It's like watts in kilometers per hour instead of watts in miles per hour 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Throw more volts at it
But the internals look so beefy man what is your power source ? I’ve only been following you for a few months so I’m not up to speed or if you mentioned it in the video as well it slipped by me. It’s possible bottlenekcing due to too high of an amp draw and it limits the current output ? Have you seen higher numbers from other amps tested ?
I definitely have a bottleneck. th-cam.com/video/48arrcKeU1E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=95olqpYGShwOfoGE
I bet this is your standard 1500watt china board found in Skar, CT sounds, Audiopipe. It sure does look like it which if the case it does 1500ish cert/uncert and close to 2k dynamically which is a deal for 129$
In eastern Europe we vill acquire old velding machine that can deliver DC 200A min. and rewire secundar to 14V.
@@mujopasuljic6471 what never thought about pulling something off like that !!! That’s so smart 😃
@@DIYAudioGuy oh shit I see what you did there!! 😂 I think it’s time to call the city pull a 200 amp dedicated power line to the garage…….you’ll even have even headroom to power a bunch of high pressure sodium grow lamps in case making future amp dyno videos fail you then your prepared for a new hobby 😉🤣
You should dyno the TS Power 9000
I will need to fix the bottle neck on my test bench first. This one stretched me to the limit.
Just bought it
That's a decent deal for a 1200wRMS amp.
Yes, not sure why brands with a decent value cannot provide an accurate power rating.
Hiw efficient is the amp
I'm not set up to a misery efficiency. But this thing's not terribly efficient or else I would have been able to get a few more watts out of it when I brought it up to clipping.
I blame PYRAMID and BOSS
Hi Fargo 😂
Thank god I saw this review before I laid down some cash for this beaut....... hehe
From a $/watt standpoint it is not bad. I am a little bummed that it was to much for my test bench so we don't know for sure how much it can do.
Imo this review should make you wanna buy it more. It's got big input/outputs, metal adjustments and put out respectable power for 129$
They got a 9000 for $140 now. So it’s prolly 1500 at 1ohm maybe
Yep, seems to be a good value, just wish they would not slap that big BS number on the side of the box.
@@DIYAudioGuy yes you’re correct if they rated the 6000 as a 1200 and the 9000 as a 1500 that would be very modest and people would buy more products that eat. If someone needs 6000 or 9000 watts and picks this amp, they’re going to send it back or toss it to the side and never use the brand again. Where as if you need 1200 and that’s what you get for the price, I’d the amp last as good as it looks and performs in that rms range, than that’s a return customer all day long!
@gsxroyce2506 well said. I am a perfect example. Only need 1200 to wreck the seals on my car lol
Wow, I cannot believe that the blaupunkt 5000 is more powerful than this and cheaper.
Is it though??
sad to see i learned rms is true power as a teen and people in 30's still buying these kind of ams thinking MAX POWER is the rms because they dont know how to do research.
The guy buying the amp has a smart phone is in hand. 10 minutes of research and he could cut through the BS.
It looked really well built. Its just power hungry. Hell skar amps are also. I'd like to see this on a 350 amp alt, it seems counter intuitive to run a $130 amp on a $500 alt but hey
I personally would buy my Taramps MD 1200.1 again over this amp for the same price. It has more power at 2 ohms and 1 ohm and is rated for the 1200 at 12.6v
Right, this is not a bad amp, and it does generate a lot of power for the money, but you can find cheaper and better.
Basically cheaper than buying the ct sounds version of this amp, this amp is the clone of the ct1500.1 but cheape... All the same build houses in China just little differences here and there like how the bass remote is 3.5mm instead of both ends being phone jacks like the ct sounds version but all the same guts
So, does the CT sounds amp make 1500 watts?
Yes I believe ct sounds has it on their channel run Dyno test
I believe you are exactly correct.
The same board as Skar, CT, Audiopipe and few other 1500s. They all make similar power. The larger version TS9000.1 is surely the common 2000w board.
@@BDauto86 what is the footprint on those? This one is huge.
@@DIYAudioGuy
In order of overall mass, the CT-1500D is the smallest of the 4, followed by Skar's Marine 1500DM, Skar's Non-Marine 1500D, then Audiopipe.
For scope, that's going from 14.63x5.63x2.19 *to* 17x8.5x4
maxx power.....
6000 watts max power is useless. I’ll never buy a product that doesn’t advertise their rms rating
Yep.
MAX POWER🤣🤣🤣
Want some free lithium ion cells to help with your amp dyno? Made the offer a year ago...
Shoot me an email and we can talk about the details.
I do!! IL make a video
Never said how much it cost
I have found that the prices on Amazon update almost on a daily basis so it's almost futile to say what they're charging for it. I paid $130.
Thanks@@DIYAudioGuy
Wow
Garbage amp. Correct when you say you'd think companies would stop b.s the power rating mnowing we test them and put it on front street so people dont get rippwd off
😮that wattage for 129$ is nuts you crazy dude! I got the 9000 for that too
Lol wonder why they cant give you accurate rms power.Because people believe it does 6k watts.most americans arent too awfully bright.😂
Alphasonik benumbed series is the same propaganda
Did the boards look similar? Is it the same amp?
The Alphasonik looks bigger and more internal than the one that you examples.
generic class d board early 90s design
Uh no. There were no amps like this in the "early 90's". In fact there were no class D amps available in the early 90's. This amp looks like something from about 8-10 years ago.
thats a load of crap it is what i said it is and explain the thousands of class d amps made with this exact design in the 90s@@msh6865
nope noone made a generic class d amp in the 90s with a tl494 on the driver card thats as generic as can be and used by hifonics mb quart massive audiopipe and everyone else who buys china amps and puts there name on them
its a pyle of rubbish one could say and that design is from like 1992
garbage
Still good power. Definitely a winner @ $130.
Right.
@bigdwiz. Will have the power
