@@JiveDadson Robin has done that before, played bass drum with a kick pedal sitting down and played washboard at the time time. The logical reason is that washboard is a lot more portable than hauling any sized bass drum or percussion kit to the street gig and back. Especially on a protest gig like this where they were most likely to be kicked off the street, which did happen that day. City won't open Royal street to musicians anymore even though the no musicians order was supposed to be a temporary ordinance in 2019 because Hard Rock Hotel had collapsed, etc. the 1971 original ordinance is law and all musicians are fighting it tooth and nail. Politicians and rich influential people, as usual, have their head square up a bodily orifice in the anterior region of the human anatomy.😂

After working for many years in local government (not NO) I can say that politicians rarely consider art, heart, or a city's overall wellbeing in transportation decisions. All too often they only hear the voices of traffic engineers whose goal is to move people from A to B as quickly as possible....... in their motor vehicles.

Yes, in fact the police incident was during the last tune of the day. They had announced it was the last one before they played so the policeman didn't influence the decision. They played two sets and I captured all but one tune (camera malfunction.)
Music on Royal street is the reason I have visited NO every few years. I see the band sitting in a quite different configuration and an orange cone. Is this part of the change by the city in allowing street music again?
The orange cones designated a no parking zone. The band (and others) played that day as a protest because the city is ignoring their own ordinance designating Royal Street as a pedestrian mall. it is sometimes very tough to figure out which time the song is in based on the leaders foot taps, as an old brass player, your clarinet player in great, sorry the gut with the old national does not get more solos
