  • Vincent van Gogh lived in Auvers-sur-Oise from 20 May 1890 until his death on 29 July of the same year. He was tremendously productive in these months and made several of his most renowned masterpieces, including 'Wheatfield with Crows' and 'Tree Roots'.
In the anniversary year of 2023, the Van Gogh Museum and Musée d’Orsay are organizing a major exhibition about the final months of Vincent van Gogh’s life, which he spent in the French village of Auvers-sur-Oise. The exhibition 'Van Gogh in Auvers. His Final Months' is on view from 12 May until 3 September 2023.

I saw this exhibition at the Musee d'Orsay a little over a week ago during a once-in-a-lifetime visit to Paris. To say that I was stunned and moved by this exhibition is an understatement, and it was clear that the people around me felt the same way. I have been regretting that I did not purchase the French exhibition catalogue at the Musee d'Orsay - until today when I found that your museum had published an exhibition catalogue, available in English, on Amazon. Today, I also found this wonderful video. Thank you so very much to the staff at the Van Gogh Museum and the Musee d'Orsay for all of this!

In the final part, the music accelerates like the end of this great painter's life.

And to think that he was probably in so much pain during this period but created such beauty. That is the beauty of Vincent. He always saw the beauty outside of his troubled mind. ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for posting this. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼I hope one day to be able to visit in person.

Was here last week and loved it! Honored to have seen his last painting: Tree Roots. Today I went to the Cypress Exhibit at The Met in NY and MOMA lent them Starry Night. I loved the beautiful colors in the exhibit, yellows, blues and pastel green. Just gorgeous and the brush strokes!!!

Dit is een prachtige ervaring voor degenen onder ons die het zich niet kunnen veroorloven om Nederland te bezoeken om dit met eigen ogen te zien. Bedankt voor het maken van deze video.

I can't thank you enough for this video. A big fan from Mumbai, India. I visited the museum in June, but since i only got a late slot I was unable to see the exhibition fully. Felt bad to miss it, but now feel better that i caught a glimpse here. The music score truly is a perfect backdrop to your video.

Je ne me lasse pas de ses peintures qui touchent l'âme au plus profond et je suis toujours aussi émue comme le jour où j'ai pu le découvrir lors de la grande exposition à Amsterdam fin années 80. ❤

Never really appreciated any art or artist except for perhaps some Psychedelic art from albums. Then I went to special exhibition and there were Van Gogh paintings. I literally knew nothing about Van Gogh other than he cut his ear off etc...
When I saw the paintings I broke down in tears...to this day I can not explain it. It sounds cheezy but it's true. I never thought that looking at a painting could be such a profound experience.
One day I'm going to make it to Amsterdam and the museum. Thank you for all the wonderful videos your museum has put out...

You may get the same experience viewing the live performance videos of Lara Fabian. Born in Belgium, Lara is fluent in Italian, French, English, Spanish and also speaks some Flemish. There are multiple performances of Je Suis Malade, Adagio, I Am A-Wa by Lara at many ages during her long career. Each displays Lara's excellent vocal technique. But, more importantly is the emotional journey she brings to you.

beautiful. I am not art expert but I saw a different Van Gough exhibition a few years ago, i cant remember what period. But you can immediately tell this exhibition is much more sad.

Beautiful beyond belief. Thank you. I'm overwhelmed....again. I can't wait to see all the content from the Museum. I have never seen most of these before. I have 4 Van Gogh art books and I feel so stupid that I didn't know there was so much more.....
