This was a good video! I think a day-night cycle would be good, potentially more unique compared to other platformers... I think Wario Land... 2, maybe, had day and night versions of its many stages, but you triggered the day/night cycle through the world map, not in the existing level. But, I think you could do some really really cool things with an in-level transition. Night time enemies and power ups spawning, interactions between remaining daytime enemies and the new, possibly more dangerous/territorial night time enemies. Maybe enemies usually found only in caves could make an appearance, maybe with different behaviors. Unrelated, I really liked the extended stage! It's more and more starting to.look like a real, playable Mario level.
