  • This video is a step by step guide on how to disassemble and reassemble a Sig Sauer P320 M17. I wanted to make it as simple as I possible. So that someone who knows close to nothing could follow along while also teach someone who just picked this firearm up the steps.
    I apologies for the horrible editing in advanced. I just got out of college and looking to start uploading videos and working on the quality as I go. if you want to see anything in the future let me know and I will get right on it.
    Thank you all for the support!

      @@dpoutdoors4702 I absolutely love this gun, and not only do I use it for concealed carry, but also take it to the range every chance I get (since 9mm cartridges are more available and cheaper). but taking it apart for cleaning and lubrication is extremely easy to do, and just as easy when putting it back together

    Any specific oil you use for the PVT coating on the slide? I just got the civilian M17. They warn about using specific solvents & oils, but I can’t find much info about this and there isn’t much in the manual. Any resources would be great. Currently using the G96 all in one and skipping any dedicated solvents (with no issues).

      Militec-1! I have been using CPL for the cleaner but lately I have been using M-Pro 7. After the cleaner I use a small amount of the militec-1 metal conditioner just in the high friction areas. some of my buddies are in the military and are using militec-1 on their weapons. I'm sure the G96 will continue to do a good job though. Hope this helps!

    • @dpoutdoors4702
      @dpoutdoors4702  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the compliment! I paid $250 at a gun show about a year ago. He purchased it, then decided he didn't want a sight. It is my first red dot on a pistol and I couldn't be happier with it. my buddy got a different brand and has had issues with it not setting right on his M17

    • @EasyGeezy
      @EasyGeezy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      DPoutdoors holy crap! $250 a near $600 sight, that’s insane, Wish I was as lucky as you! I found through research that in the making of the specs for it that sig purposely made the slide to basically only fit the delta point. I’m hoping someone comes out with a cheaper variation that will actually conform, but hey Thanks again for the knowledge of this I’ll be looking back at it when I disassemble my M17

    • @dpoutdoors4702
      @dpoutdoors4702  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@EasyGeezy I know right! I wasn't planning on getting the delta point, however when I cam across a deal like that I couldn't pass it up! I know you can sometimes find deals on ebay for them. Sig is supposed to be coming out with a sight just for this gun but I haven't seen anything yet. I know a few guys who have gotten the Romeo 1 to "fit" on there. It's just not as solid of a fit though. wouldn't recommend personally.

      @@dpoutdoors4702 yeah I will. I assume it is whatever lube they use at the Sig factory because it must have just been built considering everyone is buying up everything out there due to the covid-19 situation. It must be newer than usual.

    • @craiglaw7578
      @craiglaw7578 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That “gunk” is actually gun grease! Most gun factories use it. It’s outstanding lubricant for hot or fast moving parts …like slides. Check out SigGuy on TH-cam if you’re interested!

    You didnt take out the striker assembly or the extractor? Mine gets caked with carbon after couole hundred rds. Just take a small allen n push down pn the black button on the back n slide down the rear plate n then pull out the striker wipe it dry n put it back in.

    • @dpoutdoors4702
      @dpoutdoors4702  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I did not. Sig Sauer has a lifetime warranty on their firearms. it says in your manual "The recoil spring and guide assembly is not to be disassembled." doing so would void any/all warranties. All the little parts inside the assembly are not sold separately by Sig Sauer. If the striker or extractor cause any malfunctions (which they shouldn't if maintained properly) I'll send it is for free repair for the life of my gun.

    Why does the barrel look like it’s uneven

    • @dpoutdoors4702
      @dpoutdoors4702  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm assuming you are talking about when the slide is back and it looks like the barrel is pointing up?
      That's due to the breech area. If you look at the black part in the middle of the slide (top of the gun) You can kind of see in the video, but it is sloped down towards the muzzle. when the slide goes back, it rests on that slope pointing it up.
      If you are talking about another point let me know and I will see about that. Thanks for the question!
