  • Concerns are growing over the fate of hundreds of patients who are still at the al-Shifa hospital in Gaza city, as doctors struggle to keep them alive with no power - they warn that dozens of premature babies could die.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News...)
And as the north of Gaza remains under siege, thousands continue to flee south by any means possible.
Warning: This report contains very distressing scenes.

@Lucy-jz7sg I don’t like Bibi and his gov but HAMAS was elected by Gazans so they got exactly what they wanted. PA is just another HAMAS, lowly cowards. I think Bibi wanted to go to war, Israel was divided (just like Putin) started a war when his ratings were low. Bibi must have wanted to get his popularity back but this war won’t help to keep him in power.

The Gazans chose a genocidal terrorist organization, Hamas in the 2007 elections. They let Hamas establish terrorist headquarters with weapons, missiles, tunnels in hospitals, UN buildings, gardens, schools and mosques - they brought it on themselves.

Hamas took a young German woman in her early 20’s hostage as one of the many foreign people they kidnapped. She was paraded half naked through the streets of Gaza and people cheered and celebrated. Eventually they hit her unconscious body to hard her legs got twisted in a very crooked way. She ended up being beheaded. It’s unknown wether Hamas or civilians did the final touch of her murder.

Not that it will compensate for all the Jews thrown away from Arab countries, but at least it will give a semble of fairness… Oh I remember now, the Jordanians did take some “Palestinians” years ago, but they didn’t behave do they killed them on black September. What a bunch of hypocrites.

@Lucy-jz7sg Where'd you get the quote from? What's the document that quote is originally from?
The quote is only stating what is typical politics. What's your point?
Is the last line you added your actual point?
Let's see, you wrote "Who cares about versions of history when genocide is a reality?"
So are you talking about the Hamas founding documents where they state Holy War (Jihad) against Israel clearly stating that "Islam will obliterate it." ? Yes, Hamas is indeed a genocidal organization. They do clearly state this in their founding documents.
And yes, the hatred of Jews goes back to the 7th Century and Hamas was harnessing that hate.
Or, are you referring to the laws Hamas imposed on Gaza? Those are typical Sharia Islamic Law. It's only genocidal to women and girls. Women are kept pregnant and confined to domestic duties and care-taking. Typical of the 8th Century beliefs.
Or are you referring to FGM?
Or the wife beating that's rampant in Gaza? Or Honor Killings? I mean, I realize that the girls and women who are raped are forced to stay silent, because a woman speaking is considered only half the value of a man in Gaza. So yes, it is genocidal how the women who are sexually abused or raped are treated. And if she tells anyone she has been raped or sexually abused, since her testimony is only half that of a man, she will be put to death unless she can find 8 witnesses. Is that what you mean by genocide?
We do know that phone calls to the anonymous hotline that was set up for victims of sexual violence have been staggering, but usually her family won't find out unless she breaks down and tells someone in her family. Maybe they found the phone # on her phone? I can't explain all the honor killings and how the family finds out, but the girls and women are always blamed under the Gaza system because they are considered to have said or done something that caused the man to do it. The Honor Killings are horrendous, I agree, but usually the man is never prosecuted.
Or are you talking about the forced marriages where the rape victim is forced to marry her rapist? That's done to "preserve her honor." Actually, to preserve the family's honor, but I don't consider that such an arrangement is helpful to anyone. It's traditional though.
Or maybe you're talking about the right of the man to divorce his wife by saying "I divorce you" 3 times, and she doesn't even have to hear it? Yes, that is the law in Gaza. And no women don't have the same rights. And yes, her husband can have up to 4 wives at one time, and she has no choice when he brings home a new bride. Most of the time it's because she has gotten old, though. That's also tradition. He can simply divorce the old wife and get a new one. So many of the divorced women are out on the streets and constantly harassed because without documents showing that a male relative or husband has given her permission to be out she will get heavy fines she can't pay. That I agree is also genocidal, and explains the terrible destitution of divorced women in Gaza. I realize the suicide rate is very high and the Hamas government has been said to be the reason, as so many things are labeled as illegal, and this has made life very difficult for any kind of artist in Gaza.
Anyway, thank you for thinking of the people and how they have been forced to endure laws that are terribly cruel, especially to women and girls, starting with the segregated schools.

    FACT:
    1. Israel is more important to Saudi Arabia than the Palestinian territories, Saudi Arabia has an unofficial alliance with Israel against Iran, now that may change because of this war, but right now it has not changed. Let's remember the number one ally in the middle east for the US, is Saudi Arabia, then it's Israel.
    2. Egypt ever since the Yum Kippur war, and getting the Saini Peninsula back via negotiations and a peace deal which includes Egypt being Israel's little stooge, basically when Israel order's Egypt to close the border, Egypt responds with "Yes sir, is there anything else you need from us"
    3. Syria is a mess, they got their own problems with their ongoing civil war.
    4. Lebanon is in Economic disaster zone, so they got their own problems and they certainly don't want Hezbollah to drag Lebanon in this war.
    5. Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and UAE are countries that are completely useless because they literarily outsource their own labor to foreigners, they are all rich spoiled brats flush with oil money.
    6. Iran is the only state that has it's own weapons industrial complex, and the only ones that can project power across the middle east, however they did not sanction this war that Hamas started, and it shows. Their so called "axis of resistance" in which I will drop "of resistance" because let's be honest the terror network that Iran created via their IRGC is an evil network. The "axis" is not strong enough to take one Israel, and Israel has enough power to keep the "axis" away:
    a. Hezbollah - this is the most dangerous non-state military that has taken, and is taking action against Israel, but so far it has been limited, and they also remember how they got crushed in 2006, because if they do an all out attack, both Hezbollah and Lebanon (see point number 4) will suffer
    b. Huthis - They are way too far away, basically the Huthis, run Yemen and that is it, the few missiles that they launch are shot down, and basically it is just an annoyance.
    c. Syria based militias helping the Assad regime - well they are still busy in Syria in the ongoing civil war see point 3.
    d. Iraq militias, are too far away and again they got internal Iraqi politics to deal with, so no help their.
    e. The only way the axis might end up being a credible threat is if Iran launches an all out war, and coordinates the "axis" as one to defeat Israel, however that is when the US will step in and END Iran as we know it, and re-install the old monarchy, and that is why Iran will not do anything because they don't want their unpopular regime to end.
    In Conclusion:
If Hamas actually cares about Palestinians (which they don't, by their own admission), they would realize that their situation is hopeless and help from Arab countries who also get their weapons from the US, are not going to come to their aid. The fate of Palestine lies in Washington not in Riadh, and certainly not in the UN. The US tried to bring a permanent peace multiple times, and to be fair, both sides at different times refused it, however the loosing side should not refuse a solution, ever. Palestinians must change strategies and do peaceful resistance only, and capture the moral high ground again, because right now Hamas has taken it away on behalf of the Palestinian people.

Very intelligent analysis and I agree with everything you said but one point, that Israel has refused peace several times, that is simply not true. I can name so many occasions when Israel reached out to its neighbors and was willing to sacrifice and make large concessions, it was always in the end rejected by the Arabs.and you should know that, because your analysis is thoughtful and sharp

I Some quotes from a previous Israeli defense minister:
"What cause have we to complain about their fierce hatred to us? For eight years now, they sit in their refugee camps in Gaza, and before their eyes we turn into our homestead the land and villages in which they and their forefathers have lived."
Moshe Dayan 1956, chief of Israeli defence forces and later Israels defence minister, another quote of his:
"We came to this country which was already populated by Arabs, and we are establishing a Hebrew, that is a Jewish state here. In considerable areas of the country we bought lands from the Arabs. Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you, because these geography books no longer exist; not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahalal arose in the place of Mahalul, Gevat - in the place of Jibta, Sarid - in the place of Haneifs and Kefar Yehoshua - in the place of Tell Shaman. There is no one place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population."
From an address given to Technion University students (19 March 1969), a transcription of which appeared in Ha'aretz (4 April 1969), quoted in The Question of Palestine (1980) by Edward Said, p. 14

Like dirt, constantly bulldozing their houses and stealing their land and shooting them if they get in the way. Pushing them into one of the most densely populated areas on earth. I wasn't in the least bit surprised they had an uprising. I don't agree with that, but Israel's response was far worse as over 10 times as many Palestinians killed in their typical overkill tactics

They have been saying for years that there is an underground bunker under Al Shifa yet they never had any proof for it.
None of the staff have ever seen anything in the hospital and people have looked underneath and found nothing.
Israel has made several incursions into Gaza during that time where they could have gone in and looked for some evidence of an underground bunker without bombing the place and they have never done that!

Ever asked yourself why they are so angry? .....
Because for 75 years Israel has treated the Palestinians like the way the Nazis treated the Jews.
