    For all the naysayers; I own a 2005 Mazda3 and had my car Krowned the day I bought her new. I've had her Krowned religiously every year since. If anyone knows about the first generation Mazda 3, they were rust buckets, and it is rare to find one rust-less now. Well my 3 is basically rust free and daily driven for 14.5 years. Big thumbs up to Krown. Oh and I live in Toronto where they use brine and salt like there's no tomorrow.

      @parkerbohnn -I don't see what that has to do with rustproofing your car whatsoever, and truthfully find it disgustingly racist. Be careful what you say online cause it may come back to bite you.

      @@Flagrum3 It means what it means. I'm fourth generation Canadian on both sides of my family the last of the last of the true bonafide Canadians. It means having to drive hundreds of miles to a white city to get your car rust sprayed or hiring someone white to do it for you.

    The video is intented to show how the Krown product will penetrate and protect the inside of the wool as well as the outside. The product is always "creeping" and works it's way into cracks and crevices (in this case the crevices are the inside of the steel wool).
    Krown shop in Atlantic Canada has an example of this test set-up in their waiting room...it's been there since 1996 with no corrosion.

      by submerging the steel wool, of course the inside gets protected, the Krown is applied directly to it - this does not demonstrate "creap". A better demonstration would be to spray the steelwool, rather than submersing it.

    I drive my car in a state that uses road-salt. while driving, my car is sprayed (1 - 70 mph) with salt water. please repeat this test and spray each (treated and nontreated) steel wool pad with salt water. we look forward to those test results.

      Except dumb dumb the rust actually occurs mostly in the Spring and Summer. Which is why you get your car rust proofed ideally from late March to early May. All the salt gets washed off and the product gets applied, though I do a self touch up right before Winter myself. Also you'd think it gets washed off but unless you use high pressure (ie car wash or pressure washer) since oil is hydrophobic it repels the water that splashes up at highway speeds. Believe me I had the same thought as you initially "won't it wash off driving on the highway in the rain?" but it stays put. My car looks like it it covered in a massive oil leak everywhere underneath. It's filthy. But... it's better than rust.

    Your Krown treated steel wool pad absorbed approx 100mL of Krown oil before you put it into that water tank. 100mL!!! That's an oil sponge! There was no salt or other corrosive added to the water and no agitation of the water (air bubbler). This is a poor demonstration of your product. Your product is sprayed to the underside of the vehicle, where it gets splashed and blasted with corrosive salty, dirty, grimy water and slush from puddles. That is what you should be testing. The reason that it initially floated was because oil floats on water, until enough oil left the steel wool pad for it to sink. You can see you have a few millimeters thick oil film floating on the water surface.
    I'm might try your same test with dipping steel wool pads in various cooking oils, baby oil (mineral oil) and linseed oil. How do you think they will do with your "steel wool test"?

      Agreed ,The test is cute but hardly convincing ,The water should be saline and sprayed at the wool for 5 days ,then I would think the test is more valid .However its better than bare metal .In the olden days better cars were equipped with galvanized floors and some body panels .If only the cars were properly designed and protected with proper materials for the outrageous amount of money they ask these days for a new car.

      Its hard to argue with you because you bring up a good point. By the way, I don't know of a single vehicle that doesn't have some sort of treatment done to the frame to slow down corrosion.
      I'm not against krown, there's a lot of real life proof that it works, you just have to go on TH-cam and look up people's personal experience with the product

    • @dbscout
      @dbscout ปีที่แล้ว

      All legitimate points which I shared in my head as I watched. Particularly the benefit of the barrier created by the excess hydrophobic product rising to the top. However, on the flip side, while this doesn't appear to be submerged in a solution as corrosive as what your car will be exposed to on the road, it is also steel wool. Which is probably about a bagillion times more susceptible to oxidation than any portion of your car. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Definitely agree that this "test" would benefit from better controls.

    I thought this video was going to show how their spray guns can penetrate to the center of a ball of steel wool. Not dunking the fucking wool in a jar of oil. This video is so much fail. I also agree with everyone saying to use salt water etc. This is a terrible test. I'd also like to see Krown acknowledge one of these comments that question and criticize this video that misleads and lies.

  • @Lufty25
    @Lufty25 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Your product is only as good as the application, took my car to one of your locations and they spent 20 min on it and did a very poor job, took it to another locations and it took them 45 min and they did a better job, took it to your competitor and they took 1 hour and you notice the difference of quality. I'd rather my car drip oil for a week but not rust rather than have a car barely drip and rot out. your service has really gone down.

      Hi George - Sorry for the late response to your question. To ensure that your vehicle is adequately protected, it is essential to have it treated every year. Especially these days when extremely aggressive road chemicals are in use for de-icing our roads, make sure you come in for a treatment every year. Hope this helps. Sorry, this video demonstration is suspicious. At 2:16, the bubbles in the right tank suddenly disappear hinting that the left tank was recorded for weeks not days while the right tank was cut and edited forward by 5 days, if even that. Busted!
