Hi Anna, last weekend I started embroidering the woodland animals from penguin and fish, that is a free pattern. Yesterday I took an old sweater cut it up and made a dog coat / sweater. I have Pat Sloan's traffic jam on my sewing table waiting for me to make the Cornerstone sashing. And I interrupted that quilt so I could make Valentine mug rugs which I sewed together and used hotfix for the hearts but did not embroidery so that is going to be a finish for next valentine's. So it's been busy, I work full-time and take care of my mom. But it's such a joy to watch you play in your sewing and I have been very motivated by all that you do.
This episode encourages me to leap into my love project. Love of England, cross stitch and quilting. I want to do a large wallhanging of England. Use Jane Greenoff's patterns of castles, cottages to stitch the towns, villages and cities that I've visited. Its a lifetime effort but brings back all my memories of traveling through England. I keep telling you that you're missing some awesome Oregon weather... Thank you
Love this. I accidentally found the fabric at a local quilt store. They were sold out of the pattern. But I have it coming in the mail. Can't wait to start it.
I’ve just had a very pleasant half hour watching your video. Such a joy. I think your project was great....East Moreland was it❓❗️But my favorite part was just listening to you. You talking and reminiscing about your life....and about your dad. My dad taught me nearly everything I knew. He taught me how to drive, and I’ve never had a wreck yet @ 69! He taught me how to pay my debts, and repay everyone I borrowed from, even if it was only 10 cents. I’m debt free now. One day when I was a young mother w/ four little boys, I came home and my dad was out by my front door , down on his knees w/ a bucket of hot soapy water cleaning all the dirt and grime off my front screen door w/ a rag. I said “ dad you don’t have to do that”! But he thought it very important that I had a clean screen door to make my home beautiful. My Mom taught me cooking, sewing etc. but my dad....just through his example taught me so much. Your dad was a builder......now you are building a village. I love it!🤗
So fun! I have this pattern but changing the colorway. So enjoy our visits. Yes, I talk back to you. This time I was making breakfast before my husband gets downstairs. Just me, you, and yellow lab puppy, Addy. I bet get on this project! Lynn in Indiana
Hi Anna! I had Eastmoreland on my wishlist and when I saw you were going to make it I downloaded it. I’m halfway through my neighborhood and it’s been a blast! I used scraps and words I cut out of selvages to give the houses names. I also used beads as door knobs and little charms shaped like keys. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I know you say they aren’t tutorials but I’ve learned so much from you. You are the one who inspired me to start wool Applique a few years ago. I’m a stay at home mom with two boys with special needs and they stopped needing me as much and I needed a hobby in the worst way. Thanks to your videos and inspiration I’m a happy stay at home mom with more projects than I know what to do with. I don’t have anyone to enjoy this hobby with so when I talk to my husband and family I refer to you as my sewing buddy. You make me laugh with every video and help me to feel better about my projects looking “primitive”.
Pat W We are finally getting some sunshine but not real warm. Love the Eastmoreland video. I may have to give it a try. My cross stitch is going pretty well but I do better with my Sue Spargo projects. Have a fun afternoon, you two. Love & Hugs
I started this earlier this month and did do the two borders like the pattern. I have added a church and will add my local quilt shop. Since I moved recently I'm using my address and my families nearby and all my old friends in the far away houses. It's been a very relaxing project and I also love Kathy Schmitz. On her youtube channel she shows making pins out of extra houses that are so cute and you might enjoy making these as well with your leftover blocks. Enjoy
Your neighborhood is just charming, Anna! I'm a fan of bonnie Sullivan also - I'm currently doing an appliquéd wall hangings set of the Four Seasons designed by her, I just love them. Needlework soothes my soul!
Chicken Foot!!?? Love it. We play every Sunday (almost) when my adult step-kids come over. When we traveled in our 5th-wheel right after retiring in 2001, we winter in Brownsville, TX at a retirement park. There was a group of us (about 10-12) that got together and played Mexican Train dominoes, which is similar to Chicken Foot. It's a lot of fun :) BTW...LOVE Kathy Schmitz designs. I've done a couple. I've learned a lot from you since then so next time I embroider or wool applique, I'm going to use SF101 and Soft Fuse :) Thanks for the non-tutorials. Your "neighbor" in Kingman, AZ...haha.
Whoever just asked about my church idea! Heavens yes! No pun intended. Lol. This old chick shares. Now if I can continue to learn from you all, first II will thank Anna, and the rest of the roadies. This is just a fun group.
That is just so beautiful and I am loving your choice of fabric. The tip you showed about sewing the line around your perimeter is brilliant. Cant wait to see your little houses.
Love this idea. I think it would be fun to do the neighbourhood I grew up in and the streets were all named after trees. A recent guild luncheon I went to one of the ladies had lived in California and had some Sue Spargo projects for beginners 😍 Love your videos
I cannot wait to begin my Eastmoreland! I already changed the bird designed my own, and my town needs a church of a different stature, I am feeling some beadwork. My head fills with ideas and I need to execute! I am not prolific when it comes to my quilting, and sewing. Would love to find a balance as it appears you have! Thank you so much for showing and sharing. Happy Trails to you and G. Kind regards
Love the nostalgia of Eastmoreland. Memories add love to any project. Amazing parents create amazing children 👶. . Don’t you wonder what will be our children’s sweetest memories of us!! Thanks Anna.
Hello Anna, I love the little houses, I'll have to add that to my list of things to do. At the moment I am half way through the Rodeo Quilt by Goldie Richmond. I first saw it when you did a tour of the Cactus Quilt Shop in Tucson. It was a must have when we visited last year. Love from Lincolnshire, England
I bought the pattern and fabric just the other day perfect timing! Thanks for all the great tips can’t wait to start mine when I get back home to Canada ❤️
I, too, share your love of Kathy Schmitz. And I now use the Pellon 101 to back my fabric and really like how it has improved my stitching. I have not purchased Eastmoreland, but you may get me there yet 😉
I love your Little Houses video! I think I have the Little House pattern in my stash, lol. Kathy Schmitz has a TH-cam video using her Little House pattern too.
Hi Anna. Thank you for this video. I am doing this with you. Love the houses love your videos watch you everyday. You inspire me. I sure wish I had the energy to do all you do. Thank you
After seeing your other video on Eastmoreland, I had to join in. Thank you for sharing your process on doing this project. I always need another project to start.
I wanted to share that I saw a darling snowman pattern by Kathy Schmitz..the men all have such personality. And, here's a "BEE" alert. the daily deal at MSQC today is a gorgeous bee motif charm pack and you are able to get two at the price :)
Morning...love listening to you as I sew. I’m having my coffee and designing crazy quilt blocks ......I love the hand stitching and do this in the evenings while sitting next to hubby..... I’m framing one square for each of my five children for Christmas this year......
Anna, you could talk about molecular formulae and I would still love to sit and stitch as you talk! Between Quilt Roadies and Stitch Roadies I always have something wonderful to sit down with as I screw up my counts and try to fix them and then just laugh with you! Keep on with you good work, slow upload times or not!
Your village looks great Anna. I’m busy with just finishing month one of my A Little Wilderness and this afternoon I started cutting out the flowers, leaves and branches for month one of Growing Wild. I need to sew my background strips together but first finish cutting them out. I think we need 32 strips to make the centre section that we sew in quarter sections before sewing them together for the centre medallion. So my East Moreland may have to wait for awhile before I start stitching it. So many projects and only two hands and one mind to guide me. Looks like your potluck was a success. You’re getting your videos up in a timely matter. Have fun at the Tucson Quilt Show and your visit to Cave Creek.
Hi. I’ve got my neighborhood all glued down. I’m using monofilament to stitch the edges down before I start handwork. I also added a rusty red here and there to spice it up a bit. I also love soft fuse.
Thanks a lot you little enabler you! 😘 I have just downloaded the pattern and ordered the fabric. I love how you are doing it and can’t wait to get started - even though, like you, I have at least 500 other projects going on. But seriously Anna, thanks! ❤️
Hi Anna, I’m so jealous of the weather you’re having, it’s so cold here in England, we’re having more rain and hail stones today, temperatures are between 7*and 9*. Have a great time this afternoon and say hi to G . Much love 💕 xxxx
Morning! I'm waiting for my mini charm packs to be delivered as living in a small town in Oklahoma I have to travel a long way to find a quilt store. This will be my first sal :) Hope you enjoyed your day.
What a beautiful pattern of Eastmoreland you have , I'm sure to visit the site of Kathy Schmitz. Love the weather at your place it's so stormy and rainy here in the Netherlands we so need some sunny weather. I love how you work with fusible but I get lost in the many there are so please can you sometime explain the many differents between them, I would love that.
Love your eastmoreland project. Glad to hear the weather is nice. We are in the 20s with a little snow still on the ground here south of Chicago. I am wondering if you would use sf 101 to back a dish towel before embroidery and if so would you back the whole dish towel or just where the embroidery is. I am doing a vintage dish towel of the month for my daughter. Enjoy Arizona!
I watch all your different roadies, they are so much fun. I think you and I are a lot alike. I am also one of those people who has I call it adult attention deficit disorder 😆. Having mat things going at once. I have just actually gotten into Instagram so I watch a lot of old ones also.
Thank you for mentioning fusables, this has been a comedy of errors for me. I would love to see a video on just fusables. My Dad was a jack of all trades as well, at one point he owned a business and all of us children worked at the business, it was great experience for our futures. Other kids did not understand that we liked to work, I can remember being told that I did not know how to have fun. Oh well, it was fun for us. Cheers 🐝
well who ever said that was a big fat liar cause look at you having fun!!! I don't use other types because of trial and error and now am just a Soft Fuse girl :)
I cook just like G but obviously you sew like how he cooks 😂 ...your dad sounds like very interesting man Anna. My gosh when we came back after you had finished the little houses I was amazed how wonderful it looked ..very cute indeed...though I must say I smiled every time you pronounced roof ....we pronounce it very differently in NZ 😂. I’ve been beavering making project bags after watching you make yours ..it’s become a bit of compulsion 🥴..even found some bee fabric( thinking of you) now I’m making toiletry bags which are then filled with basic everyday items for the women’s refuge centre for those emergencies.😘💐
Di Jones What a wonderful gift you are giving to the women’s refuge center....bless you... I make charity quilts, simple ones whereas I take two pieces of fabric and sew a blanket between and turn like a pillow case and stitch close then tie with yarn in different areas to secure the blanket batting....I also make Rare Science. bears for children all over the world who have incurable diseases....any one from any country can join, it’s called rare science.org.......good way to use up material scraps and you don’t have to fill them they do that at the center....then it costs a lot less for postage to California.
Di Jones Thank you ......look up rarescience.org......most of these children have such rare diseases that cannot be cured. They may not make it past six.....the bears give them the friend to hold onto when they are scared or need something to hug......the material has to be cotton but mixing different colors and patterns is really what they want for it to be different .........I think I’ve made 80.......like I said by making just the bear skin the postage is reasonable......here in Ohio I buy the $13 US postal box and I put around twelve in plastic bags to keep them dry Incase of rain etc..... One thing thou they request no cigarette or animal hair near the bears for these children are very sensitive.......
Great video as usual 👍. I too have a little something extra in my brain - an arachnoid cyst. I call it my cyst-er (sister) 🤭. Silly, I know. But, you gotta work with what you're given.
Anna you made me laugh out loud with your "no HOA" comment. I hate them and refuse to live in their areas. I went to Kathy's site and wow! Great patterns. I bought a download, which is printing now, of a quilt on the clothesline, #44. It will make a cute picture in my sewing room. I'm thinking of maybe making a quilt from all of the bee patterns she has. As if I had nothing else to do. LOL. So G...what are you doing in all this great weather while we sew?
When you showed this the first time I went to her website but kits weren't available. So I got as many items from her as I could, but I had to "outsource" all the fabrics. I haven't started mine yet. I haven't stitched like this in years. The interfacing you used (SF 101?) - does it make it harder to stitch on? I want to do some of her other embroideries on the crackle fabric and it seems like that would really help those projects (though Kathy herself doesn't use interfacing) but Eastmoreland is stitched on flannel. Hopefully by the time this video has been put up you'll have had a chance to do some stitching on it and will be able to answer that for me.
sadiejosiemom I’ve used a bunch of different fusible products and found the SF 101 to be the easiest to sew with. I first heard about it on Anna’s channel....tried it....and was hooked. Give it a go! You’ll like it 🥰

That is just so beautiful and I am loving your choice of fabric. The tip you showed about sewing the line around your perimeter is brilliant. Cant wait to see your little houses.
You have never steered us wrong! Love your little houses! I am going to have to look for the rules for chicken dominos.
have fun!
Your town is looking so cute..happy embellishing

I love the idea of a church. Can I copy your idea?
Trying to recover from the flu today. You cheered up my day with your video. I look forward to each of your posts.
oh you poor thing...get well fast!
Love the nostalgia of Eastmoreland. Memories add love to any project. Amazing parents create amazing children 👶. . Don’t you wonder what will be our children’s sweetest memories of us!! Thanks Anna.
I do think of that often...I used to say I need to be thrifty because our kids will need therapy money when they are 40, lol
Hello Anna, I love the little houses, I'll have to add that to my list of things to do. At the moment I am half way through the Rodeo Quilt by Goldie Richmond. I first saw it when you did a tour of the Cactus Quilt Shop in Tucson. It was a must have when we visited last year.

oh man more to love!
Morning...love listening to you as I sew.
I’m having my coffee and designing crazy quilt blocks ......I love the hand stitching and do this in the evenings while sitting next to hubby.....
I’m framing one square for each of my five children for Christmas this year......
what a gift to them :)
All the beautiful needlework you do I hope you sign them and date them........your great grd kiddos will have a cherished heirloom....
The village is perfect!! I love the quirkiness of it. I love folk art!!!Enjoy the beautiful weather !! Have fun at the potluck!!
Have fun at the Tucson Quilt Show and your visit to Cave Creek.
we love such a variety of projects....it seems our list is never done, lol
Hi. I’ve got my neighborhood all glued down. I’m using monofilament to stitch the edges down before I start handwork. I also added a rusty red here and there to spice it up a bit. I also love soft fuse.
love it...doing it your way!
Thanks a lot you little enabler you! 😘 I have just downloaded the pattern and ordered the fabric. I love how you are doing it and can’t wait to get started - even though, like you, I have at least 500 other projects going on. But seriously Anna, thanks! ❤️
it never ends....
I too have Eastmoreland and after watching your video makes me want to start mine. Yours is beautiful. So glad you did this video.
get going girlfriend!
Hi Anna, that looks fabulous. Can't wait to see more of it. Finishing off some Christmas projects myself. See you next time
Love the way it has turned out so far. I think you will be pleased with embellishments 😀
Love, love, love Eastmoreland! It will be on my to do list after seeing yours for sure! Hugs!
What a lovely day in the neighborhood!
Hi Anna, I’m so jealous of the weather you’re having, it’s so cold here in England, we’re having more rain and hail stones today, temperatures are between 7*and 9*.
Have a great time this afternoon and say hi to G . Much love 💕 xxxx
the weather is certainly bizarre this year...but I hope you get some good stitching in.
Anna, I'm a new wanna-be quilter & applique-er. This was so helpful, thank you!
welcome!
Very cute. Waiting to see how you embellish it
Great video. Inspired me to buy the pattern!
Dear Anna, you always make me laugh! Thank you for giving us permission to color outside the lines;)

Morning! I'm waiting for my mini charm packs to be delivered as living in a small town in Oklahoma I have to travel a long way to find a quilt store. This will be my first sal :) Hope you enjoyed your day.

That is so cute! Love the little houses ❤
Please, please make a video when you finish! I can't wait to see how it turns out!
I don't use the others so wouldn't know how to talk about them...but Soft Fuse is awesome!
I have not done a dish towel but knowing me I would stitch the towel then put the SF 101 on so no one could see my stitching, LOL
Now I think I will have to do this
Ugh
Love the neutral colors.
it is awesome!
I am making newspaper/fabric carrots while I watch. Don’t have much spring/summer stitching so doing diff stuff as well
I watch all your different roadies, they are so much fun. I think you and I are a lot alike. I am also one of those people who has I call it adult attention deficit disorder 😆. Having mat things going at once. I have just actually gotten into Instagram so I watch a lot of old ones also.
You tube not Instagram
i always say we are more alike than different.
The needle comment made me laugh, nothing of mine comes out perfect but that's ok lol😂
Have a Great afternoon
I love the little houses. Will this be a wall hanging? Cant wait to see it done.
yes! I can decide it it will be a quilt or stretched over a canvas....
Great demo once again. Hoping I can get this pattern sent to the UK. Can I ask what is flannel? Is it the same as wool? It's all new to me.
That is so cute. Could I do it with quilt scraps and embroidery thread? I don't have wool but plenty of cotton scraps.
Most definitely!!!
I've just started watching you love your channel. I subscribed 💖💖
thank you!
I’ve been beavering making project bags after watching you make yours ..it’s become a bit of compulsion 🥴..even found some bee fabric( thinking of you) now I’m making toiletry bags which are then filled with basic everyday items for the women’s refuge centre for those emergencies.😘💐
those project bags are addicting!! I love your toiletry bag projects :) I wish I could hear how you say roof...is it like rough?
Quilt Roadies thank you Anna .... we pronounce roof like rooof 😂

What a wonderful gift you are giving to the women’s refuge center....bless you...
Carrie M what a wonderful gift you give and I’m going to investigate making bears for Rare Science ..thank you 😘

Thank you ......look up rarescience.org......most of these children have such rare diseases that cannot be cured.
Cute little “lunch box” type box. What goes into it?
We LOVE Chickenfoot!!!!!
Great video as usual 👍. I too have a little something extra in my brain - an arachnoid cyst. I call it my cyst-er (sister) 🤭. Silly, I know. But, you gotta work with what you're given.
ROFLOL... I love it!!
You’re a bad influence on me. I like all the designs you like. Had to order that pattern.
I can't help it!
🤗
Anna you made me laugh out loud with your "no HOA" comment. I hate them and refuse to live in their areas. I went to Kathy's site and wow! Great patterns. I bought a download, which is printing now, of a quilt on the clothesline, #44. It will make a cute picture in my sewing room. I'm thinking of maybe making a quilt from all of the bee patterns she has. As if I had nothing else to do. LOL. So G...what are you doing in all this great weather while we sew?
lol... he is out hiking!
You’ll like it 🥰
@@doodle6166 Thanks!
It needles great and I use it on the back of her crackle fabric which is my favorite!
I do enjoy hanging with you! If we lived closer, I think we’d be friends even though I’m not vegan, lol!
most certainly :)
Duh also need to learn this u tube stuff as well. But I plug along.
takes time :)
Hi Anna, I'm curious. Is the fabric from Eastmoreland
cotton or wool?
the houses are cotton, the background is flannel :)
I think if I read directions first, I wouldn’t do half of the projects I attempt!😂👵🏻
we must be sisters!
😎🇦🇺👍
Where are you putting your trees? It looks like houses take up ALL the space.
I shall squeeze them in!
I think you are more confident in your quilt Roadies but you are a good cross stitched
Stitched
