I have the Bowl Filler book from Christmas. I'm getting it out today - thanks to you. Loads of great sayings so needed right now. I have just finished 25 masks for family. We all live in Kansas about 15 minutes apart. We have not been mixing together to keep us all healthy. My Dad is in a close by nursing home after suffering a stroke last July. I have been filling his birdfeeder and talking through the closed window with him. He is being very loved on by the staff. I too hop around projects. I sew clothing, quilt, cross stitch and wool applique. Since our state shutdown school for the year (back in early March) I am not seeing my K/1st graders. I am retired but still go into my school T-TH 9-2 to work with them on MATH. I miss them SO MUCH..... I've sewn two tops, started a long ago purchased quilt kit (with machine applique) nine blocks - I have done 3 of them, cross stitching like crazy and working on a bunch of Buttermilk Basin projects. We have a 2nd home in MN about an hour from Canada. I was able to get a bunch of patterns and kits a BMB in last January after a trip to go ice fishing. Love the place. Keep safe and enjoy your time in the Beehive.

You are a blessing to me and I'm sure to all your Roadies. You are the calm when I need to stress relieve. Thank you for sharing your Bee Hive. I think a lot of us float from project to project. Right now I'm finishing a small hand stitched project along with longarming another. In between I'm finishing a Sylvia Pippen wall hanging which I would never have known about if it wasn't for your introduction. I look forward to your next video.

I love that you start out with a plan and five steps later you are off on a tangent. I have completed two UFO quilt tops and made the binding for each. I am piecing scrappy backing for both, so that is hopefully what I will continue to work on...unless I get distracted by something else!,

Entering my sewing studio is also a recipe for multiple projects...and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I have three projects going now, but could add another any minute! Our grocery stores are crazy busy every day. I’m using their delivery service and think I might use it after this crisis is over. More sewing and stitching time! I also have cut my husband’s hair since early in our marriage...45 years. He has less and less to cut on top, so taking less time than it used to...Stay well. Lynn in Indiana

I just want to thank you for being so real. I am constantly bouncing all over the place from one project to another and it was so nice to hear that someone I enjoy watching so much is the same way ans makes such beautiful creations - leaves a little hope for me!

In these challenging times ...." make do and mend" is the order of the day...and a quilt made during this time which may not be perfect but reflects life in lockdown...using what you have ...will be symbolic of these days.
We are all cooking what we have in...making soup and meals from leftovers....etc..
So craft projects now are what we have in...so we are more appreciative of what we have ..these days are making us take stock...
    Enjoy your CV quilt.

I am so glad you are safe and home in your bee hive. I was worried about you out there traveling during this time. I used to sew one quilt at a time and then some how I slipped and now have waaay too many projects in progress. This is the perfect time to whittle those down a bit. After I finish making masks! My DIL works in a big city hospital and asked me to make some. They are wearing them over the N95 mask. I made 30 and now am working on the second batch of 35. I got my husband folding and pressing the fabris strips into ties for me. They are a little wonky but will function just fine, Stay safe!

I totally get getting distracted. That's why I usually have 34 projects going. Recently I was working on this quilt block from hell. I redid it several times. Then the other day I looked at it and threw it away. I sat down and felt an enormous sense of relief. I smiled and started on something else. Stay safe and be well.

Such a relief to know someone's sidetracked as easily as me! It's why I've so many unfinished projects. I always struggle to understand project instructions. I mainly got embroidery framed as making it into an item was generally beyond me. I've pieces of lace from about 20 years ago still waiting to be stitched onto fabric edges in case I ruin many hours of work.

I have made MANY T-shirt quilts and am happy to share some small bit of help. I like your basic grid. I always make them on a 12.5" t-shirt squares using that ruler makes it easy. Then use solid color 2.5" X 12.5" for sashing then different color 2.5" squares corner stones. School or favorite color of future owner is nice. You can always mix up all color of both, just fun colors. then a neutral small border, black or white then finish with a wider color or print border. I also longarm my own quilts using pantograph for this type quilt. Nice, but not timely. Hope that helps. Love your videos, I am very organized and structured, so your style is refreshingly different. Thanks....

Someday, maybe.

Thank you Anna for the journey through your mind when picking a project. I am the same way after quitting for more than 30 years. I have all the books, all the tools and the STASH. A lot of my stuff doesn’t look familiar to me so it’s like looking at new stuff. We are hibernating at our vacation condo in Vermont, and even here I will not run out of projects. When we were working my friend and I always said we were buying stuff we didn’t need and didn’t have the time to work on,. Apparently buying it for when we retired and had the time was a good idea. Stay well!

I so enjoyed this video. Those are going to be real cute in the bowl and makes a statement. My husband and I are in our 80's and have underlying health issues. Our kids have given us strict instructions not to leave our house. For me that is okay, because I'm a homebody, but my husband is not. We do live in the country and have some animals, so he is able to go outside and to the barn, etc. Sorry this got a little long!!

Have watched for years and never left a comment, but have to tell you this. I HAD TO PAUSE YOU AND START READING THE COMMENTS. Anna you are far from alone. I have almost stopped my quilting and started to go back to cross stitch. The only problem is I am in early 70’s now. It’s much harder for me now. I also started floss tube watching and can’t focus on it and watch anything at the time. You I sent you a message on it once telling you about Jan Hicks who could help you with a question you had. I see now how you achive so much. Going to start a much smaller project now. That should help me and free up time to watch and then use quite time for stitching. Got to finish this quit rowdy now. See you again soon on stitch roady too.

I can't even blame ADD, I get interrupted by more urgent things before I finish. I haven't done much sewing in well over a year because there are always things like washing machines, toilets, and falling branches to be dealt with. And before I can get that done, when it's at least calm, something else more urgent than completion comes up. gah!

My I have been watching you very sporadically, but I have finally how to you tube on my tv...I think you have a different mode of living while you travel. You used to sit at a typically travel trailer table, and one show I watched this year seemed like you have more space on the road. Our winter home is a motor home, 31 foot, that allows me to take far too much along. Of course this year, we had a minor problem that took a repair person, then came home early so We were only away for two months. Do you normally dry camp, state or national parks, or private camp grounds. I find my self trying to interrupt you but, you don’t stop! 🥰😉😁

Hello! I am a new counted cross stitcher and discovered your channel when looking up quilting videos. I have been a self taught quilter since 1999, with hand applique and hand quilting being my first love. I will machine quilt small quilts if I have a deadline to meet. You are a very talented lady and I love watching your videos. I have two questions: when working on a cross-stitch project, how do you mark your place on your chart? I seem to keep making mistakes and have to pull out stitches so I was wondering how everyone else is keeping track of where they are. In one of your retreat videos, there was a lady working on a beautiful black and shades of gray project on a white pipe looking frame.(I don't know what that frame is called) It seemed like she had long thread tales hanging down the front of her project. Why did she do that? Could you explain that method? Thank you so much for making your wonderful and informative videos. Happy stitching!! Oh, one more question...some of your videos are titled Flosstube and then a number. Could you explain what that is about? Thank you again!!!

I'm glad you're still going on strong.. lol... being all over the place is not so bad in projects.. at least you're not bored... I remember you talking about the press and seal before. I just don't remember which video it was. Its sounds like something would try when doing words. I had made me a bag a long time ago when I was a young teen and put writing on it. I did it free hand style.. If that's what you call it.. lol. it worked out.. but like you said if you like the font the designer used this would be a good way to do it. press and seal.. ill have to remember to look for that. I just can't remember if you had actually used a hot iron in it or not. lol..

I could so relate starting one thing then flitting to something else! So many things to make! Your bowl pillows are such a cute idea.. need to get some press ‘n seal. Do you think you could spritz it with water after stitching to remove it? 😊 Suzette

LOL...you crack me up! "It's like a carnival going on here.." ROFLOL. My husband has said almost those same words about my sewing and crafting room. I love me some carnival action. I blame my dad. He would rarely finish one project before starting 5 other projects. I am my father's daughter LOL. I tell my hubby, "Who doesn't love a carnival??!!" Stitch on girlfriend!

I live alone and some days have no “structure”! I can go from one thing to another thing and then to another! I am having no problem sheltering at home!

I can't concentrate on any one thing for more than 20 or 30 minutes at a time. Therefore, one one day, I will finish maybe 6 or 7 projects. Surprises lots of people. They think I work so fast. HAHA.

Me too. Lost my husband 3 years ago, and to top it off I just broke my hip so I cannot sit for very long. That means I have to keep getting up and I tend to go read, then back to the craft room and XStitch, etc. I am not lonely though. I am my own best friend.

What if you printed the slogan backwards on the Peel and Stick and put it on the back to stitch through. Then you wouldn't need to pick out all the little stray pieces after you removed it.
Thanks for the company today. I'm in solo quarantine with my rowdy kitten for companionship. Talk about crazy, I discovered she enjoys playing tag throughout the apartment. I chase her then turn around and she chases me. Oh what we do for entertainment. LOL
Take care when you venture out!!!

A peak into your daily life and how distracting it can be. I go to my sewing room for a specific item and see several items, patterns, fabrics, or projects, and forget or dismiss my original purpose. My distractibility has increased during this social distancing time.
Loved the Press and Seal tip. I don't usually embroider but know some who do and will pass it along.
Stay safe. And help keep us stitches and sexists sane.

I found that I did not like the Press & Seal as the tiny bits left in the stitching were a pain to remove.

My husband sleeps with his barber 💈 also. I reluctantly started cutting his hair several years ago. I put off cutting his hair, till I’m sleeping with the Woolly mammoth😉 So many ufo’s to work on... don’t dare look in a pattern book or I’ll be off chasing a squirrel 🐿. As always thanks for the fun and take care. 🐝 Linda in Minnesota

It was interesting to hear you speaking about how difficult it was to sew the caps. The difference between quilting and garment sewing is quilting is two dimensional. Garments are 3 dimensional.

I can work on 3 or 4 different projects in a day and start something new by evening. 😂🤣 love it. Thank you for the laugh!

Hi thanks fo the time. I have ADHD and some days I have 10 things going. This gets to my husband as he is one who starts something and finishes the project before moving on to something else. No way I could ever do that. I am retired and have no structure either. I can sew or embrodery, or bake just whatever please me.

It's called bias tape, Anna and it can be used in an assortment of ways even trimming out a cross stitch piece when finished. Soooooo, are you very tired? I ask because to go down as many rabbit holes as you have, all in an attempt to back your second t-shirt quilt, you must be exhausted!!! LOLOL What a terrific idea for the embroidery. Press and Seal. Who would have thunk it??? Thank you AGAIN! Your kids on you about leaving your house, too? I can't believe my two. One's willing to come 200 miles to purchase my groceries, leave them on my front step and leave?????? Very sweet but not terribly practical. The other just doesn't stop nagging. hahaha Are you backstitching those little sayings? Looks good! You and G take care and we'll chat again. Hugs.
